  1. We use it in the ER. the red blotching isnt something to be concerned about unless it persists. The fairer the skin the more likely you'll encounter it.
  2. My recommendation is to sleeve the entire thing.
  3. Joel Long puts out some pretty wild stuff. He's been in the game for a long long time. http://www.joeldlong.com/
  4. So here's my final weigh in on my first experience with tegaderm/saniderm. As I stated earlier, it became clear early on that saniderm wasn't up to par. I replaced the saniderm with tegaderm a day after getting tattooed. I had some reservations on reapplying anything from what I had read on this thread however I was left with little choice. I showered and removed the saniderm; once out of the shower I dried with fresh paper towels directly on the tattoo then let air dry for 5-10 minutes before applying the tegaderm. After applying tegaderm. After having it on overnight I saw no change to the tattoo or surrounding skin. Four days later I removed the tegaderm revealing a beautifully in-process heal. I have attached a photo of the tegaderm I removed. As you can see there was a layer of skin/ink that came along. I highly recommend Tegaderm if the area calls for it. I did't use any tegaderm on my sleeve for a multitude of reasons. The first was simply due to the financial burden of buying large quantities and having to apply it over the weeks my sleeve was in process. I don't believe the end result is any different regardless of which healing route you take. I can definitely say tegaderm greatly reduces the peel and heal time. Hope this information helps out. Stay stoked and get great tattoos Cheers

  6. I too was in SF but missed @gingerninja but failed to link up. I did however I did stop in to see Kahlil at tattoo city. First and foremost what a great dude and great experience. The shop has so much energy. Kahlil's booth has seen some great tattooers adding to the mojo. I left with this bad larry. On another note I can say that I stand behind tegaderm as a healing method. Ill go into it more in the tegaderm thread.
  7. I'm currently visiting SF and while here I got tattooed by Kahlil. Due to the placement (my thigh) we decided to put some saniderm on it so it wouldn't imped on my walking around the city. I had used tegaderm during test runs but never on a fresh tattoo. After a day of walking the saniderm peeled on all corners pretty bad. The next day we continued walking around without an issue. That night I went to take a shower; I did my best not to get it wet but in the end the saniderm filled with water. I had no choice but to remove it. once out of the shower I was faced with a choice to either leave it off and have my tattoo rub against my jeans for 6-8 miles a day for the next three days or apply the tegaderm I brought. I opted to apply my tegaderm and boy am I happy I did. I had read mixed reviews on reapplying adhesive to your tattoo but I felt like I was left with little option. I'm on our final day here in SF and the tegaderms held up like a dream. There has been zero iritation and the tattoo appears to be coming along like a dream. Tegaderm in my opinion is leaps and bounds better than saniderm. It's thinner with better adhesive and more stretch. I'll keep everyone up to date once I take it off. As of now I stand behind reapplying adhesive if the situation calls for it.
  8. Where this tread has gone with the degradation of others is a bummer. We're all entitled to our opinions. I don't there's on this forum who would advocate for tattooing yourself or tattooing outside of a sterile field littlefox1970. That being said this should be a place of advice and guidance. Lets all do our part to keep it that way.
  9. A few day after photos. Sorry for the poor quality.
  10. Healing has been phenominal! Yesterday marked the end of black and gray work. Knocked out the tiger strips as well. Next Week we start packing in color! We also finished shelling out our next project for my back. 6'3" there will be a lot of ground to cover.
  11. More brutality on my arm today. Headed back next week for some color.
  12. I don't see why this said artist wouldn't want to take on the project. I can't speak to personal experience but anyone who is worth their salt should be pretty upfront about being into it or not. After all you are offering to pay them for a service; that service is what puts food on the table. I don't know if the artist you are trying to get work from is a local cat or a "big" but those who are reputable also usually have good work ethic/ customer service. You have to sit with this person for hours so if are to egotistical i wouldn't want to hang out with them anyway,
  13. I'm not great with photos but here are a few progress pictures from this last month with Lehi.
