  1. They recently opened a VooDoo Donuts next door to Lifetime tattoo in Denver, as far as I know it's the first one outside of Portland (?) Cash only though so plan accordingly
  2. When did you get the tattoo? Doesn't look fully healed to me, just give it some time.
  3. Summit Tattoo Invitational - March 19-22, 2015 - Breckenridge, Colorado Crystal from Gomineko books is putting together a convention just down the road from me in Breckenridge, Colorado. It seems a little early to put this thread up but the website is going and I figure with this much talent in one place some of you might like a heads up to plan a nice trip to the mountains, haha. Just browsing through the website I noticed they have a lot more artists confirmed on their instagram @summittattooinvitational than they have up on the site so far, but it's shaping up to be a real good time. I'm starting to get really excited for this event, and I was thinking if any of you were to head this way for the show we could organize a little LST get together in the area, there's lots of good food to be had, and maybe we could ride snowboards (or skis!) together for a day.
  4. Welcome, who have you gotten tattoos from?
  5. Do not start threads asking questions about "breaking into the business" of tattooing.
  6. Overtime, overtime, overtime! I'm getting a little tired of 11 hour days but in a union job with a stingy company I gotta get my extra hours in when they let me. By this time next year I expect to be in a salary position where overtime will just make my time worth... less, so right now I gotta get it in. Also I plan on going down to red rocks next weekend to see the Avett Brothers, mostly so I can see Lucero open for em though. Might stop by Dedication and get my girly a gift certificate to get her half sleeve started.
  7. My last two tattoos have been pretty impulsive, subject wise anyways. I had opportunities to get in with some awesome tattooers, showed them the spot and bounced a couple ideas around. I thought it was a really fun way to get tattooed.
  8. Yeah, pretty much. Just passed 3 years sober but I can't seem to lose all my durgs knowledge, ha
  9. Hi @cloudkicker Generally we don't talk price around here, pretty sure it's in the rules but either way it's kinda bad form. Lots of variables go into pricing a tattoo and we try to concentrate more on the quality of the work more than anything. That said, a backpiece is definitely a huge commitment, a lot of time and pain will go into it, but you can break it up over sessions that are easier for you to manage. Maybe you would spend more on it than a new car, but you won't have your car for life, will you? I don't have my back done yet, but from what I read here an 8 hour session on the back is some serious warrior shit, shorter sessions throughout the year could be more manageable for both your wallet and your pain tolerance. Again, try not to stress the price so much, this is something you're going to have forever! Remember, a good tattoo ain't cheap, and a cheap tattoo ain't good. Looks like you've narrowed it down to a coulple of great tattooers also, I know a few people on here have been tattooed by Jess and could probably tell you about the experience.
  10. @Mick Welder CBD is the other, non-THC active ingredient of marijuana, responsible for the heavy, drowsy "couch-lock" feeling you get from a more indica based strain
  11. Welcome, I'll echo the request for pictures. What did you get from Mr. Zuck? Enjoy your trip sounds like a good time
  12. Welcome to LST! Who has tattooed you so far, any pics?
  13. I've been seeing a lot of phases of the moon and also pineapples popping up on the instagrams lately
  14. Somewhat related: On Friday I went in to Lifetime tattoo to catch Mr Shrewsbury during his short little guest spot, I had a weird spot I wanted filled, showed it to him, mentioned a few ideas and he asked me to come back in about an hour. We grabbed a bite to eat but it was super hot out so we went back after about 20 minutes, looked at the walls the remainder of the time, Adam came down with 2 drawings! It was nice to have a choice but damn was it difficult deciding between the two. I would have been happy with either for sure and wouldn't have asked for changes really, but he seemed stoked to be able to do something weird that he was really into.
  15. Welcome, sounds like a killer collection, got any pictures?

Welcome to LST! I'm going to jump in here and recommend not getting a design that you drew yourself. I understand that with your first tattoo the idea of total control over the permanent image you're about to have placed on your skin could be appealing, but I'd like to point out that professional tattooers are artists first and foremost (okay, a lot of them will identify as craftsmen over artists but you get my point). On a daily basis they are creating designs made to look good on skin, they see the tattoos come back years later and learn what works and doesn't as far as design (the drawing itself) and application. I wouldn't scoff at a pug tattoo at all though, my roommate has some dogs and I love the shit out of them, when I get my own place I plan to get a pup or two and it's pretty likely that I end up with a dog portrait at some point in time. Here's a few examples of awesome pet tattoos that I've seen lately: A couple from Guen Douglas (I know they aren't pugs but...) Fun one from Erikka James Sketch by Sock ...and the best put tattoo that will ever exist, by Ezra Haidet Just a little food for thought, feel free to ignore my advice and get your own drawing, I'm not trying to shit on your plans I just like seeing people with good tattoos made by good peoples
  17. Weird little gap filler from Adam Shrewsbury, cool dude, had a lot of fun today
  18. Getting something from Adam Shrewsbury tomorrow while he guests at Lifetime in Denver
  19. I was almost disappointed when I couldn't find any ignorant bad reviews on the shops I frequent.
