I would just get what you like and not worry about what other people are going to think. They won't mean anything to other people, it's only important what they mean to you, if you're into that. None of my tattoos mean anything to me other than I like the images.

I haven’t either, I have also heard that. I know they do take a lot longer. Unless someone really wanted to get the experience I’m guessing most people would prefer a machine tattoo for comfort and the speed.

Given that the vast majority of artists use machines, I can’t think of a reason to limit yourself to the small number of artists that use the hand-poke method, unless you know an artist that uses that method and you like their work.

We went over the few lines in the dove and darkened them up a bit. He finished up a few spots he didn’t get to in my last session and just over all we tightened everything up. Came out beautiful. I love it!

I have some hustle butter. That did seem to work a little. Still think I’m going to see can add more black in the lined areas of the wings. I’m afraid some of these lines aren’t going to age well.

Okay so it's been a while since have been here. Wanted to share this pic of tattoo I got done in 2019, pic is of the tattoo when it was done, fresh, haven't got around to taking a healed pic yet. 'Cause it's kinda difficult to do by myself lol Really must get around to sorting out a healed pic.

The Dark Wanderer from Diablo tattooed on the back of my right thigh, and back of knee, and merging with existing work. Tattooed by Tommygunn in Belfast City Skinworks in Belfast.

Pics show fresh pic (sorry, it's only one I have, it looks amazing healed). And reference pic. I fell asleep getting this done, was done in one session.

You’re using too much moisturizer. The goal is to not let it dry out, not to drown it. Many people use the dry heal method. If you are using so much moisturizer that you’re getting acne, you should definitely cut waaaaay back.

That is not a thing. Any decent tattoo artist isn't going to take some rando sketch and tattoo it on you. Talk to tattoo artists. Learn what makes a good tattoo. No one here is going to sketch for you because that is not how any of this works.
    Good luck.

As often happens on the internet, you got advice you don’t like. Some of the people giving that advice have several hundred hours experience getting tattooed.
I re-read your post. You’re right about so many items being a back piece. Depending on how detailed it is, this would probably run 35+ hours. A good artist is going to be $100 or more an hour. depending on how well you sit it could run 8 or more sessions. Most people find the back painful. It’s hard to care for just because it’s hard to reach some spots. That’s a huge commitment for a first tattoo.

Here’s some more advice you won’t like. Get a smaller tattoo on an easy place like your bicep first so you have some idea what you are getting in to.

Red is difficult to heal. It doesn't mean you are allergic. It will heal. I'd just let it dry heal at this point.

Yep. Patience. You can find someone who can re-work the tattoo into something more cohesive, but don't rush into it - and after you've narrowed down your prospects, post links to their work here. We'll help you vet.

I would stop using that stuff and see what happens.
over the centuries hundreds of thousands of tattoos have healed just fine with no product at all.

Yeah, scabbing isn't normally related to any specific color . . . it's usually results from the tattooist "digging in". It won't necessarily hurt the final outcome - but it does take longer to heal.
