  1. Have an appointment with Curtis Burgess on July 12th for a creature mashup that is yet to be determined. It will be a fun day trip to Colorado.
  2. I didn't have as much solid black pushed into my crack (harrrr) as some of the other back piece alumni here, but I didn't find it nearly as bad as the love handles or oddly enough the right side of my back. I made a concerted effort to stay away from gas producing foods. The hardest part for me was not giggling when he started whistling, which sent a nice little breeze down the ass canyon. Gotta appreciate the surrealism of the experience.
  3. Heya folks, Niteowl tattoo Nw http://i.instagram.com/niteowltattoonw/ is having their grand opening in Everett next week on the 14th. They have a lot of fun artists guesting there and also attending the party. http://i.instagram.com/timmy_b_413/ http://i.instagram.com/randy_r/ http://i.instagram.com/lindsaybugbaker/ I'll be stopping in after work around 8:30 with some cupcakes and positive vibes. yar!

  5. Finished up with Rob yesterday. That guy is an absolute champion. It's hard to find the words to express how happy I am. Here's a link to his instagram for more vertical pics, hah. https://instagram.com/p/1y_HRiCO7e/
  6. I've done several gym sessions with the derm applied. I've found that sweating isn't a big deal, but it's been important to bleed the gym juice out of it. If not I start to get a rash as mentioned previously. If it's an option, I found it best just to stick to lifting during healing phase just to minimize the issue.
  7. Try http://i.instagram.com/suzannafisher/ http://i.instagram.com/matt_lentz/ http://i.instagram.com/krystendae/ Seattle, portland, and Vancouver B.C. are all pretty dense tattoo towns.
  8. The best that my back ever feels is after jiu-jitsu. My job is hours of sitting with intermittent intense activity, which for many is a recipe for injury. Rolling around at the gym helps loosen everything up, while building up the strength to support my back. I've also seriously considered yoga as a supplement.
  9. Here is a picture to illustrate my awesome socks, which I have found to be vital in keeping me toasty.
  10. Today's cupcake: Reese's cupcakes with marshmallow peanut butter frosting covered in a chocolate shell. Also on the menu: ass fire. https://instagram.com/p/0q7CxFiOzE/
  11. Did another six hours yesterday covering the waist to knees. I watched a couple of movies which helped keep my mind off everything, although I found the ass/legs to be way easier than the lower back. We've got 10 hours total so far, and the next appointment is only in a few weeks, woot!
  12. Thanks [emoji2]. Aye, Rob is at Black and Blue with Bobby Tripp, who is another artist out of there I wouldn't mind getting tattooed by :). @Graeme, When I came back across the border I told them that I had been "visiting friends" per your suggestion. I got way less crap, hah. Lesson learned. P.S. I still have to take my wife's foot long hunting knife out from under the seat before the next trip.
  13. Had my first session with Rob yesterday. Probably the nicest tattooer I have met. Everyone at the shop was a blast, and even as beat up as I felt for a relatively short (4.5 hours) session, I can't wait to go back. We started off with the general wolf that I had wanted for years. Then after looking at some of the awesome norse pieces he had done recently we started spit balling ideas with Fenrir and a skull from one of the deer eating from Yggdrasil. There is a sizeable cover up at the top, and we start down towards the back of legs in the next session probably :)
  14. Heading up to visit Mr. Noseworthy on thursday for my first session. He has been very open to input and willing to bounce ideas around while the idea jells together.
  15. A lot of good suggestions for Seattle artists. Jesse Roberts is awesome, and only booked out a couple of months. Bo is in Poulsbo, which a short ferry ride away. Here are a few more artists. Instagram Bryan Kachel out of Rabid Hands. Instagram Levi out of slave to the needle. Instagram Stace Forand is up in BC. Have fun!
  16. So far we've got either a dragon or tighty whities. I also like the idea of the backwards robe (I have one with my initials), knee high ski socks, and a stocking cap. Pair this with a sherlock style bubble pipe and the look will be complete.

  18. Only 6 weeks until the fun times begin. It will certainly help to break up the doldrums of the winter months. The wife and I are going to the store this weekend to pick out fundoshi fabric. "Just like buying curtains" I told her "....for my balls." Any suggestions for patterns? I shall pick a winner and wear it proudly.
