9Years got a reaction from DJDeepFried in Why do good people get bad tattoos?
In order to find the best things in life (food, music, people, tattoos, whatever-the-fuck you're into) you have to give a damn beyond a cursory level. You've got to put in some work. Most people don't want to do this in my opinion. More so if they're not going to be into tattoos as a continued hobby.
Or they're just busy with other things that are more important to them. They probably don't understand why one would settle for a terrible interest rate on a loan or something...

I think it should come back when this place is a tattoo forum again and not a tattoo advice forum.

Got this awesome piece this week on the spur of the moment/walk-in from Tommy Stegall at Baldy's Tattoo in Radcliff, KY (near Fort Knox). It's my first American Traditional tattoo and I am in love :)

Me too. My 6.5 hour session required someone bring me a sip of sumpthin, but otherwise there is chat and mental relaxation techniques, and time is up before you know it. I discovered early on that when I tried to look at my phone or listen to music I had a harder time than just laying back and zoning out/accepting the sensation.

9Years reacted to RoryQ in How do you react to stares??????
Coming through airport security yesterday one of the security guards had a long (favourable) chat about my tattoos.
He said he had a couple but was too afraid of the pain to get more.
Then he explained that he got the tattoos after he got paralysed in a car accident and then beat the doctor's diagnosis that he probably would never walk again (!!!).
I was like "dude, I think you could handle it" (He laughed).

Old Guy At Home Depot: Hey, those tattoos look expensive. How much you pay for those?
Me: Well, you know what they say, "Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good."
Old Guy's Wife: His were cheap.

I would love to see the monthly contest return. Maybe one that doesn't include a physical prize so it doesn't increase operational costs of the site (as much) to run it?

YES!!! This is so cool. I read the short story "Leiningen Vs the Ants ( http://www.classicshorts.com/stories/lvta.html) when I was a kid and it left a huge impression on me. I want an ant tattoo now! Man, I've said it before but you get the coolest tattoos. Talk about doing it right...

Agree with @Dan, it's totally possible to do both. Just show a little restraint around the pool.

It got to like 80 in Oakland yesterday.
We have had a rough go of it. God forbid it gets to 85-90.
