My first neo traditional and i love it so much!
It's my cat who likes to bite, so we reinforced the theme :D

Josh took a photo of my little rescue, Jasper, and tattooed him for me. I'm so in love with it.

    Here frands:
Feeling pretty tattoo-flu-y, but I have a steak on the way, and then it's time to drink every water and sleep every sleep. So happy that we finished the areas that were the most painful for me during lining, though.

    Couldn't be happier.

Ok so I caved and took a photo - crappy cell phone because I tried to get a close up and with an iPhone 6S Plus it's huge and hard to steady in my hand. But, you get the idea. Even though it's still healing I am so psyched at how it turned out.

No tattoo artist worth his salt is going to just tattoo this on you. You need to give him your ideas, and let him draw it. Please, please, please listen to us. I don't want you to end up with a big old mess on your back.

not a fan of small tattoos
    unless you're covered in tattoos
and you're getting fun filler type of stuff
i really dislike small script tattoos
but - that stuff is popular
and i think because there is definetly
clusters of people that want to have a tattoo
    buuuuuuuuuuut...not really
and i guess i'm just not a fan of that

I think most people here will think it's just a waste of good real estate.

I've now lost 33 pounds and stabilized around my goal weight. I may try for another 5 pounds but, who knows? All of the college social functions make eating healthy difficult...but I'm determined to hold the line. I've learned that I can have a splurge from time to time, and then just get back to my routine. I am feeling so much better - but now need to buy some new clothes including 34" waist pants....which I have not worn since high school.
The weight loss and tattoos have made me much more confident to wear sleeveless shirts and tank shirts..something I've never done before. Why did I wait until I was 61 to do this? Ugh.
By the way, did I tell you how much I love this new tattoo?

The tattoo that I was hoping for in like 99% not going to happen, so I'm bummed about that since I worked on getting it booked for 10 months. BUT the cool thing is that I won an award at work (yea!) and had some extra cash that was going towards the tattoo. Anyway, I saw this cool thing that was being auctioned off for one of the charities that I support. I bid. I won.
HENRY ROLLINS is recording my voicemail.
I am more than a little excited. *drops mic*

I just got back two weeks ago from a service trip to West Virginia (I'm from North Dakota). My parish took a group of 8, and travelled with a group of 14, and spent a week working for and with the locals in Delbarton and Williamson, WV. It was most excellent.

instagram - to me - love it or hate it - is a game changer for evaluating what to expect from a tattooer
its not everything - but its huge
i like when artists post regular work
not everyone does this but when i can go a year or 2 deep into someones IG and i see hundreds of tattoos they did
    well that says something
if you see a consistent body of work that pleases you then you can feel confident that you will probably be pleased with the outcome of your tattoo
like i said - its not everything but its a big thing in the current processes of choosing an artist
    i personally love IG
i have mentioned to a few artists that i liken it to growing up and looking at the sports pages
    following your favorite athlete
well - i dont follow sports these days like that
but i like going onto IG with a cup of coffee
and checking out the latest pieces of awesomeness that my favorite tattooers have posted
    anyway
    good luck in your search
i also am a big fan of the LST interview section
fun stuff and you'll get some good perspective on the world of tattooing

My grandpa (WWII U.S.N. Vet) and my uncles had tattoos on their arms. It was pretty much expected if you were an enlisted sailor.

    Hello all,
I'm 47 years old from the Cincinnati area. I'm getting ready to start a traditional Japanese back piece after a 20 year gap since my first tattoo.  I've got the feeling that once that's done I'll probably look to move right into knocking my sleeves out too.  I'm not getting younger and I've always wanted this so now's the time. Loving this site, it's a great resource. I found my way here through Scott's Youtube interviews with the various well-known artists. Love those awesome insights into the artists'  backgrounds and personalities.

i think misspelling of words is up there.
also, backwards tattoos. you guys see that TATTOO WARS show? it was awesome!!!!!!!!!! you see the one with mike rubendall up against bugs? i like the way they showed mike doing his homework researching his design and doing some sketching while bugs went to his mechanics place to work on a hot rod. come tattoo time, mike did an INCREDIBLE job. bugs on the other hand decided to just draw his design on. and drew it BACKWARDS!!!!!! thats some crap you learn in the first week of an apprenticeship. not 20 years into your career.
