  1. Damn you're right :-( Do you have a Tapatalk account? I don't as I didn't see the point for that. But I had to find out already that this is the reason I can't unsubscribe from threads using the app. Maybe these problems are related??
  2. Can anyone tell me if I have to turn up real early to get in by noon? Looking at photos from the previous years I see terribly long queues and according to the convention website they open the gate at 9am so people can get into the venue at 11.30am....?!? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  3. Just updated tapatalk and can "like" stuff on the tablet now as well ☺ Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  4. I'm totally with you! When I had the side of my thigh tattooed it took only three hours but I had to ask for breaks a couple of times because my lower back was killing me. I've had lower back problems in the past, so I just did a some quick stretching/mobility exercises that I'd learnt and it got better for a short while. The tattooer did organise some paper towel piles to put under the leg as a cushion but it wasn't enough really. I took a mental note at the time to bring a decent cushion next time. As it happens, I will actually get the other thigh done next weekend, so thanks for reminding me ;-) I guess I'm going to feel somewhat awkward to run around at a convention with a massive pillow under my arm but I'm glad to hear that there are others with similar problems...
  5. I like it, the tattoo as well as the subject, bikes are cool! I think sticking to the same colour for the bikes and changing the colours around them makes sense. It'll make it easier to identify the main objects. Which bike is next? Keep us posted!
  6. A few friends started calling me omelette after a discussion about the umlaut in my last name (which is German and a bit of a pain in the butt spelling-wise because people think they can just leave out the dots above the vowel but that is plain wrong!). Anyway...umlaut...omelette...omeletta....there you go.
  7. Booked in with Alix Ge to get a shishi lion and peonies on my thigh at the London Convention. Getting quite excited now but also a bit anxious. In a way not too keen to get this done at a convention but it does make things easier (and cheaper) as it saves me a trip to France.
  8. So, little update, I've paid my deposit and bought a ticket for the Saturday, yay :-)
  9. I think I'll be there on Saturday to get tattooed. I'm somewhat unsure though, as I haven't been asked to pay a deposit or anything. I kinda thought this was normal procedure, but maybe not all tattooers do this?? I've sent an email asking for clarification anyway, hoping it's not too dumb a question :-/ Assuming it really happens, I might well be up for a quick pint afterwards if anyone is around!
  10. Oh, and maybe this thread is of interest for you: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185
  11. Either way, I'm sure people on here will be more than happy to recommend some decent tattoo artists in your area if you let us know where you live [emoji3]
  12. I'm confused. What happened to the good ol' panther? Too trendy?? Sol, you're saying there is a nice spot on your arm where it'll fit, that indicates to me that you have a few tattoos already...so just put it there if you fancy it and don't worry. Sounds like it's not gonna be the only/first tattoo someone will look at, but rather one of many. IMHO, that's a difference somehow. Although it's probably not worth stressing about it anyway...
  13. That'll make a nice story for the grandchildren one day, haha ;-)
  14. That doesn't sound good. As it's possible to have an allergic reaction to it, it's advisable to check this beforehand and put a piece on before actually using it to heal a tattoo. I did this a couple of days before my tattoo and left it on for about 24h, just to make sure. Also, from what I could gather it might be worth trying another brand of 'derm'. Even if you're not reacting well to one of them doesn't mean you'll have a problem with all. This might make sense for @Dan too, BTW. I believe it shouldn't hurt that much and I think I've read somewhere this might be due to a mild allergic reaction or so, too...? Did you take it off under the shower?
  15. Hm, I don't recall it being painful tbh, maybe because I was a bit more of a chicken and didn't yank it off but slowly peeled it off bit by bit instead...?
  16. Love how the eagle fits perfectly between the other tattoos above and below!
  17. Urgh, what a creep. It gave me the shudders just reading this. I can well imagine the guy and how you really wouldn't want to come close enough to touch him... Good reaction anyway, I would probably just have been grossed out and not able to say anything intelligent at all in that situation.
  18. You're welcome! I'm actually not much of a water person in general, but I absolutely love Japanese finger waves :-)
  19. Another vote for violet. And I don't even particularly like that colour. But I think it could bring a hint of blue into the mix without standing out too much.
  20. May I officially hate you please? How many pieces by Emily have you got now...four or so?! I couldn't possibly live further away unfortunately, but I will save my left arm for her...one day it will happen, yeah yeah!

    Hi LST

I think you may have a soul mate here on the forum : @DeathB4Decaf ;-) Anyway, welcome...and who's done your work?
  22. Not mine (my arms are blank as of yet ;-)), but gorgeous: by Andrea Ottlewski, Slave to the Needle
  23. Somehow doesn't let you embed the image here....but clicking this link should work: View image: chestttt
  24. I'm with @DJDeepFried on that one. Wouldn't it be even more awesome, if the tattoo not only had a lot of meaning but also was a beautiful piece of art?
