  1. Oh, I got the point alright :). At times though it's hard to hear what someone is trying to say when we are deafened by the anger of their words. My apologies for any unsolicited advice. I will recommence snuggling with the wife because life is awesome and I'm a peace loving hippy.
  2. @davidborjes No one here is trying to ruin anyone's livelihood. I didn't see any artists named, and it's not like there is a witch hunt to shut anyone down. Not terribly long ago I got a killer tattoo and no aftercare instructions, but I wasn't worried because Google and common sense are my friend. Whether it was an oversight or whatever doesn't matter much. I will still gladly travel across the country for more work from him. That being said, caring for a new tattoo may be second nature to some (to you especially I'm sure), to tattoo virgins it can be a source of anxiety. It's certainly not a boycottable offense to forget to give out the info, but it certainly will help ease the virgin's mind. I understand why you are angry Dave, although no one was attacking you personally. Being the cool guy you normally are, I'm sure the name calling and personal attacks are just a biproduct of you caring for your profession and getting a sensitive nerve hit. Let's all have a drink together and let the air out :) Have a good day dude!

    hello

As a fellow David, welcome to the forums!
  4. Might as well work on the other areas of your body until "takes forever" stops being the worry and "I'm so excited, when can I start it" becomes the predominant feeling.
  5. You all look fantastic! It's rad that you were all able to get together and have a good time!
  6. Hi Andy, welcome to the forums!
  7. Graeme making duck faces in the bathroom mirror ftw.
  8. My wife likes to name mine. The dragon I have is named Rufus, and the hawk is named Shaniqua....
  9. /hands athletic junk-armor to @hogg. Here dude, you might need this. I hear that she's been trained by Jean Claude. (shout out to @Delicious for the jcvd reference. It's been a while)
  10. If you have any interest in anime I can wholeheartedly suggest Attack on Titan. It has no qualms about making you love a character and then brutally murdering them. Imagine if Saving Private Ryan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and King Arthur had a baby. Now take that baby and feed it to some creepy-happy man-eating giants. 11. I think the problems you are running into here is that the primary purpose of this forum is to educate people on what a good tattoo is, not find them the tattoo they want at a lower price. As a rule it is preferred that pricing not be discussed (especially for specific artists). There are a number of reasons for this I'm sure, but foremost to me is that a person's first concern should be to find a reputable artist who does the type of work they want, and go get an awesome tattoo that will make them happy for years to come. If that means that you need to save up for a little while then that is fine. I think it's safe to generalize and say that the people who tattoo are just regular folks who live pretty modest lifestyles. The good ones spend a lot of time outside of just applying the tattoo to further their craft and make the customer happy. It's easy for some people to take that for granted when they think about what they are paying. The bottom line is that you can't put a price on a good tattoo. The people here care deeply about the art and work hard for it. Price haggling cheapens that experience and hopefully you can forgive those who are a little offended by that. P.S. I also work in ems, and I do it because I love my job. Comparing hourly rates to other professions will give you a headache. Should we make more than an ad executive or a drug representative? In the big scheme of thing, perhaps. But that's capitalism for you. You either accept that or go find a different job. Have a good day dude, I hope you find what you are looking for.
  12. No offense bud, and I do understand your perspective. You have a right to express your opinion, just be prepared when the boomerang comes back at you :)
  13. "you get what you pay for." "good babies aren't cheap, and cheap babies aren't good."
  14. It's a perfectly reasonable thing to say. Tattooing isn't the vehicle/computer industry. It has until recent years largely been ran by by a small microcosm of craftsmen/artists, rather than a committee running focus groups and assembly lines. The lamentable thing from my perhaps limited perspective is the advent of people who don't truly understand how it works influencing it. If it were the vehicle industry though, I much prefer the old days where the cars were crafted with care, by hand, and had much more flare/personality. The mass produced cars of today might be safe and comfortable, but they don't make you smile the same way that 66' corvette cruising down the road does.
  15. Very cool tattoo, thanks for sharing. Welcome to the forums!
  16. This is so far off as to not even register, but I was placed on Curtis Burgess' (tribal rights in colorado) waiting list. It will be approx a year and a half down the road, but I love his work. I can't wait to toss something at him and have him go bananas.
  17. Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing your tattoos! It's great to see a fellow comic aficionado.
