One thing I love about still being in school is the ability to request pretty much any book through the library, thanks to this thread my school will be buying Bodies of Subversion and checking it out to me in a week or so, and because I'm a graduate student I can keep them for months at a time.

I can't stop "liking" them all! So many good tattoos! Just give em all a shirt haha
I think that's a fair compromise.

Several people took one look at the entry from @lving4today and decided "think I will save my entry until May's contest".
If only I had the foresight.

I guess I'll go first, but I already have a feeling that I'll be going up against some really tough competition this month.
Nick Colella formerly of Chicago Tattoo Co., currently going rogue until he makes an announcement about whatever he has in the works:

It's funny reading this now after having seen how awesome that tiger turned out.
As far as colors go, all the tattoos on my arm right now follow the general pattern in order of proportion: black, red, yellow , and then maybe one or two extra colors. I like the consistency personally, but then again, I think these are the "standard" tattoo colors, where as orange maybe stands out a bit more.

Saw that on IG, wondered if anyone I "knew" had gotten it...very, very kool!
Thanks! They both turned out even better than I thought they would. Now I just have to figure out the what, when, where, and how for my next. Hopefully there won't be a 9 month period in between tattoos this time.

Hi mate thanks for the tips. Some of those are already on there and would appreciate anyone wanting to add someone to check first that its not on there already as it will take me loads of extra time :)
Oh yeah, Lee Hanna, but that link was for the web page of Mando Rascon, who I think is still tattooing.

Just wondering if the person who do this blog minds me using his hard work to add them to the list?@Our Endless Days shouldn't mind, but wouldn't hurt to shoot him a PM.
-
FUCK, that's alot lol
Are they all good artists on that list?
I went through a few at a glance, some are dead RIP! Some are no longer working but the ones I did see all look good. Will take me awhile to go through this lot, thanks for link :)
Whoa, who died? That list is only a year or two old and the blog is run by a poster here. But yeah, everyone on that list should be at least a respectable tattoo artist who does traditional tattoos.

Just go ahead and add all of these: North American Tattooers | Our Endless Days

Any of them will be awesome, but his panthers are really awesome. However, if you're just doing chest (and not the entire torso), I think the eagle/snake would be best. Or Eagle/snake/dragon.

hahaha what a joke..
Took the words right out of my mouth.

@Hogrider your talking about the usmc dude from san diego I believe. he could only spend xx amount because he had all these other toys. I think he left after getting the tattoo and LST said it was ok but he could have had much better if he listened.
Ahhh, yeah, I remember that guy.
-
Would one of those be an eagle where there "artist" forgot to put in the eye?
No, I can't remember exactly what they were, it's been a while, but I do remember they were really poorly done. It was especially upsetting knowing he lived less than an hour from NYC.

Anyone know who will be featured next?

I haven't been tattooed there, but I suggest Oak City based on some work a friend of mine has from there.
But as others have said, Asheville is a few hours away and home to Hot Stuff and apparently Myke Chambers also tattoos somewhere in Asheville when he isn't traveling or in Philly.

And a two year waiting list for the pleasure, we really are weird us tattooed folk.....!
Her waiting list is 2 years?! Holy shit.
She's so talented though, and part 1 was great.

i always wondered how bad it would be to heal a back piece. how is sleeping? more importantly, how do you put any kind of lotion on the tattoo?
I don't have a backpiece, but I've always thought how shitty it would be to heal. But I think it was someone on theb9, calamity spills maybe (with the Chad K American-indian skull/headdress backpiece), who said you can reach pretty much every part of your back yourself if you use the backs of your hands to apply the lotion in the spots you can't reach with your palms.
So I guess it's that, or get a girlfriend/boyfriend.

Goddamn, that thing is so fucking cool.
Raised tattoos inevitable for someone as black as me? So frustrating.

You say your chest is lighter because it isn't exposed to as much sun? I suggest lathering on sunscreen everyday. See if that helps your arms lighten up a bit after a few months. I wear sunscreen everyday if I'm going to be in the sun longer than 15 minutes or so, particularly now that I have tattoos.
Also, I agree that big bold thick outlined designs would probably work best, and those can be done in black and look just as good as if they were done with color.
