  1. Thanks HaydenRose! I should probably just suck it up and message him and ask about it. I'd like to start by doing something to cover the arm band and then work my way up the arm. The blossoms I feel are "his"..he gave me the stencil so if I wanted any more I'd have it. The arm band is irritating me now since I have the new peony right above it so I really do want to get something done.
  2. Wasn't sure if I should start another thread but thought since this was another etiquette question it would be ok here. So, the guy who did my blossoms, feet and then my peony last month moved. He just happened to be back for Christmas so I got the peony. We'd planned on making the trip down to see him when I'm off work for a week in March so I could continue w/my arms. They're short officers for two months starting this coming week so JD will be working a lot and we won't be able to squeeze in the trip. It's a 4.5 hour drive to get there. The shop where he was at is 1 hour away. We could do that. There are a couple other artists there. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Addictive-Tattoo/164321993593599?ref=br_tf We could probably swing Omaha or Des Moines too if need be. I'd been talking to the guy who moved about where to go next w/my arm...would it be bad etiquette to have someone else do some of the flowers etc, or should I wait until he can get back up here again? My cherry blossoms for sure will wait b/c he started them and I want to add more on that side. But the right arm/shoulder/upper back is what I'm wondering about.
  3. True! It's only my opinion that counts! That's what gave me the idea of walking around w/the heads taped to my legs, to see if I liked it. I'm a mean wife and tell him I could give two shits what he thinks in the long run haha! It just gave me pause like oooo would it really be dorky looking? I *have* to have them tho, so they gotta go someplace, whether it be above my knees or the side of my leg. - - - Updated - - - More good company in the tattoo crazies-thank you! It's all I can do to not email the artist and talk about what I "see" in my head for the next few visits b/c I'm so excited. - - - Updated - - - That's a good idea too...I'd probably end up w/just a couple smiley faces w/squiggly hair above my knees tho.
  4. Clementine on the cat tree JD fashioned out of an old baker's rack. And two of the girls snuggled together. Clementine on the left and Goose on the right. Love those girls.

    Yoga

Have done 4 days of the 108 day program of Ultimate Yogi. That's 4 days in the past 9 days. It's pretty intense so I had to take a few days off in between, and then had a couple busy nights. Today was the Yin day, which I've never done before. I could've done it yesterday if I'd known what it was. Was awesome, I loved it, even tho it showed me how sooo not flexible I am! I felt like rubber after. Felt good.
  6. Ha, and here I scrolled thru every page in this part and still managed to miss that. Figures. Thanks for the link. Will check out the names listed, see if anyone is close by.
  7. Haha, phew, glad I'm in good company then! I wish it were warm so I could walk around in shorts and test it out, see how it looks, and then try it on the outside of my thighs. Might have to turn the heater on in the bathroom and hang out for a while in there.
  8. I belong to a jewelry forum, and it's not uncommon for members to draw things to scale and cut them out, tape them wherever the jewelry will be worn to get an idea how things will look, get some perspective. (I've done it myself) Has anyone gotten that obsessive w/tattoo placement? I ask b/c I mentioned tattoos above my knees to my husband and he thinks it would look funny unless they were large pieces. So now I want to print out some heads and tape them to my legs. Does this mark me as insane?
  9. Not sure, hafta mapquest it. - - - Updated - - - 11 hours to Ft. Wayne.
  10. Oh hey, thanks for the links! I really like that Mecca Tattoo. It's not horribly far away...farther away than the convention, tho, figures. I looked at some of the first rows of links on the convention page but hadn't gotten far enough to see those, so thank you!
  11. Eh, he's on duty that whole weekend, so we'll not be going. Figures. Still, if anyone wants to weigh in on any of the shops, I'm all ears.
  12. Not sure if there's any other Midwesterners here? Just got curious about conventions this afternoon and started looking around. One in Minnesota was yesterday so that's out! This is in a few weeks, so not sure if husband is on duty that weekend or not, but it's not that far away, which I like. Best of the Midwest Tattoo Convention | Presented by Shane ONeill Productions I don't know anything about tattoo conventions but it sounds fun. Lord knows I spend more than enough time googling and looking on pinterest and here at pictures, would be nice to see some in person. Is anyone familiar w/any of the shops that will be there, and have any thoughts on them? I know who that London guy is from watching some of that show, and when I first came here, a member sent me some links to some shops in my area and there's like three of them that will be there. (Liquid Courage, Black Squirrel, Grinn and Barrett)
  13. My feet scabbed a little, and then when the peeling started, everything stood straight up and looked so incredibly silly/strange, like weird petals sticking up off my feet. One of my coworkers was so freaked out she wouldn't stand by me b/c it made her want to throw up. I'd just keep putting your lotion on whenever you feel you need to, and it will heal just fine.
  14. So I am thinking to do a lady above my knee, similar to the pretty one I found earlier, and was browsing sparrows today. The thought being to do one on the other leg to balance things out. I found lady head-bird during my scrollings. OMG her FACE! So then I googled the artist and found a ton of gorgeousness.
  15. My parents didn't like it when I got my first, but they figured that was the end of it. My gramma didn't like them but she told me they were beautiful. When I got my frog and then Tigger, my parents liked those, and the frog made mom and dad consider tattoos for themselves...which never happened. The more I get, now, the more my parents raise their eyebrows. The peony from last month, my dad said "JAY-ZUS that is HUGE!" They don't really like them, but they don't say much besides "comments" about spending money on tattoos and then complaining about not making ends meet. pppft.
  16. Depending on what time it is, I'll eat lunch before going. If it's closer to in between lunch/supper, I'll eat a banana before going in, and have one in the car if I need it, and drink water during. After I get a cappuccino moo latte at Dairy Queen w/extra cappuccino syrup in it. And jabber to my husband a hundred miles an hour on the drive home b/c I'm all excited about getting it, and because it's over with.
  17. I'd have to actually agree w/you there! Not that men aren't nice to look at of course..I think JD would rather I had a lady head than say...Johnny Depp's head tattooed on my body. I like to look at women I guess! - - - Updated - - - Oh yeah, totally I wouldn't ask for an outright copy of it-I'd planned on changing things on it to begin w/ so it wouldn't have been an exact copy anyway, but now I don't know how proper that is, even with changes, since it's not just a drawing off a tattoo shop wall. I wish I could remember what I googled to find her in the first place.
  18. I asked about women having girls tattooed on them a while back b/c my husband isn't too keen on the idea, so I wondered if I was weird (not that I care if he doesn't like it), and was told to look up Tom of Finland. It was interesting! Not to sound dumb but, do you just find pics of heads you like and have the artist draw something up for you, or do you look someplace for flash? Now that I find out the one I fell head over heals in love with is a painting from someone I'll never be able to get to, I'm not sure where to go/look.

    Yoga

I just got this The Ultimate Yogi > The All-In-One Yoga DVD & Fitness Program not sure what it's like yet, hoping to start it this weekend. It's about an hour a day..so I need to either start getting up at 4:30 or make myself do it when I get home from work.
  20. Goh, jealous! Iowa's not anywhere on the Amsterdam radar ha!
