  1. I couldn't have said it better myself. I remember being in the mindset that tattoos had to have deep personal meanings attached to them or they weren't "good tattoos." I'm so glad that I didn't get any tattoos in that period of my life because the ideas I had were not good and I would've used up the limited amount of skin I have. It may seem like you have a lot of room now, but trust me, now that I've got all these ideas, all that open area is looking less and less infinite. Choose wisely. And I agree with @HaydenRose, lose the quote and find or draw an image that conveys the meaning of the quote.
  2. It sounds like it could be a mild allergic reaction to the tattoo ink. Does that hydrocortisone cream help? I would maybe see a dermatologist and get an opinion. At the very least, they could prescribe something that would help so you don't have to scratch your skin off.
  3. Man I can't wait to get a back piece. Just don't have the money to travel to get it. These pieces are very inspiring though and good motivation to save up for it. This thread is one of the reasons I love this forum.
  4. I agree. I didn't like Vanitas much either, but I did like it more than Passion. I do love In the Constellation, Hell is Empty, and Eschaton a lot. They are some of my favorite metal albums.
  5. Yeah I love samurai as well. @DevilMan That's an awesome design too. I'm jealous man. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on that beast! Who's got the pleasure doing that on you may I ask?
  6. I think the top right and bottom left would both look awesome as a back piece.
  7. After seeing the ad for the show where a guy wanted to get his dog tattooed, I knew it could be nothing short of pure garbage.
  8. A crawling panther is timeless man no matter who does it, although Mike Wilson does the best panthers.
  9. Sorry I thought it was watercolor for some reason. I'm not an artist at all so I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that. That's pretty awesome though. Have fun starting your tattoo collection.
  10. Welcome. Yeah the arm is a good spot for a first tattoo. I remember that feeling of excitement and nervousness getting my first tattoo. Good luck!
  11. Welcome Inna. I like that head dress painting. Did you paint that? Any tattoos?
  12. Yeah I didn't join this forum to do surveys. However, if you have some tattoo stories or pictures, I'm interested in those.
  13. I really like the one on the right. I've been looking through prints to find ideas for a back piece, but I also really love just admiring the artwork. I could look through books of these all day.
  14. Welcome to the forum man. I have seen your work before and love it. I had no idea you were from Madison. That's awesome. Do you visit WI often or mainly stay down in SC?
  15. Yeah that doesn't sound good. Pain, redness, and inflammation are all classic signs of infection.
  16. This is one of the few tattoos I liked from Ink Master. It's the super buff eagle that Craig Foster did.
  17. Yeah I saw that too. What a tool. Chris O'Donnell would guest judge that show and be disgusted by the shitty work being done. People are just so dumb sometimes...
  18. I'm finally getting my mom and dad tattoos with Julio Avila this Thursday. Dad will be a traditional anchor and Mom will be a traditional rose, both with old school nursing caps and banners, since they are both nurses. I've wanting to get these tattoos for 2 years now, but only recently had some design ideas I knew I'd love, so I'm pretty excited about it. That sounds pretty bad ass man. I'm not familiar with Yoni Zilber's work so I'm looking forward to seeing a pic when it's done.
  19. Any pics of your first tattoo? Congrats on your first one by the way and welcome.
  20. Dear god @irezumi, sounds like working at the hospital. The smells I mean, not the other stuff.
  21. Welcome to the forum man. How long have you been tattooing? What kind of styles do you like to do?
  22. Never heard of the genre fat metal, but I have heard of Crowbar. Like the song. Anyone heard of these guys? I can't get enough of them!
  23. Welcome Tim. Like Graeme said, this forum is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tattoos. Everyone has very good artist suggestions and are very friendly, so browse through the forum and definitely check out the interviews. They are great sources of history and are pretty entertaining as well. And I too want to know who did that tattoo.
