  1. The year is wrapping up and we're in the final stretch.... What were the most popular tattoos you saw and/or tattooed?
  2. Any chance we can see a picture for better feedback? Are all the tattoos by the same person? I got plenty of bad tattoos when I first started getting tattooed by not very good tattooers and my healing process with those ones sound very similar to your posting....just trying to possibly help....
  3. @Jake and I were talking the other day so here it is... Would you rather see someone with GOOD hand and/or neck tattoos but little to nothing else? OR ....someone with BAD hand and/or neck tattoos but little to nothing else? What is this called the warped tour suit?
  4. @chrislj54 @Jake is busy lately and doesn't spend much time on here so thought I'd answer back....no it's not on him but it's badass!
  5. Thanks for joining our tattoo forum. A great city though the winters are colddddd. See you around the site.....
  6. We had an anonymous five star rating system originally (I personally liked it because people could rate a tattoos more accurately) though LSTers voiced up and didn't like it so we switched to the like. Though we are always open to listening and seeing how we can make the site better for all.......
  7. @Ursula and everyone else who weighed-in, thanks for voicing up. In order to know what a good tattoo is VS a bad tattoo OR a bad tattoo VS a mediocre tattoo and so on, one must often see the difference. It's an open forum so this is part of it though we thought ahead, somewhat, and put some things in place... -Use the 'like' button because photos/tattoos that are most 'liked' rank higher and appear on the first pages. -Next, there is the comments section so leave feedback on both good, mediocre, and bad tattoos but be respectful. -Lastly, everyone starts somewhere in getting tattoos and more often than not we start getting bad tattoos first and it is not til we learn what a good tattoo is and/or someone offers constructive criticism that we realize I need to get better tattoos or some time passes and you take note its all bleeding together or its fading much faster than it should. This site is aimed at all interested in tattoos so all have the opportunity to learn and get better tattoos. Shit, I was in a shop topless the other day getting tattooed and I know when ever this happens around those who know tattoos I am going to get comments on my bad tattoos so I laugh with them while getting better tattoos.
  8. @Cork its a no win situation right? how many times have we each used at least one of these words at some point unknowingly? live and learn, haha
  9. Welcome to LST. I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head for the Connecticut area though sure some LSTers will...... Are you willing to travel to other cities close by? If so, how far in each direction?
  10. Thanks @dcostello I was going to try and get one together before the holidays for one of those each person buy a gift under twenty dollars and passed it around kind of thing though work and school got the best of me.....anyone want to do one of those aiming for January? I have a feeling with some of the wise ass' we've got on here it could be rather entertaining
  11. Thanks @Iwar Did you ever receive notifications when someone commented on your photos? I just looked around 'settings' and could not locate this option for photo notification though lets see what the LST Wizard @steve1461686340 says?
  12. This thread idea comes from the "Un-planned Tattoo" thread and a conversation I had the other day while getting tattooed plus my general way of getting tattooed.... As most of my tattoos are impromptu I either have a vague idea of what I want or just want to get tattooed so I show the tattooer the open space and say: "Tattoo what you want" OR I give them a vague idea and say "Do what you want" OR I give them a few vague ideas and say "Your choice" I always end up with something I like and often times a tattoo that goes beyond what I could have drawn up in my head then attempted to dictate back to them my "great idea". Then when they show me and/or have drawn it on me I don't do, 'hey can you fix this" or "how about....." or what ever other thought that has me taking the creative autonomy back from the tattooer. Though from my conversation the other day and observations over the years it seems like more often than not when tattooers get the ol' "Do what you want" the customer ends up changing their minds and/or engaging in a back and forth dialogue on the most minor things. So here are my two questions for tattooers: 1) Do you prefer customers to come in telling you what they want or giving you creative autonomy? 2) How many times is too many for you to have to draw and redraw a design for the customer? Tattoo customers: 1) Do you tell the tattooer what you want or let them have free reign? 2) How interactive are you in the process once you see what they have drawn up?

    Hi

Welcome Mark. Have you decided on a tattooer and shop to begin getting tattooed again by? As for inspiration.....it's all around us and in our minds. The determining factor in my mind is finding a good tattooer who can execute it and us giving them enough room/faith to do what they do.
  14. thanks for joining us on this here ol' forum
  15. welcome to the site...very impressed with your tattoos especially seeing that eagle done

  19. @todo_es_gravy stoked! Thanks for posting the picture.
  20. Had some time to kill yesterday between meetings and clients though not enough to go home and relax so did the usual, "I'll go hangout at blackheart and say hello". In the back of my mind wanting to get tattooed though knew they were probably all busy but I got lucky, Cody Miller was free. So got my elbow, a long narrow open space on my arm done and some quick filler. While getting tattooed realized, I never shared some photos as was asked after my previous post in this thread.....I think I have more impromptu tattoos then actual appointment tattoos. Damn I love walk-in shops so long story short once these spots on my arm heal I'll post some pictures of my right arm as that will be easiest rather than pictures of my whole body which is mostly covered in impromptu tattoos. BTW @jade1955 do you make appointments at Frith St or just do a lot of walk-ins? Very impressed with how often you get tattooed and the quality!
  21. Welcome, where in the twin cities do you work?
