  1. Go to another artist. At least he was honest with you. Wish one that I went to had been, instead of doing half-assed work that I had to have lasered and redone by a trustworthy artist. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  2. Returned last week from two weeks in South India. In one of the villages that I visited, a young man approached me with a photo. He said "My name is Paul - you named me." In the photo taken in 2002 I am praying for a baby. The mother had brought the baby to me and asked me to give her son a "Christian name". Pretty awesome to meet him 15 years later. 3. Sarah did a first pass at correcting the faked line on my forearm that another artist did and I hated. After 3 laser sessions (one a two-pass session), it was ready. She did the lining and some grey shading. Looks thousands of times better. She will add color in early March. This is going to settle nicely, I think - and I'm already real happy with it. 4. Not an artist, just someone that enjoys tattoos. That said - proportion, lettering - could be much better. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  5. The numbing creams take time to act, so plan on up to an hour after application. My derm. used one for pre-laser numbing, but I'm not sure it did much. The strongest legal (non-prescribed) pain control is to have your mind and body in the best of health. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  6. My artist says at least a month. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  7. Agreed. If they want to crown a "black and grey" ink master, have a competition for it, and if a contestant tries to sneak a colorful new school through - no matter if it is a bad tattoo or not - eliminate them! An "Ink Master" should be able to handle any style, and without talking the customer into having it placed on an easier spot. I wonder if they spent an hour with the cameraman for each show filming coy looks from Ryan to insert here and there. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  8. What a fun design! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  9. Take a marker and draw a circle most anywhere on your body, there will be movements that distort it. The record looks fine. I have some old vinyl that was stored improperly, and I WISH it was as round as your tattoo! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  10. Can you reset my account to no email notifications?
  11. Back in August, when I wrecked my motorcycle, I was headed to the board meeting of a group from various independent Christian churches in our area. Our main focus has been the planting of new congregations in and around our area. In the 30 or so years that I've been on the board, we have partnered in over 10 successful plants. This week I attended my last board meeting, vacating a spot to be filled with someone younger with new ideas. It's been a wild ride, and a lot of fun! I've made friends with men from the area that I really look up to. For you younger guys, my advice is to not fear ministers, and go out of your way to make friends with them. Believer or not, they will be some of the best friends you'll ever have. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  12. Appointment booked January 24 with Sarah Hurst @ Vivid Tattoo Knoxville. She will correct the faked line on my arm. This will be almost a week after I return form India, and I don't know which one is more anticipated! Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk
  13. You are to be commended for helping her through this season of life. A good hospice (in-home or facility) is a very loving thing to do for her.
  14. Having recently divorced (from Comcast TV), we are now using Kodi and Sling for a lot of TV viewing. So, I found Spike on it and watched last night, but went to bed (hey, I'm old and still working) during the latest episode. Two years of not watching and I have to say that the tattoo quality has gone down a lot! That one pinup of the guy's wife (the girl with the bob) was awful. Thought the cartoonish pinup of the curvy lady was flattering and pretty good, though.
  15. 2 days after third laser session.

  17. The Commonwealth is beautiful this time of year, and there is no finer drink than Kentucky bourbon on the rocks.
  18. Oh Yes! Soooo nice. Love the pallet.
  19. Today's shitty thing is trying to remove a bunch of virus, spam, and malware that got on my desktop. I really don't pay much attention to it as we usually use our tablets. I mainly use it for posting photos (tablet sucks for that) and being a print/file server. Have Avast on it, but I think my youngest used it last week and there is no telling where she went. Malware Bites has run, now Avast! boot scan (finding a ton), then I'll use Spybot and maybe Housecall. Sucks trying to keep an old XP machine running, but until this it's been fine and doesn't have the hardware to move up.
  20. Posting reference the day before I head to a new place for one more session. As far as I can tell, this new place uses the same laser, but charges about 50% less. Meeting with them went very well.
  21. Most any job is a grind at times. Otherwise, it's a hobby. Tattoo artists spend 8, 10, 12 hours a day hunched over a customer or a drawing board. Work is work. If you feel that your talents lean towards this vocation, then develop the skills and experience for it. You want to be a mechanic? - train with mechanics, not people that just love cars. You want to be a tattoo artist? - get an apprenticeship or go to art school and then get an apprenticeship. We can tell you if we like Your sketches, but that's about all. I teach a highly skilled engineering job. It's amazing the number of students that come in wanting to be cyclotron engineers with no knowledge of math, science, mechanics, or electronics. Get the basics first!
