  1. Completely? Doubtful. Enough for a cover-up? Expensive but possible. If it is a problem with it showing at work or such, they make pretty good, comfortable sleeves that will cover. If it is a problem with you not liking it, I feel ya. I had one (B&G so easier to lighten) on my forearm that I had lightened enough for correction (not a blast-over, but one to correct serious problems with the original). Still cost me of $1k just for laser work. Also, there can be scaring. Luckily, mine was in the form of pigment loss and slight keloid that just made to correction look better.
  2. Had a great time there yesterday! Even talked the wife into joining me, although I don't think she enjoyed it nearly as much as me. The "art fusion" contest is fun to watch - three artists each start on a canvas for 10 minutes, then switch for ten minutes, then switch again. The final outcomes are really different.
  3. So, I've done two. Both had plenty of "Irish pennants" after laundering, but they were a LOT easier to trim than the initial sleeve-removal. Might wear one to the convention next weekend. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry, old thought here, but where are you finding them? I wanted a couple and the only ones that weren't ragged cut-offs on Amazon were two-month lead time cheapies from China. I went to Walmart and bought a long-sleeve black Wrangler shirt and carefully cut the sleeves off, but I'd like to find some twill shirts made purposely that way. 5. I just plan to be a voyeur. Really hoping the wife will join me. Seeing the joy and enthusiasm kind of gives a new perspective on it. Maybe she will understand my ink desire a little better then. Let see that a church elder can have fun, too. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  6. Ok, Knoxville may be a scruffy little town on the Tennessee river, but it has a tattoo convention and it has some GREAT mountains (the Great Smoky Mountains, in fact) nearby. This is the 5th year for the convention, and I've really enjoyed the three times I've been. Location is in the bottom level of the Holiday Inn World's Fair site and there is free parking just up the hill from it in city garages. Here is the web site: http://www.knoxvilletattooconvention.com/ I guess the burlesque and other things non-tattoo are common to these shows (the local one is all that I've had a chance to attend). Enigma has been here with his act a couple times. What I really like about it is seeing so many people enjoying their passion. The artists at the show don't often have their names mentioned on here, but that doesn't take away from their talents! It isn't a huge show where the far side of the room gets lost in the haze from bodies. They use two big halls and a nice entry area that is set up for refreshments and vendors. So, take a little trip here to the hills of Appalachia. Knoxville is just a short hop from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the touristy areas of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Or if you prefer "the quieter side of the Smokys", you can enter the park through Townsend via 321.
  7. Are there drop-outs? My first had a few and the artist retouched about three months later. One other had a line section disappear in just weeks. She re-did it while adding color fill and it all looks great now. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  8. Some artists use the deposit to cover the drawing time. Mine has even shared parts of the design with me over email, but I've used her a lot. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  9. Scheduled for that day, because it is my last day at work. Once you have been to Sarah a few times she will book you on an email. She has a way to handle out-of-town clients, just email her. She likes cash, bourbon, and cool rocks. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  10. I just got an appointment with Sarah Hurst @ Vivid Tattoo in Knoxville for a celebration tattoo on September 29th. It will be my final day of work, starting the next chapter (retirement)! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  11. I chose the first day of summer to finish moving and piling the tops of a big oak that fell taking out the power line to my daughter's house last month (power is all repaired). After that I mowed her yard (really wanted to get the month-old growth from under the tree) and started ours. Then I had to replace a valve stem that got knocked off the garden tractor. Luckily had a spare in the motorcycle kit. Then back to finish the ~2.5 acres (none of it flat). Got home fro work ~3:30, ~88 degrees. Finished ~7:30, ~83 degrees. About 90% humidity. Took all of yesterday (pouring rain) to recover. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  12. Sarah placed the tattoo on my right shoulder much higher that I originally wanted it. I'm so glad she did! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  13. I would think soaking it off in a warm shower would prevent that. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  14. You won't find it at the shop I use. Sarah is sensitive to strong smells (as am I) and requests no perfumes, aftershaves, etc. Another plus for me! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  15. An awesome experience, and I'm sure that they enjoyed the respect that you showed them. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk

  17. Went to Sarah @ Vivid in Knoxville yesterday for color on the correction of a faked line tattoo. I'm very happy with this, now! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  18. Had one on my forearm lasered three times to lighten and then a cover-up of the same design, but executed very well this time. Pain, healing, etc. were easier if anything. Now, she did try to stay away from the raised (keloid, I guess) scar from the first artist's over-work (that had caused blowout that he in turn just darkened worse). I go back next week for adding color (not much, but to make it pop more).
  19. Nice looking lid. I wear an HJC ISMax with Sena Bluetooth headset. My Symax as well as all of my other gear was destroyed in August in a 49 mph get-off in interstate traffic. Gear does work! Was just thinking when I got home today that I might just ride (20 miles) to work tomorrow. I have heated jacket liner and gloves, so it is cheating a bit, I guess. 2006 GL1800 GoldWing. 20. There is an entire sub-forum on tattoo removal and cover-up. I suggest you start there. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  21. I suggest you find a local shop that does this stile. Those discussions are not allowed on here. Good luck. Maybe someone on here can suggest a shop near you doing this stile. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  22. Stress-less? I was rear-ended on the way to my first tattoo. Had planned a nice meal at Twin Peeks, but instead it was a Sonic burger and shake, so that became the tradition (minus the wreck). My sessions have never exceeded four hours, so I'm not worn out. I usually get in soon after she opens ~2pm. I don't want to have her working on me when tired or aggravated by a bad previous customer. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  23. You post it online, and if it is really good you can bet it has a good chance of being stolen. Post it on Pinterest, and the probability is over 95%. You just have to take it as part of the deal. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  24. Not even a little close, but faded enough for a good artist to fix it. I've seen (admittedly, on the devil Pintrest) pictures of some pretty well erased by Go! In Allentown, but I had to use locals. Realize, this would take several years and look even worse in the process. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  25. If you are worried about work/school/social reactions, they make sleeves that are surprisingly comfortable. From personal experience of having a poorly done piece in the same area and size lasered for re-work by a better artist, you're looking at $2k to make it go away. And that is a conservative estimate. I didn't think the pain was all that bad. Then, there is always the tried-and-proved black panther cover-up, but somehow that doesn't seem like what you want. I'm sure she left you with many great memories to help you through. Maybe some of those can help you make peace with the ink. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
