I keep returning to this thread, maybe I am a glutton for punishment but...
I have a tattoo with a blowout that has lightened up over time, when it first happened I was like, "oh shit, that sucks. Oh well, nothing to be done about it now." I am pretty sure I flinched when it happened. Regardless of the imperfection (or the why of the imperfection) I LOVE that tattoo. I would not want to be without it, and I highly value the experience of both getting the tattoo and having the tattoo, and what the tattoo represents to me. I love everything about it - even the imperfections. Life isn't perfect, we aren't perfect, and it is a nice little reminder that things won't always be perfect (if you want to start getting all meta about it.)
So, why bother posting in this thread again?
@flowergirl - tattoos are permanent in that they will be in your skin until your body dies, they change (just like your body will change as it ages), accepting the imperfections in yourself (and your tattoos) shows a certain level of maturity, and pragmatism. So, by "dealing with it" you are sort of forced to accept and love yourself as you are, just like accepting and loving your tattoo for what it is. It can be hard, I know. Go to the thread on things you've gotten into since getting tattooed. Take care of yourself, take care of that tattoo, and if it is still bugging you in 3 months then go and talk to another tattooer about what you can do with it.
There's really not much else to be said about the whole thing. The folks who posted were trying to help you understand the situation since your initial post came across as you needing the help. The people who are involved on this site are great people, have amazing tattoos, and are super knowledgeable about tattoos/tattooing whether they be tattooers or not. We spend our time on here, we don't get paid, we are here because we like the people and community here on LST. If you don't like it, or can't step out of yourself enough to see what kind of place this is, then you shouldn't be here. Period.

Now that it's xxx'ed out, she can claim that she was very nice and genuine, and that she never said a rude or inconsiderate thing. That she didn't make global condescending remarks about all of us as a whole. That she didn't barf out drama queen splat.
And because she xxx'ed everything out, she can pretend that she specifically thanked the many people who helped her out. Which she didn't. I don't recall that she ever said a kind word to anyone who helped her.
Now she says she cried. Maybe she did, and part of me still feels bad that she is upset about her tattoo. But this passive-aggressive deleting of her posts and then claiming all the terrible things that were said to her, with no reference as to why anything was said ... well, that's juvenile behavior purposely designed to make other people look bad.
Put on your big girl pants and drop the drama. And I recognize you don't respect me, but pretend someone you really respect just said this to you. Calm down, go read a bunch of threads here like this and other good posts, reset, and come back after you've put the drama behind you. You will find that this is the most resourceful and knowledgeable bunch of tattoo folks on the internet.

Ya don't need to be a professional to know a blown line when you see one.
My skin hits blow outs from time to time. Even my tattooer mentioned to me he has to take extra precaution because my skin is so transparent that it's easy to hit a blow out from time to time.
I had some full lines on my calf that blew out real thick, that pulled back into line after time, which is cool...I like bold as fuck line work anywhere we can slam it in.
I've also had the blow outs where the ink has spread out, mainly on my fingers & hands where you know that spread is blown for good.
By the picture I saw of your blow out, it reminds me of a blown spread that won't reverse.
I like my blown lines, they add character, and some of my blow outs are of Runic symbols consisting of straight line work. Nothing that can be done about it now. At first, with those Runic symbols & me wanting them to be perfect, it annoyed me for 2 weeks, now I don't give a fuck...I like them the way they are.
We understand, this is your 1st tattoo, and if it's the 1st of many more to come, believe me...in time it won't bother you one iota.
    Suit down...that's the answer!

One could argue that your tattoo was not "so so simple." You wanted a perfectly straight line with even width and perfectly perpendicular cross bars. It takes some talent to pull nice lines like that. Don't underestimate the talent required to do that - there is no room for error, as you can see. A "simpler" tattoo would have lots of shading and shadows to hide imperfections that you'd never realize were there.
Go to someone else and get the proposed "fix" done by someone who does solid line work.
I don't think you'll ever know for sure, so I recommend that you take a deep breath, assume the fault lies with the tattooer, don't argue with him, and go find a different one.
    Good luck!

Phil Sparrow contributed a lot not just to tattooing, but also to the understanding of sexuality thanks to his work with Alfred Kinsey, so I would hardly call the recorded anatomical details in his Stud File to be "gross".

It cuts deep alright when family feel they can say whatever. It particularly annoys me even more because it just reinforces to me that they still don't get it and never will.
I've had very deep conversations with my family about what this journey means to me. You'd think that since my 1st tattoo at 17 years old up to now that my words would actually hold some weight. That the seriousness in my tone and a well thought out response would channel to them a certain kind of meaning. And, in a heartbeat statements like...don't you think enough is enough...your getting more ink?, don't go any further than there...you won't get your face done I hope. Even to the point (I hear) that these are common discussion points between them and the fuckin neighbours! How do I know about that? Because the fuckin neighbours are dumb enough to tell me. Ha, and then they wonder why 90% of the time Micks aloof, doesn't say too much kicking back in the corner being anti social, at times appearing down right rude. Because it just ain't worth the time. @SeeSea. I'm hearing ya here. Family have a way of still making it hurt, even after all these years.
Then, I had a "mate" who called me out at work in front of a heap of people when seeing my hands and fingers blazed. ...what are ya doing, there's rules to this you know, you must be breaking every HR rule in the book. This came from a dude who's got tribal sleeves, torso and back. I looked at this dude for a second in disbelief and just said...I don't follow your rules Greg and show me any HR guideline that states anything about tattoos because I haven't come across one. You should really get your facts right before shooting off your mouth. Hence, he's no longer part of my small circle of trust. That one didn't hurt, it made me angry.
Ironically, I was watching Bad Ink last night and they were going on about tramp stamps. Made me cringe with embarrassment. No wonder the GP loosely use the term when it's perceived that we do as well.

It's 0530 here, just woken and I find myself coming here to LST to help me get in the frame for the day.
The usual routine begins. 0630 extra sweet coffee. 0700 long warm shower. 0745 pack a cooler bag with 6X stubbies of Coopers Pale Ale & Mercury Cider. 0800 hit McDonalds for an English breakfast wrap meal/ small orange juice.
0830 hit the road churning out some Tattooed Mother Fuckers on the stereo.
0915 arrive at destination, tattooer and I close the door to the private room and begin the morning by filling the room with smoke, exchange a few laughs and sharing a couple of stubbies.
1030 in the zone for today's neck slam.
Today, should be done by 1300, home by 1400, hot shower/ cider post tattoo aftercare.
    Happy days.
Filling the shark with background today, smoke, flames and lightning.

@hogg & Mark Bee. The term "bikie" is another media term only.
Many years ago, a person would come close to having his mouth shut for even using such a derogatory term. These days with everyone becoming an expert as to what's written in the papers and what they see on the news, pfft, it just becomes another little piece of history that gets lost and some of us become a little too tired in trying to keep it alive.
Another term "gang" is also a media typo. They're "clubs". Again, if that needs to be elaborated on, then it just ain't worth the time. Those of us who had/ have origins from the Oi days know how retarded the media terms to "skinhead or punk gangs" appear. Same shit.
Back to the tattoo topic. This is what we get when we offer mainstream a glimpse into our culture. We create opposing cultures with two completely different takes on the subject, and that has been the sad part for me.
It's like the day when I was getting tattooed in High St, Fremantle Western Australia back in 93, directly opposite the Workers Club, oh, in an old time "biker" run art studio...sorry, tattoo fuckin shop...these were the days Tattooers started charging like $100 an hour!!
After we had completed our 4 pack of Rum and the 3 hour tattoo, I laid out $300 on the chair to complete our deal. Old mate looks me in the eye, handed me back half my cash and said...mate, the day I start charging top dollar for tattoos is the day I may as well be just tattooing Drs and fuckin lawyers. Fuck taking it away from the working man where it belongs.
And that was my very 1st encounter in that particular shop.

I use to get reaaallly crabby for a couple of days after a new tattoo and that would sometimes make my husband sick :p
Seriously though, I have never gotten sick after a tattoo but I could see how it could leave your immune system in an overstimulated or distracted state increasing susceptibility to the foreign invaders around you. For this reason, I have started scheduling shorter sessions. I find I don't get crabby or feel as exhausted/susceptible to getting sick. It also allows me to keep working out to some degree or another which I think is fantastic in helping tattoos to heal quickly.
Side note...I think sleep quality is part of it too. I rarely sleep well the first couple of nights with a new tattoo. So on top of maybe the flesh trauma and neural load, your body's #1 recovery system can also be compromised.
Just my thoughts @OnyxRose...and now that you suspect this may be how your body reacts you can move forward and implement some things to support your immune system pre-, post- and during tattoo.
    Best of luck!

The only ill effects I have ever experienced post tattoo has been the over stimulation on the central nervous system after a long & gruelling session.
At times if I have been feeling under the weather, as in starting to feel sick, I reschedule. Nothing worse getting drilled while you're crook.
