  1. stemming from recent posts like this, i think some of us may be considering the tattoo artists feelings a little bit too much. i dont think any artists is like, "trying to own your body" with their work. and if they are, theyre douchebags. - - - Updated - - - i did that, big time only because i was looking for specific shit, and it was a little weird, but i think only i felt that way.
  2. *24 hour cafe action. theres a few spots. and resturants, diners. could ask almost anyone about them. my buddys been hitting up the ol' ihop for afterhours. says all the other spots are becoming too hype. guess its diff as a local. *go find some gangster shit too do. i know they party under the freeway sometimes with lowriders. meeting the same boring white person who transplanted to atx over and over again gets old.
  3. freebirds! my friends hate it that i make them take me there everytime.. in that one anthony bourdaine episode, where they show the two bbq spots. the one you have to wait hours in line for, then the other one in the dirt parking lot where they have hoedowns and shit. id say go to the hoedown one (forget the name, but my friends there agree). 6th street is kind of corny. it reminds me of being in a really bad college movie, like if you want to go drink budweiser and listen to sugar ray and really bad rap music. 6th street is cool. just make sure you know where youre going, cause theres cool music stuff going on in the cut. seeing the bats fly from the bridge at sunset is pretty fun actually. the fact that theres others out there waiting also makes it a funner experience, imo. im glad i went to go see that. if i remember right, south congress? lots of cool resturants, coffee spots, and shops there (there might be a new district for this). austin is fun. im sure its also changing pretty rapidly, so my advice may be a little dated. - - - Updated - - - *mays also a good time to go, im assuming. thats when the locals can feel like they can fucking breath again, since sxsw came and went. *if youre out on 6th street make sure you grab a slice from "morrissys pizza". its not called that, just some guy who looks like morrissy who sells pizza out of his truck.
  4. damn, i wouldnt even be suprised if he did. i just saw "ruthless", and the tone the packaging set was way diff then the usual hippy nature scene sierra has, so i just grabbed it. didnt even see it was an ipa at first.
  5. any of you guys try the new sierra neveda spring seasonal- ruthless rye ipa? pretty good stuff. its been my go to lately. the name sold me, and then the package arts pretty crazy too..
  6. food grade from a local and trustworthy company here. all of this stuff has to be food grade or will fuck you up! for instance, i think its bentonite (not the food grade), that they use in auto shops to soak up oil spills. yeah, i mix it with water. was doing it once daily before i read more about this stuff, now im doing it in morning then again at night.
  7. yeah, and thank you to all of the artists who contribute, operators, owners, mods, etc. and would like to think that most people on here would have the good sense not to harrass you guys with questions/hit you up with dumb stuff. although, i think stewert may have actually sold me on not blacking out a sleeve and one point, whether he knows or it or not hah.
  8. from what i understand with bentonite clay you do (make like a mask thing). ive started taking the diatomaceous earth with water already. i seriously dont understand biology that well, but it seems like it makes sense. sort of like the thing about using a handheld massager, which i read about on here some guy doing. i dont know if it works or not, but in theory, seems like it would..
  9. well either way man, that shit looks like itll be ghost in no time. i was just doing a lot of reading about clays. like bentonite clay and diatomaceous earth (which ive been mixing with water daily). theyre known to pull metals and all toxic crap straight out your body. the idea is that most of all toxic crap is positively charged, while these clays are negativley charged. so they just suck all of the stuff right up and than you crap it out. i came across claims that bentonite and fullers earth can remove tattoos? there is no documentation, so i really dont know.. but it makes a lot of sense, that if a laser hits a tattoo and breaks ups the ink that these clays could suck the loose particles right out. i have no idea if itll work or not, but im looking into getting some bentonite clay to get like an arm cast thing going with it..
  10. ive been hanging around/walking into several shops all over a lot lately, and that dynamics comparison is on point. exept i can get a way with a little more in those situations, because of what ive learned on here haha.. but not even just the artists, a lot of the collectors in general who attracted me to this place dont seem to be as active anymore either..
  11. im newish with a rising post count, so i hope im not a suspect here. im just here to browse and not really post in the tattoo subjects where people know way more than me, share about my laser experience, share random other shit in subforums, and then get some damn good art work going. i understand that the tattoo world, just like everything else in life, is a give/give culture. ive learned more in just the few months that ive been here than a lifetime of reading magazines or talking to people on the street. im greatful for that. but i agree about the artists not being on here kind of sucks. when i got here i was learning a lot from guys like stewert and mario.
  12. whoa! - - - Updated - - - fuck, man, youll be ready for a coverup in no time..
  13. haha but in all honesty more people should do that with their old barbed wire bands.
  14. yeah, it really is. im not an artist, so i dont know if that was his only way to go. im sure he wanted that script covered too. i dont blame him.
  15. weve all seen it. happy ending to a crappy story.. World's Worst Tattoo is Fixed | Healthy Living - Yahoo! Shine - - - Updated - - - late-pass. i see hands on already posted this in another topic. well, if ya dont know now ya know..
  16. *edit* missed the part where this was in regards to laser healing. either way, i dont use anything for tattoos and laser.
  17. shit, glad im not alone. while it was fun and kind of cool while it lasted, it would definantly be a huge annoyance to have blistering and swelling after every treatment. good luck to you guys on your journeys..
  18. thanks for dropping knowledge here, mike. i hope that didnt scare anybody whos thinking of getting hit. its really not that bad, and my dude definantly knows what hes doing. like i said, this only happened during the first treatment, i was getting a large area treated (my whole arm, for the most part), and i didnt keep ice on it post-treatment. i just wanted to gross people out. i dunno..
  19. honestly, i have no idea how i got the card. but i laughed my ass off when i saw it. has my name on it and everthing. like im solidified now. so the next time im riding the lines and somebody tries to test my g (greyhound), im pulling out the card and being like "hey. step off. newjack". but it could also do with miles too maybe. because i dont fly at all and have logged in some serious long rides. and if youre really on greyhound all of the time, you need to start a blog. would be awsome. the greyhound is amazing (if youre in an alright mood). part of why i thought that this card was so great is the stories i have for my friends (see above; guy on drugs attacking me for no reason), and how theyll push me to write about it (i write shit). and you gotta have a routine down. whenever i think i know how to travel like a pro, im learning something new.
