I started doing Iyengar yoga a few months ago, I have scoliosis and I'm a tattooer so my back is fucking SHOT. After a few weeks, I felt like a new man. Pretty remarkable how much better I felt almost immediately. I've ben going a few times a week pretty consistently now, I find that not only am I physically feeling better but I'm also a lot more mentally focused. I highly recommend it. The real shit though, like Mysore or Iyengar style, not that jazzercize bullshit they do some places. Any of you other dudes into it?

I would like to know what is the best way to find a good cover-up tattoo Artist? Can every tattoo artist do a cover-up? Do all Artist like to do cover-ups? I'm having a real hard time finding one that has cover-up experience, i have found a few that say they are experts, but after looking at their work i get the feeling that the reason why they are the only ones that do it is because no one else in the shop wants to do it. Their work is not very impressive! So what do you look for on an Artist that does cover-ups? If there is any Artist out there in California that can fix/re-work or cover what i have please contact me.

So when writing a tattoo post recently I had this idea to start a new game like a "Where's Waldo" type game for tattoos. So rather than trying to find a guy in a hat with glasses and stripes I thought we could post a picture of a tattoo and let everyone take a swing at what the mistake(s) of a particular tattoo are. This is not too pick on people but to remind us as customers and tattooers to double and triple check the stencil before we get tattooed because bottom line as the tattoo consumer if we give the go ahead after looking in the mirror or what have yous the tattooers tells you to do it is our, the customers, mistake. So to kick it off, here is a tattoo, "Man's Ruin", on the inside of one of my arms. It was hard to get a good picture but this should work if not let me know and I can try to get an even better picture of this tattoo mistake. Let the tattoo games begin....heckle on...

I am sitting here trying to figure out the best way to arrange a trip to SF later this year (hopefully) solely to get tattooed. It's just that while visiting I want to make the most of it and hopefully get tattooed by a few artists during my stay. What concerns me is that probably most of the artists that I would like to get tattooed by have long waiting lists. If I'm going to pull through financially I have to book a fairly reasonable flight a few months in advance, and maybe stay for a week or so. So, to the artists here; How do you prefer to make arrangements with clients travelling from abroad to get tattooed by you? I'm assuming that you require a deposit, but do you usually find room in your schedule if you're approached by travelling clients with a few months notice, or do they just have to get on the waitinglist and get the date they're given like everyone else? I guess this is a very broad question that probably varies from artist to artist. I'm just having kind of a hard time figuring how to go about planning a trip like this. Any enthusiasts here have any input and/or experience on travelling somewhere to get tattooed by several artists in the same area? I'm a newbie when it comes to this so any tips/pointers/help is greatly appreciated!

OK, so the article is about the tattoo biz being recession proof, but as a side note: It REALLY fucking bugs me when tattooers talk about how much money they make to the media. What a douche bag. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39641413/ns/business-us_business/

So as you may or may not have seen there were some request to start a new area for tattoo designs (thanks for the feedback!) so the LST Team decided to add a new tab obviously titled "Tattoo Designs" as you are here. But no one seems to be writing anything so I figured I would make an intro to our new tab and try to throw some gasoline and an M-80 on the fire to get it burning! Please do not let the title of the tab limit your writing, pictures, ideas, creative muses, etc to tattoo designs but let it be any art. What, who is your muse for a piece and how do you decide what genre/format to do it in? We see hundreds/thousands of dragons, tigers, skulls, roses, nautical, script, girls faces, daggers, yada yada art yet it continues to be done. There is nothing wrong with any of the above as I always enjoy seeing each artist or tattooers flavor added to it. For all you "foodies" out there think of the various spices or flavors chefs try over and over to make their own unique meal. Their own unique burger, grilled cheese, salad, you get the picture! Oh yeah if you have art or flash or tattoo machines or what have yous post some info with a link under the "Vendor Marketplace" as that are is pretty silent as well and we hope will generate some new business for you!! On with the bag of M-80s, lets do this......... I think the best roses are done by Tim Hendricks and would love to hear how he came to how they are now???

Hi - im new here, but i figured as i was going to make this thread there wasnt much point in making another to introduce myself. Im 18, and just moved to a new country (huge change in my short life) and away from my parents, who have been my biggest supporters in everything ive ever done, and have always been there for me, so i thought i might get a tattoo to remember them. As i said in the title this will be my first real tattoo, i was pretty stupid and got a tattoo from a homemade gun a while ago, came out terribly but ill get it fixed eventually (i know, im an idiot, try not to make fun of me for that) anyway this is a really rough sketch i did, im absolutely un-artistic, so dont laugh, its just a basic idea. I want the ying yang part because my parents are polar opposits, but they work so well together, and 20+ years on i think they're still in love. The koi fish was just a way to represent each of them, one fish is going to be a more masculine blue, while the other is a more femanine orange or something along those lines. Hopefully ill find a good artist to take my idea and make an amazing peice of art out of it, and make it into a half sleeve. So what do you think? Good idea, bad idea? Think it will make a good tattoo? Thanks for your opinions. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

There's all kinds of stuff on here about the worst tattoos you've seen and pain in the ass clients, but what about the ones you love? For those of you who watched Nick Colella's interview, you'll remember him talking about a client who got his first tattoo with Nick. After that they've attended each others weddings and become close. It made me feel really good, because we so often forget about the awesome people we meet in the wake of the psycho drunk assholes that affect our day so much more strongly. So let's chat about some of the awesome people who you look forward to seeing in your tattoo shops. Ps this post is also partially inspired by an awesome repeat customer of mine named Alanna who posts on LST regularly and has taken a truly responsible interest in good tattooing and traveling to indulge her new hobby. She also brings us cookies and is also always an uplifting presence in the shop. We need to celebrate radical dudes like her who got into tattooing post tv show, but have a pre-tv show reverence for the trade.

so my right wrist (my tattooing hand) has been giving me a heap of trouble recently, ive had to switch to lighter machines and get acupuncture twice a week to help it, but it still kills. I guess if im not tattooing, im drawing at home or the shop, so i dont really get a chance to chill and not use it. do other tattooers suffer from something similar and what other suggestions do you have?
