  2. kylegrey

    Newbie

I dig that Blue Steel pic tho .
  3. @Stefan Johnsson I recognise a wolf-head thats blatantly yours amongst the stuff he's passing off as his portfolio .
  4. The classic Ed Hardy piece springs to mind , other than that I've seen Bert Krak do some dope ones as well as Lehi and Koeplinger . This is a cool etching by Tim Lehi available from Raking Lights Project .
  5. @spyro Have you checked out the Dragons thread on this forum? There's a dragon sleeve I posted by Grant Cobb done in the style you are looking for , or check out the art of Boris Vallejo and select something of his you like and take that to your artist . Conversely if you mention Frank Frazetta or Greg Irons in your consultation Tim will know what you mean , this is the stuff you should look at and also something the tattooer will be into . I'll post some of Vallejo's stuff but I'll let you do the rest to save my haggard hands .
  6. See also Dead Homiez off the Cube E.P. Kill at Will in the other Rap thread
  7. Normally I wouldn't post and/or avoid this sort of thing like the plague but this is a fascinating and candid interview with Dorian Yates , who always was cut from a different cloth . If your interested take the time it's worth a watch -
  8. King Edward was tattooed by Hori Chiyo who tattooed many royal personages . His sons , the Duke of Clarence and the Duke of York , later King George V also sought out Hori Chiyo when the two brothers served as midshipmen aboard H.M.S Bacchante which visited Yokohama in 1882 .
  9. Fucking A @Dan S !! That really suits you sir , I've always wanted to get that classic Stoney St Clair biker and this is along those lines .
  10. @RoryQ Closest thing I'm familiar with to this is the Russian training systems particulary those of Boris Sheiko .
  11. @RoryQ Does that mean that you train each movement 4-5 times per week ? If so what varients of your 1-rep max do you use ?
  12. @JeffK Good idea to post the clip of your deadlift I would say most , if not all members who post in this thread , are passionate and well informed about various training methods .
  13. The statue is known as The Boxer of Quirinal or The Pugilist at Rest , I got hip to it through the writings of Thom Jones Boxer of Quirinal | Prague Stepchild
  14. I was a teenager when I heard " Nation of Millions " drop for the first time , I thought the World was ending , there was sirens , news -flashes , a DJ named Terminator X , a private army called S.1.W' s and a crazy eclectic layered sound that even made politics sound cool . It was so revolutionary and dangerous I don't think anybody had ever heard anything like it . This , "Straight Outta Compton" and The Geto Boys "Grip it! On that other Level " was my Punk-Rock , it was for a white kid growing up in New Zealand , rebel music . At the time this stuff was very rare and quite expensive as it was only available on vinyl or tape as a U.S. import , shit I even managed a prized OG Sports Specialities Kings cap like Eazy wore , no big deal you say but this stuff was rarer than Hens teeth , wearing one made you prime candidate to collect a slap and or be robbed, people were losing their Jordan's as quick as they could buy em . I still think the albums above are the best Rap albums produced , they affected me so much ,I couldn't really totally dig Biggie or Tupac. I don't know anything else just didn't have the rawness and seemed to me posturing and self-indulgent So hard did I rinse these three albums that to this day I can still recite every lyric word for word .
  15. Thanks for sharing your amazing tattoos , I love every piece .
  16. Supercool , loving Bob Roberts with the Doritos .
  17. @CABS Maxime Buchi is your guy he's really into hip-hop .
  18. A lot of the warrior prints are based on the story of the 108 Heroes of The Suikoden or Water Margin , sort of a Chinese / Japanese Robin Hood and an extremely long novel . Here's some notes I took from material written by Horiyoshi III which may be of use - Suikoden 108 fellow ruffians in possession of 108 stars of destiny, tenko stars and chisatu stars , who were guided by strange coincidence and fate . 1120- A gang of anti-authority thieves led by 36 great leaders with Soko as the head robbed around the valley of the Yellow River by use of waterways . Based on this fact the story of the Suikoden has been told . The author is said to be either " Shitaian" or "Rakanchu" when the story was finally written down in book form . In late Northern Sung Dynasty , under the reign of the elegant Emperor Kiso , people were immersed in unprecedented period of peace . As a result of indulging themselves in luxury , the signs of decadent and excessive maturity were finally showing . People have been deluded and uncertainties gradually prevailed . A young man with a chivalrous spirit " shisin" burnt down his house were he was born and left home . Having tattoo of 9 Dragons all over his body 9 ( Kumonryu ) and Tenbi star of destiny in his hand . People called him Kumonryu Shishin Later on the strange destiny sailed like a whirlpool and summoned up fellow ruffians . The great Yellow River bore it's fangs and the mainland started wavering .
