  1. I just had another appointment with Jill Bonny on my backpiece on Saturday. Have another apopintment on May 11th where Kumonryu will be complete and my back will only need background. Then I take a break from my back and in June I have an all day appointment with Horitomo to start both arms. Super excited!
  2. I am from the Chico area and the worst thing about Sierra Neveada is that they do not bottle and sell my favorite brews. It forces me to drive to the brewery and fill up growlers.
  3. My vote is the ass. After having a 3 hour session on the 17th and a 6 hour session on the 23rd all on coloring in a kimono with a phoenix on my ass it was the worst I have experienced so far. (and yes I am a relativley large guy.)
  4. I know they were giving them away at the State of Grace Convention. I picked one up. I may have an extra because my wife might have grabbed one also. I will check and if I do i can send it your way.
  5. I am trying to wait until my back is finished to post it. Plus I only have crappy iphone pics of it right now. That being said, I may breakdown and post it after all the color is done on Kumonryu. We did Kumonryu first because she was supposed to go on maternity leave and we were going to wait on the background so she and Horitomo could discuss how to best to do the background where it connects. As for my other completed tattoos they are nothing to see. They are average at best and were done about 12-13 years ago [one is getting covered into my backpiece (after laser) and another will be incorporated into the backpiece because we cannot cover it and it was not lasered].
  6. I have my 8th session on my back this weekend with Jill Bonny and during my last session Horitomo told me he was starting to draw up my sleeves. Super excited except for the fact that I am pretty sure this session is going to be color on my lower back and entire ass.
  7. I was at State of Grace on Saturday and Taki was talking about sending 3 people from the shop to this convention. I know he mentioned Beau Brady, but he did not say who else.
  8. Welcome...Maybe I will see you at State of Grace. I am usually there every other Saturday.
  9. I currently have an Irish Wolfhound and a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. I can recommend both breeds as great family dogs. (although not the best to pick up after...if you know what i mean) I also grew up with various hunting dogs (labs and german pointers/wirehairs used for pheasant, duck, geese, and dove hunting) which were higher energy, but also good family dogs.
  10. She is. Last night I caught her on numerous ocassions just staring at her arm. I was nice to meet you as well. Your back is looking great and your friends foo dog turned out awesome.
  11. Thank you! It is amazing and even better in person. I will try to get some pics to post with a good camera after it has healed.
  12. Had a great time at the convention this weekend. It was nice meeting and talking with @Scott R, @Reyeslv, @Stewart Robson, and @Valerie Vargas. My wife was super excited about coming away with this from Valerie: Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic and my lack of ability to take good pictures.
  13. You can purchase the prints for only $20. If you want an original it is quite a bit more. I know if you get the prints from State of Grace he will sign them for you. Horitomo does both tebori and machine.
  14. If she loves cats I suggest she go to Horitomo at State of Grace and get one of his tattooed cat paintings. They are freaking awesome. I have two in my office at home.
  15. I will be there with my wife on Saturday and Sunday. I have no appointments scheduled (considering i have appointments on my back the next two staurdays and a consult with Horitomo to final design and discuss when we are starting), but my wife has an appointment with Valerie Vargas on Sunday.
  16. I did laser through a dermatologist/doctor office. I could not find any of the affordable laser specialist in my area. That being said it was very expensive, but the results were great. I had five sessions and the super black tribal was almost completeley gone. I also never blistered and have no other issues with the skin that was lasered. I am currentl in the process of covering it up and my artist has made many comments on how great the laser turned out. Not sure that helps. In the end I think it all depends. Do your reserach as if you were going to get tattooed and you will more than likley find a good place to laser.Just be prepared for the pain. I would recommend lidocaine or some other topical numbing oinment. It sure helped me out.
  17. I have also had laser done (6 sessions) and did not bleed.
  18. Yeah, sorry about that. I grabbed as many appointments as possible before her leave. How many more sessions do you have on your back? I saw some updated pictures and it looks awesome.
  19. It feels like that right now. Except does @hogg have two sleeves from Horitomo?
  20. Third session on my back with Jill Bonny tomorrow. Then two appointments in October and two in November. Then starting my sleeves with Horitomo while Jill is on maternity leave. Also may have an appointment with an artist at the SOG convention. Crosses-fingers.
  21. I wish I could make it, but already have plans to be out of town. I was talking with Jill about it last weekend and it sounds like it will be a great time.
