  2. What I really want to know is if anyone on LST going to come clean on being a "human canvas"?
  3. What a great story about the 101 year old woman. I was 21 for my first tattoo. I had several done in my 20's, then only one in my 30's and in the last year I've accelerated at 41. Sure, one of my old ones in particular is not "in fashion", but whatever, it's part of the story and I'm not embarrassed by it. In the same breath, I'm glad I waited to get bigger stuff.
  4. Everyone has something good going on! I don't have an appointment yet, but I'm planning on getting my other thigh done this winter. I don't know what yet; I keep vacillating.
  5. The woman who wrote the article is disturbed & half of the commenters are lunatics. I "shut off" when I encounter shit like that. I'm grateful for my mom in many ways. She wasn't super thrilled about my tattoos at first, but never said anything negative. She loves them now though and even watches out for them (more sunscreen!) :).
  6. I use Aloe Gator, an invisible gel - it looks like vaseline. Best to let it dry a bit. I've also found Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen SPF 45 to not leave a whitish haze.
  7. I love the idea - Seth Wood has a kitsune. Well, I seem unable to grasp how to post a photo... Scroll down http://sethwoodtattoo.com/page/8
  8. I like this. My newer tattoos are dot work; if anyone thinks it's trendy, so be it. I'll just keeping getting tattoos of what I like. I do think the internet makes trends/ideas spread faster. When I got my first tattoo, there was no internet, no Tumblr, no Facebook.
  9. All at once. You posted too many beautiful ladyheads on the 7th, you should split them up ;).
  10. I started getting tattooed as a young woman. There are lots of places to start getting tattooed without being visible in a professional setting. I started with areas that are easily covered (the back) and slowly added more visible ones over the years (and years). People tend to be judge-y, but you don't live your life for them because it will always be something. And you can't worry about what your future husband will think; hell, I have a "squidthong" and still found love.
  11. I'd wear a long sleeve rash guard in the water or you will fry, even with sunscreen.
  12. I don't know if it's smart of me to admit, but I'm in possession of one of these "squidthongs" you speak of lol. Tribal into the Crack would be a great name for a 90's cover band.... Squidthong would work too.
  13. I am lucky enough to have a sleeve (3/4) and a thigh piece from her :D! The new London episode is definitely something to look forward too. ------- Edit okay, I proved it.
  14. I'll go with prostitute, because I'm "ruined", female and don't really care for boats.
  15. Yes, London is all I know about it; I hope he keeps it up too. He's at Full Circle as of August 1.
  16. I hope it's okay bringing a month old thread back, but this 4th installment is my favorite and I think people should see it (along with the rest of the episodes too!). I got to meet Marcus when I was being tattooed at Full Circle by Gemma Pariente. I geeked out and blurted "I love your Gypsy Gentlemen episodes!" and he was super cool about it . I would love to be tattooed him and Bill Canales (who really is one of the humblest, most talented guys out there - the pieces I saw him working one were off the charts amazing).
  17. I can deal with stares pretty well and can usually tell the difference between interested vs a$$hole stares. I just smile and go about my business. I've only had one very negative reaction where a man took time out his day to tell me I "was ruined! Tattoos are for sailors and prostitutes!" . He was so angry. I thanked him for his "insight", several other customers told him to shut it.
  18. My dad had a lot of tattoos, including the most mysterious because he rarely wore shorts, was the outline of a giant dragon on his leg.
  19. Thanks everyone! I don't think I was the best sitter for that lower back tattoo....
  20. Greetings! I've been ghosting the forum for awhile now, learned lots and laughed some too. I'm not new to tattoo, being an early adopter of the "lower back tattoo" in the early 90's. I had a few other pieces since then, with long lags in between, then kicked it up in the last year getting a 3/4 sleeve and sizable thigh piece. I have more in plans, of course. I have lots more to learn and hopefully, some to contribute.
