  1. Welcome Sweety! That Jack Kirby piece ROCKS!!!
  2. I don't like talking about money either and call me old fashion...or just plain old, I prefer to bring gifts. Books, bottles of alcohol, some type of food or treats. Sure cash can be king, but this works for me and the artist always seem to appreciate it.
  3. Bro, that's the great thing about Henning and many of the artists that we work with. After all these years he genuinely LOVES tattooing. He's super nice and always open to ideas. I think you are going to be really pleased with the experience and the results. Since I'm in lower Manhattan, I'm going to hoof it over by subway and train out to Long Island. Keep us posted on everything and take pics of the whole experience!
  4. More ink for Rihanna... Rihanna painfully decorates her hand with traditional Maori tattoo | Gallery | Wonderwall
  5. Thursday, Halloween! Cool! Are you driving in or taking mass transit? I'm in to see Henning on Friday Nov. 1st. Don't forget to take pics bro! I'm sure I'll get the lowdown from Henning about your session.
  6. Awesome bro! Happy to hear it's going to work out! Which day are you booked for?
  7. When are you getting this done??? Will it be at Kings Ave? I'm going to be there next Tuesday!
  8. @Wilhell Great job with the vid and YES, it was so cool seeing so many different familiar faces. I'm going to show this to Rubendall next week when I see him and Henning at the end of the month!
  9. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm definitely NOT that kinda guy. hahahahaha. Priceless!
  10. You might cringe at what I'm about to say, but I found that after getting tattooed, I've become less inhibited. If people ask, I have no problems dropping trow to show them the work I have. Of course it wouldn't be in the middle of the aisle at the local Walmart or Best Buy. But if its at the tattoo shop, at my home or someone else's home, full monty is no problem, hahaha
  11. I should be able to make this and get you guys those prints too! HA! Thanks for coordinating!
  12. Back in the chair with Rubendall in two weeks to continue work on my back piece after a long summer break. Henning should be in town end of the month for a couple of sessions on my back as well. Slowly but surely.
  13. eBay and Amazon has a bunch of fundoshis listed and of course man thongs ;) I might have to go that route too. Seeing Rubendall in two weeks for more lower thigh and ass work as well.
  14. One more to my list of fairly new but amazingly talented tattooers: Wendy Pham! I love her creatures and critters and she's a great artist: Conspiracy Inc.: Wenramen WENRAMEN
  15. Praying Claudia makes it to NYC one day. LOVE her girl heads and florals. She does amazing Japanese work too.
  16. This was just posted a while ago, a tribute video to Henning Jorgensen's 30th Anniversary at Royal Tattoo in Helsingor, Denmark. http://youtu.be/iW0062RoRiY
  17. Awesome idea @Graeme !! There's a young guy on Instagram that I follow who goes by the moniker: Akuma Shugi which I think is a cosplay tag or nickname. Anyways, he's putting out some really fun tattoos. Appears to have started 2010-2011 but I can't find solid info. I believe he tattoos out of the UK. https://www.facebook.com/akuma.shugi AKUMA SHUGI Then there's Anna Day from Australia. Lots of black and grey line and dot work. Looks like she started 2008? https://www.facebook.com/annatattoos Anna Day | Westside Tattoo And also Tamara Lee. Mike Rubendall picked her out as a rising star in tattooing. She does great dotwork. Started 2010 Dotwork by Tamara Lee https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tamara-Lee/299985620053414
  18. The pics on Instagram coming out of this convention have been INSANE!!! Tons of fantastic talent artists cranking AMAZING pieces!!! Hope everyone is having fun out there! Looks like an AWESOME time!
  19. We're all winners to be able to see both of these amazing tattoos in the same thread. JoJo's crab is killer as well!
  20. Criminal or civil case? Three months is a long stretch for jury duty.
  21. Nice! I just sent out the print to @hogg today! @Iwar will be in the mail next week. Just have to coordinate with @gougetheeyes and @slayer9019 locally and we're good to go! Cheers fellas!
  22. Most of my sessions have been 4-5 hours on average, nothing shorter than 4 hours. Several times I've sat 8-9 hours, mostly with Henning. We try to squeeze in as much work as possible when he's visiting. My first tattoo was with Henning and the entire experience was an all day event. Walk to subway, subway to LIRR, LIRR out to LI, cab from LIRR to Kings Ave. That's about 1 1/2 to 2 hours travel time already. Arrive 12-12:30PM. Other than email communications, hadn't seen Henning since the first time I met him in about 1 1/2 to 2 years earlier. Short conversation, Henning begins to stencil me and draw, which takes about 45 minutes. Then we get to business. Couple of bathroom breaks, a 30 minute break for lunch, then back at it. Henning would ask how I'm doing and I tell him I'm fine. Do you want to keep going? Sure (with no frame of reference). By the time all was said and done, it's about 8:30PM. I literally get home about 10:30-11PM.
  23. @BrianH Thanks brother for stepping up and filling in for my oversight! Exactly the reason why I like this site so much and the people on it! Let's stick to my original plan where I will send out a print to @hogg @Iwar @slayer9019 @gougetheeyes . @BrianH can send his print to @steve1461686340 Folks, PM us your info and for the locals if you want to meet up, let's set things up for a hand off. Again, cheers to the LST crew and keep up the good work.
  24. Please please keep this thread going. I'm looking up these names on Google (thankful for this part of technology) and just reading up on the amazing history and backgrounds of these tattoo artists.
