  1. They didn't do a simple outline right the first time, but you're going to give them another chance? Sorry, I just don't understand why people do this. Past actions are the best predictors of future actions.
  2. I think how you take care of it is a factor too. If you are a sun worshiper, they will likely fade much quicker than if you always keep them covered up when it's sunny.
  3. Just say no. It's too dark, not enough contrast and hard to read.
  4. My tattooer got it from Phillip Leu. I was a little skeptical myself, but I can't argue with success.
  5. Per my tattooer, I take a 30 minute hot bath as soon as I get home from the tattoo. Let air dry for two hours then a little A&D ointment, rewrap and that's it for the night. Next day, I take another 30 minute hot bath, let air dry if I have time, otherwise a little A&D and wash/rewrap 3 times a day. I'm usually peeling by the third or fourth day so I then I just put cocoa butter on it morning and night for a week, then I declare it healed. I know a hot bath goes against what most tattooers recommend, but since I started doing that, my heals have been amazing. My colors still pop almost 5 years later.
  6. Just having a little fun. Seriously though, if you are OCD, you will certainly be more unhappy with the results if you try to fix it. You got lucky. There is so much God-Awful script out there and yours is nice. Revel in the parts that are perfect.
  7. Coming soon: I had my tattoo artist thicken one of the lines on a tattoo I had that wasn't perfect. Then that line made the other lines look imperfect so I had him thicken ALL of the lines. They weren't all perfect, as measured by an electron microscope, so I had the whole tattoo lazered off so I could start fresh and get it perfect this time, but even after 10 lazer treatments the skin doesn't look perfect. What should I do????
  8. Are you just going to keep asking until you get the answer you want or do you want the truth? The truth is that you are more likely to fuck it up worse than fix it. Stay away from tattoos until your OCD is cured. If you look hard enough and long enough, you'll find a mistake in every tattoo.
  9. Life isn't perfect. Accept it and you'll live longer and be happier. ;-)
  10. Quit driving yourself crazy. It looks fine. Get more tattoos!
  11. Thanks. Yes, the same artist. I really like his work and just haven't had the urge to go elsewhere.
  12. Ongoing piece. When it's done it will start at my ankle and connect to my chest piece. It's a tiger and samurai on my leg and dragon on my ribs/stomach. Just outline and shading so far on the dragon. We decided to work our way up.
  13. There are just some things you shouldn't try to save money one. And putting something on your body that will last your entire life is one of them. As Zig Zigler used to say, "Good things are seldom cheap and cheap things are seldom good."
  14. Yes, it would be totally inappropriate. "Hi, I love your work, but you are too expensive. Can you recommend someone just as good, but cheaper so I can spend my money with your competition?" You'll be unhappy about the price once. You'll be unhappy about a crappy tattoo forever.
  15. I got my first rib/stomach tattoo (still in progress). The ribs are bad, but the stomach is worse, IMHO. It was the first time I've ever said stop and I've got well over 100 hours work including sleeves, chest panel, back and legs. He hit it with some Bactine so we could keep going, but it was pretty bad.
  16. Making unsolicited negative comments about someone's tattoo shows a total lack of class.
  17. Fortunately red and I do get along. I have some purple that took well over a year to look completely normal. Never had a problem with any other color.
  18. For once having pasty white skin is an advantage!
  19. Latest work: 49likes5comments Can't figure out how to get the pic off of instagram. It's a tiger, part of my ongoing quest for full coverage. EDIT - figured it out!
