Surely someone here can post a photo of Ed shirtless. I know I've seen one (I believe it was taken at Chicago Tattoo Company a few years back?). I'm reading his memoirs and I'm dying to see his torso piece from Horiyoshi II.

Same here. I've been dying to see his body suit. Especially after reading Wear Your Dreams, I must see these tattoos.

Had the chance to check out tattoo city this past weekend and get tattooed by Doug. Needless to say that shop absolutely floored me. So excited for this thread!

Welcome! From the looks of it that shop is damn solid! I'm personally more into Ryan Gagne's super simple bold style, but Lucas Ford looks like a killer tattooer! Definitely in a good place. What are you getting tattooed?

If you live in Illinois, I'd absolutely try to make it to GREAT LAKES TATTOO. Literally all of those guys would be able to do a killer cover up on that!

Also, you definitely cannot go wrong with a rose coverup. Great choice.

Sunscreen is your best friend. Especially if you plan on getting more tattoos, getting in the habit of putting sunscreen on DAILY will help not only your tattoos, but your skin in general will thank you in the long run. Make sure you re-apply sunscreen after you get out of the water as well, even if it claims it's "waterproof".

Try eating a protein bar and drinking a lot of water before hand. I personally seem to get more "jerky" when my blood sugar is lower and I'm a little more dehydrated.

After lurking this forum for quite some time, I have finally registered in hopes of discussing my interest in anything and everything involving tattooing.

I am a young collector and tattooer from New Mexico. I've been through a very brief informal "apprenticeship", through which I've learned how difficult it is finding a quality mentor. I am here to learn wherever possible as well as give my two cents (which may not be much).
