  1. I don't know, honestly for that style I think the guy is pretty solid overall. Obviously the talent pool in and around NY is huge but there doesn't seem to be a lot of artists doing black and grey realism, if that's the style wanted. I'm sure there's some better choices but I don't think he'll get a bad tattoo by the Victor guy.

  2. While I'm getting the back lasered, I'm also trying to decide on where to proceed next with placeable ink. I've already got 1 x "half sleeve" and 1 x "lower squid pant". For balance, will the next piece be the other "half sleeve" or the other lower leg? Hmmmmm . . . .

Seems to be similar problem with me, too. I've got some tattoo ideas ready to go but placement is driving me nuts, what I want to put where, etc. I tend to over think things, though. This could go in the workplace thread too, because I work with kids so I'm a little careful as to what might be visible.

  3. Although I don't have a ship tattoo (yet), it's definitely in the future plans. I go back and forth between preferring black and grey or color with the ship tattoos, I've seen some great examples of both. I kind of like the black and grey stormy ship scenes which probably aren't true traditional.

  4. A few weeks ago one of the challenges was to cut hair...somehow this was supposed to indicate if a tattoo artist could execute solid line work or not. I'm not an artist but I just didn't get it at all and turned me off even more. I prefer the show that focuses on tattoo cover ups although I can do without all the damn crying.

  5. I made out pretty well, never lost power and only had a few small branches come down. The CT shore was pounded and was really devastated with flooding. I think there were 2 storm related deaths here, a fireman and an elderly woman who were both hit by falling trees. The pictures from our shoreline and NYC are crazy.

  6. CT is on the northern, windy side of the storm so we're not getting as much rain as other states. It also helps a little that I live inland but the coast of CT is getting terrible flooding from enormous waves from LI sound. Right now I am getting some heavy rain but the wind is gusting over 70 mph and there's a lot of downed trees. I almost got hit by a falling branch while driving home from work this afternoon. For now I'm just hoping I don't lose power and I'll assess the damage in the morning from the wind. I feel bad for the people whose homes and businesses will be ruined on the coast, many of whom just rebuilt after last years storm. Basically, I'm just sitting back with a beer and letting mother nature do its thing. Tomorrow morning will be a serious dose of reality.

  7. I just wanted to say a quick "good luck" to those of us who live in the northeast U.S. as we brace for the pending hurricane this week. I'm in CT and it's supposed to hit us on Mon/Tues but I know there's other members in NY, etc., who are also expected to get hit hard. I lost power last year for almost a week during a crazy October snow and ice storm and that was certainly no fun so I'm hoping like hell the hurricane isn't as bad as they're predicting. I hope everyone stays safe, including myself and my family.

  8. @Wedge - I think I recently saw a very brief video clip on-line somewhere with your pin-up cyclist in progress.

You're right @SStu. I think it was originally posted on tattoosnob a week or so ago as a commercial type of of ad for Off the Map tattoo in Mass. I had forgotten they were filming the day I was in with Shane O'Neill since it was a couple of years ago. Pretty cool though to see me getting tattooed in a commercial.
