A friend at work caught me in the hall and wanted me to show another lady the world map with population on my shoulder. She was quite disappointed that I had on a long-sleeved microfiber shirt under my button-down company shirt and asked why I was hiding my forearm tattoo. I explained that I was not satisfied with the forearm, and didn't want to wear it uncovered until the artist gets a chance to fix it (sure hope he can/will - booked for Feb 17). No problems with me having them! Just disappointed they have to wait to see them. One lady is quite conservative, too. The company is a huge multi-national, and I saw a Facebook status this morning that one of my awesome German colleagues is anticipating a new tattoo this evening (a dragon, I think).

I love that, polliwog! A very colorful, perfectly placed dolphin. (At least, it looks like one of my submarine dolphins.) So clean!

Actually SeeSea, my childhood nickname, inherited from my grandfather. I only use it in my home town, within family, and in forums. When I was a child, it was Ok, but awkward in verbal introductions (Pit? Kit? Ted?) So, I use Nathan usually (grandfather's given name). But I am a bit "loopy".

I get students from all over the world, and language does hamper us on occasion. They all have to learn terms like isochronous, Azimuthally Varying Field, multipactoring, and learn about positrons and positron emitters (all in two weeks!) Somehow, the weak English skills of my students (and my Appalachian dialect) seem less significant.

You will get the best info by going to individual interest sites. I wouldn't consider breast implant info valid from a site that also covered tattoos. Also, some of this crosses from the body mod area to medical arena.

When a child, ability to fly (although I was afraid of heights - still am - and did not like flying in airplanes). Now, ability to understand and speak all languages, although I still struggle with my native English (with Appalachian dialect).

The only way that I would add the initials would be like Hugh Haynie used to put "Lois" (his wife's name) in each of his editorial cartoons. If you are from Kentucky, you should be able to find references to that locally - he worked for the Courier Journal. Check under Nixson's left eye - this was actually one of his more blatant ones. According to the web site, Back Piece doesn't have gender classes. Judging for it starts 5pm Sunday. They do have Saturday and Sunday XL Color classes, Saturday gender-specific and Sunday mixed. Of course, it may all change before the show. There is also a Best in Show on Sunday (probably chosen just before closing). I could see either of you for that.

Considering where a farm vet has their arms often, who could complain? Most farmers are pretty open-minded, I've found. (I did summer work for ASCCS in Southern KY one summer, growing up in farm communities.) Now, if you go in for small animal work, the up-tight lady might discriminate before bringing you Fifi who's has eaten her pearls. You'll have a lab coat on in the office, anyway.

I noticed on the Ink Master finales (back pieces) that the ladies wore something like tape over their nipples and damn-near thongs. They came out in robes, turned around, and dropped the robes. I would think stick-on bra if you are more modest (or, tasseled pasties if not). Or, have a custom outfit designed and made (or do it yourself). Oh, and high heels for the ladies will probably get points. Most of these conventions seem to have burlesque reviews and things like human suspension, so I'd think coverage is up to your own personal modesty. Both you and Cork? Wish I could make that one! We definitely need pictures AND video!

Oh, I wasn't a lifer - just 8 years to get my 10 patrols and 2.5 years under the ocean. One boat (SSBN632) for five straight years after nuc school and then out. Would have stayed if they had offered a decent shore station, but all I was offered was instructor (and yet that's what I do now), SIMS, or recruiter. Na, I'll become a civilian thanks. They did send me to Rickover to interview for Shipping Port, but he wasn't interested (and in a foul mood two weeks after Three Mile Island). I had an invitation to interview at Oak Ridge National Laboratory waiting for me when I returned from DC, did my final patrol, then went to work at the lab for 21 years, now 15 years here. I still run into people that served on the old boat, knew guys I served with, or even the occasional shipmate. I go to most of the ship reunions because I tried to stay friends with all of them and forgive the few I ever had issues with. The next one is in Vegas, though... that might be too much temptation for more ink!

Add an S, turn the H into a Y (MISS YA), put a crack down through the heart - fixed! (Hope it never comes to that, it's a great tattoo and hopefully a great marriage.)

Yeah, I'm about 50% shed off right now. Never has hurt and only yesterday itched a little. I'm wearing a fake tattoo sleeve over it (kind of like a heavy nylon stocking) to keep it from rubbing against things and it contains the flakes so I can dump them in the sink when I take it off to wash it. There were still flakes all over the sheets and my recliner.

Congrats, SeeSea! I predict more photos by fellow divers of your work than of the fish! The concept and execution are fantastic.

Happy New Year to those who ride and have ink! Today I rode to meet about a dozen others for lunch at Cumberland Falls Riverview Restaurant. It was about a 200 mile day for me, probably about 400 for some there.
