Yeah you’re definitely right regarding those heavy scabs and long healing time, thanks. I’m just relieved it’s turning out not as bad as I thought it would so far. Here it is just now, 24 hours after the final scab came off. The day after all the scabs came off always looked better I noticed. I know you’re right tho, I’m keeping in mind to give it another month, thanks for your comment.

Art and the appreciation for any style is subjective. That part is entirely up to you.
It looks well applied and I like it.

Did you use an app or something? It's the weirdest-looking post I've seen.
I have tons of American traditional. None of my art is symmetrical. Do whatever you like.

soderpopzzz reacted to Hogrider in At what point after removing tegaderm is the tattoo not an open wound anymore?
I exercise at home or a gym. I don't exercise the day after a tattoo, but start in the 2nd day after a tattoo. As for the sun, I would just keep it out of the sun. It won't kill you to stay out of the sun for a week. The sun isn't good for your skin under any circumstance, but I wouldn't subject freshly tattooed skin to it. My dogs are pretty mellow, but I keep them away from the tattoo for a week. I wouldn't want them rubbing against it or god forbid, licking it this early.
I'm probably overly cautious about my tattoos, but it's one of the reasons they all look new after 13 years.

It's really just semantics. What is it that you want to do? I'm usual pretty careful for a week, then cocoa butter and it's on its own.
I wouldn't go into a gym with it uncovered, but I'd go into a gym if I covered it up 4 days out.

I've got 25-30 year old tattoos that aren't faded at all. Keep them out of the sun and a good application will stay good. It will gradually spread over the decades, but not necessarily fade.

Quit overthinking it or giving a shit what anyone in your life thinks. Just enjoy your tattoos.

soderpopzzz got a reaction from SStu in is it okay to get a tattoo on the curvature of your forearm?
I usually bring my ideas to my artist and since he knows better about placement regarding muscular shapes and whatnot, he’ll tell me whether something will work or not in that area. As someone who likes tattoos but isn’t a tattoo artist, I always forget that the shape of the muscle and the way it moves needs to be considered. For the most part, my ideas have been able to work on where I wanted them but maybe a slight alteration in placement and/or design that still ends up working for both per my artist’s expertise

It’s not done healing. 4-6 weeks for normal tattoos. Given those scabs, I’d think AT LEAST two months.

What he said. Staring at it won't make it heal faster.

Just keep it clean and let it heal. And please quit staring at it. 😉

If it’s leaking outside the bandage, which it sounds like it is, you have to just remove it and just heal it normally is what I’ve been told. Makes sense too, if stuff is coming out then it’s no longer sealed to prevent things from going in

Don't be so harsh on it. I've seen tattoos WAY worse than that - most of which came out just fine. I don't think you have a "problem" at all.

It usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal, but that's a pretty big scab. Leave it alone, let it heal and in a couple of months you'll know what it will look like. DON'T MESS WITH IT!!!

No idea what it is. I got the tattoo touched up. It's still there. It's fine.
But yeah, don't do that worst case scenario thing. No tattoo is going to be perfect, and you are likely to obsess like that, I really wouldn't get any more tattoos because you will drive yourself insane.

It doesn't look like a zit to me. I wouldn't get a touch up on any skin that had an issue. Wait for it to heal.

I don't know how old you are - but in any case as you get older you will notice all kinds of new shit and other blemishes developing on your body. Most won't be tattoo related. 😉

I've had a spot like that on a tattoo I got 9 years ago. It's just a bump. I think you are worrying too much. Just wait a while and see what happens with it. I've never heard of a dermatologist telling someone to get a tattoo removed.
