  1. Ordered the catalog and a couple tengui. Recently started trying to fill my walls with cooler art, slowly making progress.
  2. I figured we all thought it went without saying
  3. Going to Seven Doors is like using cheat codes
  4. As far as "the itch" goes, popping into a shop is a great way to deal with it, if the tattooer you have in mind has a waiting list you might still be able to get a quick consult in and get yourself on that list, or maybe they had a cancellation and have time to get you in that day; I know at least one poster on LST got an awesome walk in from Valerie.
  5. Where abouts in Michigan are you? Just in case AA is a bit of a hike we could probably point you in the direction of awesome tattooers more in your area. Also, welcome!

  7. So, on Friday we were sitting down having breakfast, talking about tattoos, and my girlfriend just comes out and says she wants to get a new tattoo today! We got in the car, drove down to Denver and stopped in Dedication tattoo, she talked to Andy about getting a dragon and some mums, he said that was a little too involved for a walk-in, would you like mums anywhere else? Looked at everyone's schedules, Sam had some time, traced the area and drew something up. I was happy to just hang out in the shop all day, usually I just run in, get a tattoo and drive home, so it was nice to be on the other side of it and check out all the cool paintings and flash they have. Andy got a nice healed photo of the wolf he made for me a few weeks ago. All in all it was a really good day. Sam Yamini, Dedication Tattoo, Denver She sat for over 5 hours! (she's way tougher than I am)
  8. Welcome! Who's been making your tattoos?
  9. Hi Kaley, who has done your tattoos?
  10. I really hope I have some extra dough next time he visits his friends at Tattoo Demon; really like those flowers he does but he's been incorporating those types of designs with more traditional imagery and I really need to get on that train
  11. Welcome! Let's see your tattoos!
  12. Tony Hundahl said it at the end of Gypsy Gentleman II: Austin
  13. I spent a lot of time researching and went to my first consult with a couple ideas to throw around, we went with the image that my artist said would fit the space best and that she was more excited about.
  14. Saints and Sinners Tattoo in Dallas would be worth looking into. Marie puts on some awesome tattoos.
  15. Yeah I would definitely look into Jeff Zuck at Name Brand Tattoo and I've really been digging Jon Larson at Depot Town Tattoo's work lately. I'd be happy to wear a tattoo from anyone else in those shops but those dudes are killing it in my opinion.
  16. My forearm was so damn itchy last night, I had a dream that I scratched it raw, got scared, looked at it and no damage was done. Not so bad today, hair growing back is, as always, annoying though.
  17. Where are you in Michigan? I'll always be recommending Name Brand in Ann Arbor or Depot Town down the road in Ypsi but if that's a ways for you to drive I might be able to throw out some other names. What kind of tattoos are you into?
  18. @BrianH trying to be patient anyways...
  19. What aspect of your broadcasting and journalism majors best qualifies you to run a tattoo shop?
  20. Again I'm not saying its a bad product, just sharing my experience. Perhaps it was an application issue and it's all my fault, I'll order some more and hopefully I have better luck next time, but I'm not really having any problems healing with conventional methods this time.
  21. So, my first experience with this stuff was kinda rough, I had issues with the application at first, couldn't quite get it to stick where I wanted it, my left hand is far from dexterous.... so I had my girlfriend help me apply some and it was pretty comfortable. Then I got my car stuck in the 8" of fresh snow, and in my frantic shoveling to un-stuck it, I worked up quite a sweat and half of it peeled off under my jacket. So I went back to my usual rewrapping method and everything is going smoothly. Maybe next time I get a different size or something, the 4x10" was tough for me to work with, even outside of the other problems I had. Not quite a bad review, just not the best experience... and I wasted $25 on the stuff.
  22. I had requested last Friday off for a tattoo appointment, didn't really specify what type of appointment in my request. I was given the day off, and the next day my boss is telling me how busy we were, how I had to change the schedule around "JUST TO GET A TATTOO!" I'm not sure how he heard, but it lead to a pretty funny conversation about the terrible tattoo reality shows. I'm not the only person in the company with tattoos but I was apprehensive before about letting people know I had them, now I'm much less worried.
