  1. Looks like my next tattoo will be from Frank Lee probably in the next week!

Just a heads up to collectors......Frank will be tattooing at Body Mod tattoo in Annapolis and should be up here in the Baltimore/Annapolis/DC area by the end of the week if all goes well! Not sure when he will be back this way so think about getting something if you're into his work!

    :)

  2. @Bunny Switchblade

    You were right about Geo.

He did a wonderful job on my chest, and on my friends arm.

We had the most enjoyable experience, probably the most fun I have ever had having a tattoo done. Seriously a very chill guy and talented artist. My friend and I spent 5 1/2 hours at the shop, and well, I couldn't be more pleased.

I am really glad it all worked out for you!

Just knowing he comes out to Independent Tattoo out here on the East Coast and guest spot tells me he's a good guy!

Those guys do some really good work and wouldn't invite someone in that didn't do good work as well!

  3. I think most of us were guessing Richard or Chad K even though they both technically do have shops. I can't think of anyone else that travels that much.

Only one I could think of was Boog....and he is pretty accessible as far as email!

Richard posts up here all the time and Jenn has always been really good about getting back to me at least!

Chad is a hard one to keep up with.....this is true.....lol

Sometimes when your corresponding through email the tattooist has a hard time seeing that. I say that just so they can see I'm serious and not just window shopping.

    Point taken....

  4. AS FAR AS THE TATTOO COPY RIGHT THING..... Don't take this the wrong way, but fucking get over it. SERIOUSLY it's all copying. EVERYONE STEALS: It's a matter of who you're stealing from if you have taste and you're stealing from Hardy, Roberts, Jerry, Malone, ETC... You're following tradition.

I haven't even seen the episode, don't care, I'm so sick of all the under twenties, and tens and five year old tattooers acting like they were the first person to come up with a design, it's all been done before.

I have seen close friends and artist straight rip off Richards original paintings tattoos I have posted up online, here, instagram, twitter, tumbler, and then no reference credit, or original design cred was given... then seeing all the killer remarks, etc... And each time I get all pissy about it Richard says... Can't get mad, if you put it out there someone is going to use it. , seen people rip off blackhearts shit, seen em rip off Major TM Logos, I have even ripped on Stella Artois Logo.

Once you put it online.....it's as good as flash!

I directly said that to Kristel and it wasn't really received very well......but it was definitely traced and even shaded in the same manner as two of her tattoos....so i can see her point!

BUT......once you put it on someone or post the drawing online....it's as good as flash and someone is gonna straight up trace it at some point and put it on someone else!

Isn't this why a lot of tattoo artists and collectors don't like to post the custom tattoos they have on them and have done?

I still don't want to watch the show....and all this just adds to me staying away from it all!

  5. Just checked out Eric's work, it looks awesome! It's great to find some of these lesser know tattooers that are kicking out awesome stuff!

Eric made a little name for himself a while back when Seth & Adam Ciferri, Aaron Caine, and Vinnie Myers were all in the Magazines! Eric is a very humble guy and really doesn't seem to care about anything other than perfecting his craft! The hummingbird he did on me is amazing!!!

  6. And, you can drive a little closer to Baltimore and see Mr. Matt Rinks. I would!

Matt Rinks does awesome work....he added a "trailer trash bunny" to my collection complete with vag & blown out butthole....lmfao!

Another guy you don't hear much about is Eric Gregory....he just sits at Little Vinnie's kicking out incredible tattoos every day!

Brady Duncan is in Annapolis, Maryland.......Tom Beasley is in Glen Burnie.......all these guys are in and around the Baltimore area!

ehh i more so set up the appointment with antonio because i already wanted to get tattooed by him and since my band will already be in frederick that day for recording... why the fuck not? i'll have to check out those guys though. baltimore is only a 2.5 hour drive or so from here so i could always drive down another time.

yeah man.....stop by Olde Line Tattoo in Hagerstown and check out Dave Kruseman's work!

He did my thumbs and the side of my head....dude is top notch and a really awesome guy!

It's right where I-81 & I-70 intersect...you'll pass within 3 miles of it on the way to Frederick!

  7. finally getting my back started on tuesday by max kuhn.

my band is recording in frederick, md next month so i also set up an appointment with antonio roque for while i'm down there.

Check out Classic Electric Tattoo in Frederick, Md..........Dave Kruseman's shop Olde Line Tattoo is like 30-40 minutes from Frederick in Hagerstown, MD.....and the shop Jason Reeder is in, Incognito Tattoo is in Greencastle, PA about 50 minutes from Frederick!

Baltimore & DC are within striking distance as well!

There are a lot of great artists you could hit within an hour drive of Frederick!

@gougetheeyes ...... when you come down this way hit me up and I will give you a list of artists to check out if you want!

I really need to ride out and see Clay at Black Label to say hi.....I pass through there all the time and have never stopped in to see the shop!

  8. i'm not sure if artists do it consciously or if it was your choice, but i like when colors for a tattoo are chosen based on what the client already has in the surrounding area... makes for a more cohesive piece.

We did discuss the tattoo just being a black & grey to make it stand out against the surrounding color....but i really wanted color so we looked at what was around it and made it so it did stand out on it's own but also tie itself into the work around it!
