  1. I like Canadian Club whiskey... It tastes good mixed with water (only way I drink whiskey) and well... it's Canadian hahaha... most bars in the USA don't have it (at least the one's I've been to don't) I have no idea if it's scotch or single malt or any of that fancy shit.. I just know it tastes good and I likes it... I hate, crown royal, jameison, jack daniels
  2. yup i agree with gouge, once the flakes are pretty much done, pool is a-ok!
  3. ughhhhhhh It sucks that there's so many of those dudes in Canada (he mentions a town he once worked in, it's in ontario)... For some reason there's just soooo many fuck heads like that and only maybe ten good tattooers in the country hahaha.. i mean there's probably more than 10 but not that many more..
  4. for me the easy ones were elbow, shins, inner arm i kind of feel like the people who ask where to get it so it hurts the least shouldn't be getting it at all... like someone mentioned earlier, the least painful place for a tattoo is on someone else!

    Who are you?

I very much enjoyed your list of likes and dislikes hahaha...
  6. put the i love cats video on repeat... follow that up with the Nyan cat smooth jax remix
  7. I can't remember which ones I've watched cause it was a while ago but it's a cool idea and it's nice to see someone who actually goes to good artists. I remember seeing something on tv where a guy was travelling around getting tattooed but he didn't know shit about who he was getting tattooed by and why.
  8. I think Thomas Hooper wear his face/head tattoos really well.. he's the only one i've seen who's face tattoos i actually really liked... they are more hairline /scalp tattoos than face tattoo thought... i've never seen chis or freddy in person so i don't know what they have

    Book thread

My last message - sorry if it seems out of context to the discussion, I was writting it at work on the iphone app and there wasn't any replies to the thread when I started haha. eReaders - just don't get the Sony 'Reader' it's really shitty compared to the other ones out there. I got one for free and havn't used it at all. The only thing I did was try to read the pre-loaded book which is Pride and Prejudice. I got through the first 12 or 15 chapters and wanted to stab myself in the face on account of being soooooo bored. 15 chapters into a book and NOTHING is happening..
  10. I'm glad they aren't readily available to the public because we don't need to be seeing horrible renditions of them plastered in every shitty shop and on a million assholes t shirts. At the same time they are readily available to be tattooed in most reputable shops. The sheets themselves arnt for sale of course. I know a lot of people who own the mass produced sheets he did. Like the 'grim harvest' or the 'odds and ends by rollo' and the others from that set. They are printed on kind of a card stock and are just lined and shaded. All of those people are tattooers and I've been lucky to have access to those sheets and based my last ten works on them. I too wish I could have been tattooed by him. If it's some kid of project or something you're working on you could try contacting Doug or Ed Hardy. I know he was close with Ed and taught Doug to tattoo so they probably have some rad shit from Mike in their shop. I don't know if they'd be willing to share but it never hurts to ask!

    Book thread

Welllll of course almost everyone on here will have the huge shelf of tattoo/art reference, and I am one of those. A lot of them belong to my dude but get just as much use from myself as they do from him. I also have a decent collection of new and vintage embroidery and sewing related book of all kinds. As far as novels go I am the type who almost never reads a book more than once, so I often borrow books or give them away when I'm done. My permanent collection is small but includes Bukowski (the novels, not that into poetry) some Chuck Palahniuk and a few Tom Robbins novels. The best novel I read this year is Street of 1000 Blossoms by Gail Tsukiyama. It's an historical novel about Japan spanning from about 1900-1970's. It has amazing information about sumo, noh, and world war two. It's actually the only book that has ever made me cry. The focus of the book is a family consisting of two young boys and their grandparents who take care of them. It follows them from early childhood through to middle age. I learned a lot about Japanese culture and customs from this book while still reading an amazing and compelling story. I recommend it to anyone with an interest in Japan. I also read a neat book called The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night by Mark Haddon. It's written from the perspective of an autistic teenage boy and really opened my eyes to that world. It's a much shorter novel that can be read in a couple days, great for a weekend away.
  12. So I'll let ya know sibce I've decided not to bid on these because at the moment I shouldn't be enlarging my collection since I won't even be home for at least another 4 month. There's two pieces of Malone flash on eBay right now. Currently the bid is $15 each but it's still got 4 more days so they will likely go much higher but good luck if you decide to bid!
  13. Do you guys think bottom of fingers hurts more than the sides? Cause that wasn't very nice
  14. I've had a tentative appointment for about a year to get the underside of my finger done. I was going to do a sewing needle with the point stopping at the end of my finger. I've been to scared to keep any of the dates/times I was supposed to actually do it Hahhahaha. And of course during any down time at the shop I've always got an excuse like I haven't eaten yet or I'm too tired
  15. I didn't realize there was a random video thread....
  16. i agree, if he gets mad at her for getting an actual good tattoo then he's a retard who shouldn't be teaching!
