So about the bun-twitching.. honestly, my best bet has to been to just keep it clenched. Sounds dumb and hilarious, but that's all I've been able to do to keep it from jumping up into the needle. Kahlil and I have had many laughs about the rogue jumping asscheeks, and he said he basically had to keep the muscle contracted the entire time to keep it steady as well. Hope that helps

@BrianH Hats off to you, bud. That looks amazing, you earned it (:
@sophistre I love it! So sick! Can't wait to see more

And I don't have any recent photos of how mine is coming, unfortunately. I think the closest I can post is this one below. Anyway, did a chunk on the ass on Tuesday and it was pretty crappy. Seems like we're starting to close in on this thing though, just the sides and bottom of the ass, and the thighs left. About 66 hours and 1 year in.

I posted an update in the Initiation forum, but realized it isn't as widely seen. Here is a condensed version:
Session 3 on the dragon sleeve is done. I went in thinking we would color it in and I'd be done or nearly done. Nope! 5.25 hours of green and red. In the ditch. Ouch.
    April:

    May:

    Last week:

I'm very happy with it so far, but dying to get the final touches of detail into the dragon.
I count 120 cherry blossom pedals all the way around. Given that 2 min each average is four hours, I'm doubting we will even finish next time.

Not entirely true. From my understanding, dragons are neutral, but the majority of the time tend to be good omen. There are many instances in which dragon fight humans. Tamatori the pearl diver running from Ryujin is a good example of a ryu/human conflict. Or Susanoo who slayed the dragon Orochi to save Kushinadahime. Or the dragon that was eating children that the goddess Benzaiten soothed with her beauty, and latter (in some stories) married the dragon. There are other instances in which a witch transforms herself into a dragon as well, and stories of multi-headed evil dragon. Although rare, there are certain instances in which ryu fight swordsman.
But as for your tattoo, less is more. If I were you Id just go with a dragon skeeve with nothing else, but thats just me.

Everyone has pretty much said everything that I was going to say. I like the idea of submission being separate from the voting process, I like the point/poll recommendation, and I definitely think it would be great if there were separate categories for one shots, and "the big stuff" -- sleeves, pants, torsos, & backs. Just cause I feel like a lot of really incredible small/medium sized pieces don't get proper clout with the magnitude of a large-scale tattoo competing for attention.

edit: Also I'm super stoked that the contest is coming back! The video was cute haha

I edited the quote intentionally so that the info didn't remain in my post. It's not really a big deal. Also nothing wrong with talking about tattoo experiences at all, in my opinion. It was just the brand of rotary that was mentioned, which falls under the technical equipment umbrella.

@mmmsarah where people run into problems at LST is when they beat a dead horse - post or create in 3 or 4 different threads looking for some sort of validation of their tattoo or tattoo idea - no one is bullied or picked on here - but you'll get honesty - and if you're desperate to get honesty in 3 or 4 different threads about the same damn thing - then thats what you'll get - yeah obviously traditional styles win the day here - but thats also because they tend to make the most solid looking tattoos

I like the idea of a tattoo community, here and in the real world,I do feel a brotherhood/sisterhood connection with other tattooed people,I am an outgoing person and  I enjoy interacting with other tattooed people in the real world, some tattooed people are open and receptive to conversation, some aren't.

either way, yes,I believe there is a connection here and in the real world amongst tattooed people. But at the same time I do welcome questions from and conversation with plainskins as well.

and in the real world I enjoy the stares and attention I get from being "different" because of my tattoos.

I would say the "tattoo community" is a very real thing and has been around for as long as people have been getting tattooed :)
I've been lucky enough to meet a good handful of people from the forum and have tattooed a good number of them and I am totally happy and proud to call them my friends. LST has played a pretty big role in my career, although discreetly. The interviews are pure gold and have a lot of soul and much to learn from.
I'm not as active here as I once was, but it has always been that oasis you speak of. ?

Thanks! I totally missed that rule in my skim.  I edited it down quite a bit, and I hope that falls more in line.

In this case, I was literally just sharing info available on his public Instagram in the last 5-7 days, but I totally get it. People can get that info themselves.

Can I ask, and I'm totally not trying to be a smart ass here, is this post ok now? In terms of generic rotary machine, and Saniderm sheet?

Just got this hannya giesha from Jeremy Lamos on my thigh. So happy with it. The actual tattoo didnt take long but it was a long sit. Felt pretty sick by the end of it. Had allot of fun with the eyes.

My evil plan is to have Henning fill in the space opposite Grez's fall piece with winter and spring botanicals. Mike offered to add more fingerwaves around the fall piece to tie it all together. I'm silly happy. @sophistre
