vexyourlex reacted to suburbanxcore in Advice on tattoo healing
She’s saying the same thing as stated above. Rephrasing the same questions and explaining the importance and whatever else isn’t going to speed up the healing process. Be patient, see how it looks in a few weeks, and get it touched up if necessary.
Be warned though: You’ve used the word perfect a few times here. If you expect perfection of an imperfect art form on an imperfect medium, you’re going to constantly find some little thing wrong. Be patient.

vexyourlex got a reaction from suburbanxcore in Why was I offered a free tattoo? Sketchy or normal?
Maybe it’s the paranoid lady in me but I’d bring a friend just in case. You never know if there will be other artists working at whatever time you’ve got scheduled.

vexyourlex reacted to suburbanxcore in Scarred?
I get it. I remember my first few tattoos being hyper focused on things, and even later ones if they would heal in new ways I wasn't used to. I'm glad that I didn't know about this site for a lot of them or there may have been some panicked posts! Patience is something that is more important with tattoos than I realized initially. I don't think most people do.

vexyourlex reacted to Hogrider in New here please help!
First, it takes 6 - 8 weeks to heal. Unless it's oozing, painful and hot, you're probably fine. Second, YOU ARE DROWNING THAT TATTOO. Use just enough ointment to keep it moist. Too little is better than too much. I'd wipe off all the lotion, wash it and let it breath for a day. Then tomorrow, just put on a tiny touch of lotion.
You may want to try a cold pack on it a couple of times a day too.

vexyourlex reacted to warrug25 in New tattoo too dark
As far as I know, it's perfectly normal for your fresh tattoo to be darker than the older one and the situation will even out in the coming weeks.
Eight days is definitely too short of a life for a tattoo to show its final form, as I learned on my own skin: at its 8th day of life mine had just begun forming scabs 😅
