  1. I tried the search feature, but didn't find what I was looking for. Who really nails Religious Themed tattoos in the general Washington, DC area? Not restricted to Christian themes. I would go farther afield if necessary, but would prefer to stay within a couple of hours driving distance to the DC area. OK, I'll drive as far a needed!

    Thanks!

Not necessarily religious oriented specifically, but a great artist in DC:

  2. I'm having an issue with this. I have 6 tattoos. I didn't really plan ahead to make them cohesive...they are all over the place. Now that I want more I'm putting more thought into it and am a little stumped about the layout and what should go where. My husband just got a 1/2 sleeve and I'm kind of jealous--he has this one big tattoo that flows so perfectly while I have this mish-mash of stuff. I still like all of my tattoos and rationalize that they are individual pieces that meant something to me at the time and they don't need to go together as if they were one big piece. But, I'm still stumped on #7. So if #10 is a panther (duh), what's #7? Ha ha.

Are the ones you've already got of just 1 style?

  3. I'm thinking about getting this on the back of my arm, tricep location:

I'm not particularly religious (in a past life, yes), but the theme resonates with me. The design hits me

in the gut, running an being swallowed up by your fate and such.

Do you guys think this will work as a tattoo? No size restrictions.

Definately new skool. Find a really good portrait or realism artist.

  4. I'm planning on getting a dragon tattoo this year. I've gone through some personal struggles this year and come out better for it. So I think the symbolism of the dragon would be fitting. This will be my first tattoo so I have been reading this board for a while (I was refereed here by cfgsteak) doing some research. I am very unsure who to trust to do this in my area. I'd hate to have one of the many first tattoo misshapes that seem to be so common. I like to find someone near Toledo but I'm more than willing to travel who could do a Japanese style dragon on my upper shoulder and pec. I would want someone who could draw an original piece for me. Thanks guys!

Not sure about inside of Ohio, but Buffalo isn't too far away. Here's a link to Jon Mirro's work:

  5. Hell I treat tattoos like road-rash, and never in a million years would I saran wrap my road rash

Road rash has ROAD in it, so no - you wouldn't want to wrap that in your skin.

2 of my last 3 tattooists swear by the wrapping method. They say it keeps the dirt out and "keeps the body's own natural headling juices in". You've got to give it about 4 half hour drying periods each day after washing and before re-wrapping - but it does eliminate any scabbing and hastens the initial healing process. I'm usually pealing by the 4th day and then no more wrapping. This process would be a pain in the butt if your work schedule might interfeer with the mid-day washing, drying and re-wrapping.
