  1. Couldn't even make it 24 hours. I knew we should have placed bets.
  2. Everyone likes what they like, but true Japanese tattooing probably has had more influence on modern tattooing than anything else... American traditional a close second. Janky kanji is not what it's about.
  3. Look, tattoos are an adult thing. Be an adult, decide what YOU think and what YOU think should be done about it and stop looking for someone to agree with you. You might not post to this site again, but you know you'll lurk and think pissy things about all of us, lol.
  4. It looks fine. What's the purpose of posting the same thing in 3 different threads? Good way to make people think you're a troll.
  5. I'd still call your doctor and ask their opinion. I'm betting that they might advise against it, you know docs and liability. But, if I were in the same position, really wanted it and was in good health, I'd probably go ahead and do it. My wife's an RN and I just asked her. She said that she wouldn't think it would be a problem as long as you keep any appendectomy incision bandaged and clean your tattoo as recommended.
  6. Welcome. I think a lot of things can have an affect on felt pain... placement, your state of mind, general health, etc. Do what they recommend, rest, good meal before, hydrated, take a snack along and you'll be fine. Just stay calm and don't make it worse than it is. Maybe let everyone know where you're getting it for more specific advice.
  7. Looks like a backwards "P" to me. Let it go
  8. Most of mine the artist told me what the cost would be at the consultation and stuck to that price. My half sleeve was hourly, but the artist definitely gave me the benefit of the doubt. I didn't watch the clock and track every minute, but he discounted me about 2 hours time. I take it that you think you were over charged? To me tattooing isn't like other professions or businesses. They don't have mission statements or business plans, they're artists and run things a little looser. You're not buying a burger getting an oil change. If you really think that you've been overcharged, but all means talk to your artist. I'd just let it go... it'll average out in the end.
  9. Nothing really surprises me any more. I saw a video the other day, probably on Youtube but not sure, where a guy had had his nipples removed and kept them in a bottle. If ya didn't want them in the first place, why keep them around?
  10. Didn't the tattoo artist point that out? Welcome too!
  11. Welcome. It looks fine to me, but it's difficult to tell from a photo. If I were you, I'd wait at least a month if not longer until deciding on any changes. Live with it awhile.
  12. Shit man, really sorry to hear all that. Hang tough, things will improve.
  13. Significant other sends you the hottest love letter... do you let their handwriting spoil the sentiment? 97% of people would never notice it, but hey, it's your life, tattoo and anxiety. Do what you want to with it.
  14. Was the text on the stencil?
  15. That's the kind of thing that we notice much more than anyone else. I bet 99 out of 100 people would never notice it unless you pointed it out. To me, it's just a foregone conclusion that tattoos are going to change shape a little when you move the part of your body that they're on. If it bugs you, just make sure your arm is straight when showing someone for the first time. Other that that just relax. I bet in a month you won't even think about it.
  16. Had a consultation today for my next tattoo. It will be a tribute to my mom and dad, a pair of red roses with a dagger behind, neo-traditional, solid black and red, done by Mike Schlicher. Now I just have to survive the long wait until March 21. 😔
  17. They both look like competent artists to me as long as you like the style. I would be ok with going to either to get a piece.
  18. Shit, I'd be thrilled just to get the artist I'm interested in to respond to my email.
  19. Man, that's the best advice I've heard in years! 👍
  20. I messaged the shop thru FB and got nothing, I may try calling in a day or two.
  21. Great work everyone. I'm actually trying to get a memorial piece for my mom and dad, but haven't heard back from my original choice in artists. It's been 2 weeks since I emailed him (his preferred method of contact) and I'm about to switch to someone else.
  22. Sorry for your loss. Looks good and I bet she'd love it.
  23. Solid stuff. Really like the kitsune. 🦊
  24. Welcome! Share some pics of your tattoos, everyone enjoys seeing them.
  25. I really don't think anyone was purposely being rude to you. I think they were taking time out of their personal lives and applying their knowledge of tattoos to try to help you. If you stick around awhile you'll see that the same question gets asked time after time and it's difficult not to occasionally get frustrated by people's impatience.
