  1. Funny you mention Tat-Tape, @hogg knows a guy... We should focus on getting product to market though, people don't know what they aren't missing out on. I feel like we could really see some penetration this quarter. (This was actually said in a meeting I was in once, all I could do...)
  2. Just adopted a 1 year old small black lab mixed with who knows what. We got it from a local rescue that drives to the South (he's a Kentucky dog) and brings them back to the twin cities. So far, much like myself, he's enjoying the change and the snow! He's really mellow and doesn't appear to have been too traumatized. Dogs really are great.
  3. $29.99, genius price point. Places us at the premium end of the market, 'you get what you pay for' etc. Can we call it Tat-wrap™?
  4. I completely understand some of the resistance to this on the basis of rebranded existing products. If someone brought out a more expensive 'tattoo specific' cling film (with no change to the film itself) for instance, it would be laughable. In related news, I've found myself 20mins from Tegaderm HQ (3M) but it was cheaper to get on the other side of the world.
  5. Alvaro is great, can't go wrong with him. Although I recently left for the foreseeable, I'll still count myself among the growing numbers of Australians here. No shortage of great options in Melbourne. Welcome.
  6. Really like his work, did you get it when he was at Tattoo Magic?
  7. (Sorry Harry, just had to.) This just reads "Business cliche, university student idealism cliche, I'm super progressive cliche... Touch base... Shift paradigms... Revolutionize outside the box..." I'm all for fake it till you make it but this kind of generic patter is so transparent. Also when someone shows you exactly where to read some pertinent information about your questions, including opinions from some extremely well respected tattoo makers, but your response is not to read that information but just ask "what's wrong with it?" then we have nothing for you here. Good luck.
  8. Taken, mostly cause you actually approached this like a respectful human, not someone looking for other people to do their shortcuts for them. Good luck with it and here's to no regrats.
  9. I think it's a pretty unique position this forum sits in. The only thing I could liken it to in the rest of my life would be a restaurant forum where most of the people hadn't worked in a kitchen, but may have eaten thousands of dishes from one and know what it looks like in there etc. I feel like this will always lead to a some inane, uninformed comments and questions but also some amazing 'outsider' insight. I've known lots of professionals who were 'blinkered' in some ways by their training. Maybe a little bit more personal comment on other members has been creeping in here lately but overall it's a positive place. I've definitely learned a lot and laughed a lot from being here, good signs in my book.
  10. In regard to the sweating/work issue @Graeme , while I had my ribs covered I was working in a kitchen where air temps hover around 50c (it was in the middle of a heat wave), I experienced heavy sweating and rotational movement and a shitload of grease, with no edge peeling or adhesive degradation. This was only for about 4 hours at a time though. I also could wear a belt, pretty tight over the area, the following day without rubbing. Can't remember which @exume was using but in this case I used tegaderm. /nosalesman ?
  11. I'm kinda tempted to look for cheap flights for this and the analog gallery opening, drive the coast inbetween. I'm still finding it strange that things like this are now within striking distance for me, MPLS may be cold but it's a lot closer to Cali than Melbourne!
  12. I've been on both sides of that fence @exume but being the boss definitely made it easier! It also helps that most of the kids that used to work for me liked good tattoos and would give plenty of notice unless a super short guest spot or something opened up. I'm pretty sure over summer at least one shift a week would be covered cause someone was getting tattooed. I realize this flexibility (it's a pretty small business) is not common for everyone.
  13. This is awesome, I laughed at the first three showing up and they keep coming. Such great work. Thread title rename mods?
  14. Haha, Mid 70's to a top temp of 0 does sound equally intimidating, weights, measures, etc. can't wait!
  15. Finally got my US visa, will be flying on Thursday, going from 33*C to -19*C is going to be interesting!
  16. I think most people on here are willing to answer questions that haven't been covered a million times before (in a range of threads) and don't clearly come across as price related. How long people sit is discussed frequently, not hard to match some times given with gallery uploads if you are that interested. The amount of information on here is massive, the amount of people willing to repeatedly spoon feed it to you, not so much.
  17. So nice! @Mark Bee Finished off my ribs with William Yoneyama, was a longer session than the first but so much harder, nearly tapped at one point but powered through. here's a snake preview, will post a full shot when it's healed.
  18. I found it feels strange at first @Cork , but after moving through a normal range of motion with it a few times it's barely noticeable. Enjoy your next hassle free three days, I'm considering pushing my time to 96 hours when I finish my ribs, see if it's any different.
  19. It's only $68 on amazon at the moment, might have to pick one up.
  20. Really nice! San Rafael bound next time I'm close for sure. Do you know how much this would hurt with pants on?
  21. Pulled the tegaderm off my ribs (pics in the latest tattoo lowdown thread) last night, this stuff is amazing. Barely felt it was there during the 72 hours it was on, had a little bit of fluid underneath but it all got reabsorbed, it came off easily in the shower, just hitting it with moisturizer now. Can't imagine how annoying it would have been to heal the belt line without it. Not having to mess with it for the first three days is worth the $20. Definitely on the bandwagon.
