  1. Saw that on Instragram @hogg . Looks great! Can't wait to see yours. Lots of great tattoos in here lately, as usual.
  2. I don't know why tattooers would accept bitcoins. It's not like there's a need for tattoo transactions to be anonymous.
  3. Waiting outside War Horse to get tattooed by Ron Wells. We're finishing up my skull and mandala from a few months ago. Pictures to come.
  4. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Just get tattoos if you want tattoos.
  5. The thing is, at least for me, the local shops are the famous shops. That might be because I live in the Bay Area, but it's also because, in the tattoo community, most great tattooers are at least somewhat well known. Take a look at Katie Sellergren; when she was working at Mount Idy, she was still getting recognized for the work that she put into the craft of tattooing.

    Hello

Welcome, Amelia. I really like that skull, eye, star, flower painting on your site.
  7. Welcome. I'm on the peninsula, so I hope to make it up to San Rafael and get something from you guys.
  8. Thou shalt not mention that you want to be a tattooer when thou hast no tattoos.
  9. Congrats, @Iwar . You'll make a great addition to the moderating team.
  10. Lady Viola and Betty Broadbent were two tattooers/tattooed attractions at the turn of the century. Ester Evans tattooed with her husband, Sailor Eddy, on the East Coast, in the mid-20th century.
  11. Thou shalt respect those who came before you. Thou shalt not be a hipster.
  12. The worst tattoo I have seen was on a juggalo. I won't say anymore than that, but you get the picture.
  13. Thou shalt do thine homework before asking questions that have been asked a million times.
  14. I am in need of some cash, and I have some extra paintings and prints, so maybe you fine people would like to have them. First is a Shane Swift original painting. I got it for $100.00, so I'll sell it for $60.00 plus shipping. It's in perfect condition. Payment through PayPal only.
  15. I think Bailey Hunter Robinson does some of the best elephants that I've ever seen. That one by Dean Sacred is crazy good as well. Peter Lagergren did one that I really liked, but I can't find a photo of it.
  16. Always loved the shaking hands tattoo. Will probably get one as filler once my legs fill up.
  17. Found this on Tumblr, but there were no tattooer credits. Lady Viola, tattooed by Frank Graf in the 20s.

  19. @Duffa Great to hear from you. Definitely keep us posted on the travels, and feel more than free to fill us in on what you've been up to. Super jealous of your Japan trips as always.
  20. "How can you know if you want to be a tattooer if you don't even have any tattoos? You need to spend some time getting tattooed, and in tattoo shops, and find out what they are about." Freddy Corbin said that, and if you don't know who that is, then I suggest not posting anymore until you do. I think it would be wise for you to take his advice. It is common for people who are new to tattoos to say that they want to be a tattooer some day, but that is rarely really the case. Even if you know how to draw, it takes an entirely different skill set to make a drawing that will be a good tattoo. There are countless other reasons that people fail as tattooers, as well. That said, I am not a tattooer, just a tattooed person, so maybe some of our seasoned tattooers can pitch in. Don't be offended if they don't take kindly to your enthusiasm.
