We have an abundance of figs on our parents tree so I made grilled figs, roasted butternut squash, and ribeyes for dinner...i know kind of random but i was craving a steak.

Also made some Serrano Pepper Jelly on Sunday with the peppers from our garden.

mmmmm just made my first batch of sconesl! its something about fresh out of the oven scones that screams fall to me! i made them pecan maple and cinnamon. so flaky and perfect!

@dcostello the tomato variety for your info: Porkchop (yellow), Pink Berkeley Tie Dye (Purple/maroon), sungold (cherry), i think there may be a beauty king as well (blush/pink)...then jalapenos and seranos.

we had a party last week and had a competition level bbq-er cater the event. his brisket is ranked 11th in the nation. it was REALLY good.
we had:
homemade burrata and heirloom tomato salad (i made)
habanero shrimp
homemade sausage
smoked salmon in cucumber cups
brisket
ribs
collard greens
macaroni and cheese
baked beans
fruit
red velvet cake
strawberry cake with white chocolate frosting

Yeah, you guys are pretty cool ;) Seriously though, thanks to everyone who set the forum up, and for everyone that contributes and makes LST what it is. Wish I was in the bay area to actually meet peeps, but alas, Australia is a tad far. One day though... thinking I might have to make a trip to the San Diego convention in the near future...

She had the same tattoo on her forearm, but hers said "Angel's Wings Carry Me Home" From Social D. "Bella Demise" was her nickname, which suited her perfectly.

Wellllll. Since you said to be honest I will. Like the other I agree it looks stupid to have hand tattoos and not have the rest of your arms and actually the rest of your body done. It makes me wonder why you chose to get your hand tattooed before doing the rest. As far as the actual tattoo, it's by far not the worst I've seen. It's not something I would ever get and I wouldn't go to the artists. The reason is not the quality of the actual tattooing, it's the drawing. I'm not into new school or whatever people would call that style. Just isn't my thing.
Having said all that, if you like the drawing then there's no problem at all as it's your tattoo. If I was you I'd wait until I you have a lot more tattoos on your arm and then see how you feel about it. I have a couple tattoos that are actually really fucking awful, like I mean horrible. It used to bother me soooo much, I wouldn't wear short sleeves because I was so embarrassed by them. Then I started getting good tattoos and lots of them and now the bad ones aren't so embarrassing. It all just kind of blends in. A good friend of mine who is also a great tattooer once told me that he likes it when someone has a couple bad ones in there with the good ones because it shows that you love tattoos and wanted them before you knew about 'cool rockstar hipster shit' like a lot of the kids today who are just getting tattooed because it's the cool trendy thing to do.

I was just posting some photos on my instagram today of our garden. Well it's really my grandfather's garden. He lived on a farm growing up in Italy and kept the garden going when he came to Canada in the 50's. I can always remember him having a huge garden and even fruit trees as a kid. A few years ago they moved in with my mom and started a garden here (I'm living with her now too). He passed away in February but did plant some stuff in the fall and in the spring we planted the rest for him. Usually we get a decent harvest but this year it's gone crazy! Yesterday we got about 30-50 heads of garlic. Last week we brought in about 15 cucumbers, 5-10 zucchini, and countless beans (fava and green). We're still waiting on melons, and we have about 100 figs ripening on the tree (first year they've grown to size). We also just harvested a bunch of herbs to dry and preserve. So even in the afterlife, my grandfather's hard work has paid off and fed his family for another season.
