At the first response, I could understand why someone who's been drawing for 44 years would think they could manage a good tattoo, and I'd probably be willing to agree with them and give them the benefit of the doubt, but that second response, HA, what an asshole. That first line where he used "Junior" already made my blood heat, and it wasn't even directed at me.

Speculation here.... I would imagine it works fine, maybe that's why the tattooers have no issue backing it. If I knew of something that did an adequate job of healing, and someone paid me money to tell other people to use it, I would.
Looking at the ingredients it just looks like vaseline and an antimicrobial. I don't think anyone's conscience would have a problem endorsing it, especially if getting paid.
A belt sander on the other hand....

Oh damn, lumping everyone in to one category, no wonder it took forever.

Glad you got the experience, but now you see first hand how subjective tattoo judging can be. I would still say yours isn't big enough to constitute as a "back piece", but at least you got up there and got some good crowd feedback.
-
@BrianH if they are heavily tattooed and know what a full back piece entails I'll show them all the goods. Otherwise I usually just show the top and listen to all the comments about how they can't believe someone would get their ass tattooed.
@BrianH, I feel that Lance pretty much nailed it. Although first I usually ask, "How comfortable are you with male nudity." It usually gets chuckle from the person, and it also makes me laugh because people think I'm just joking around.

@BrianH I'm not one to be afraid of pulling off my shirt and dropping my pants but being self aware, I usually just show a pic from my smartphone first. Some people want to see it in the flesh and I would start with the shirt and depending on where the conversations lead, usually show my ass off too.I do the smart phone thing too sometimes. Usually I get a "NO way!" and I end up taking off my shirt anyhow.

@Cork - Yup, that was the girl. She took a picture up on stage with her and it had a purplish tint to it but I didn't get a good look at it. I wondered if her tattoo had some UV and she brought up a picture taken under black light. Completely speculation on my part, but I didn't understand why she carried a framed pic with her.
I think that people going in for best cover up had to have a "before" picture. Maybe it was that.
-
@SeeSea Haha well I was in that nudity category, so you give me too much credit. That woman in front of you though....yeah. The boots really make the outfit though. I think she won for best large piece, or best black and grey or something. I stole this pic from the Convention Facebook page.
So xcom this is a glimpse at what you'd be up against. I'd suggest entering the "large color" category. You don't have enough back to do the back, unless you've gone further down your back and I missed it.

Are you referring to the one they don't actually sit on anymore?
I'm not sure if you're making a joke here or not, but I don't understand the question. I've never seen an ad/abduct machine that you don't sit down on, but then again I haven't been to a commercial gym in 3 years so I don't know what sort of new fangled equipment could be out there these days.

Just remember: anything bigger than the pink dumbbells and you'll get "bulky."^^^My favorite lie told to women gym-goers. If that were true, I'd be massive.
You are massive, brotato.

This is a really old thread. Maybe @TigerBlue77 can enlighten us on his decision.

You don't have to have the artistic skill as the one receiving the tattoo, that's the amazing thing about tattoos! Have you shown this picture to the artist who you're interested in? I'm sure they can come up with some good ideas.
You seem to have an eye for traditional, cltattooing gave a great list.
-
Good job @tay943. Don't let those meat heads intimidate you. Nothing better than a confident woman grabbing heavier dumbells than some guys, ha. You guys have a pretty big bodybuilding scene in Australia so I can only imagine the competition in the free weight section. IMO the "free weight" section is the only section.

(I'm not sure if that's what is it's call but it's when you sit down on the machine and squeeze your knees together from a wide V.)
That's the good girl machine. The other one is the bad girl machine.

SHOTS FIRED EVERYONE GET DOWN
In honor of your PRs, here is me hitting some deficits. I'm coming back from an injury and plan to leave these weights in the dust soon. The final single is 315. I did it shirtless because look at how beautiful I am. Ignore all the body hair....

Hey everyone,
long time lurker, first time poster. I've read every page of this topic as this was my first experience with tegaderm. My artist applied a piece about 15 minutes after my piece was completed. After about 15 hours it was leaking EVERYWHERE ( he didn't leave enough space around the outside so an edge popped up and it was downhill from there) so I removed the original piece and went an bought a new one to place on it. I got my tattoo Wednesday (11th) and its now Saturday. I just removed the cover after the 3 days and it has immediately begun to peel and has become very dry. I'm just wondering if this is normal? Should i leave it for 24 hours before I apply any lotion? This is my first piece thats not font, so I am new to this kind of healing process. Also, any tips for bruising? I have a real nice bruise right along the inside of my thigh where the tattoo ends, it hurts like a bitch!
Bruising is normal, peeling is normal. I like to keep mine lotioned after the first week. I scab up during the peely phase if I don't.
-
if there's a thread discussing that stuff, let me know and I can share my experience.
For healing certain spots, I had great use out of it too.
-
Although I swear I have had more specific comments on the colouring and designs on my thighs than the rest of it.
Well the whole thing is great of course. I think on the internet the focus is on the thighs because the majority of the pictures you show us are focused on the thighs!
