  1. Think I know it gouge is it in that little flash book he did Bert Krak -NYC .2003-2008 ?
  2. I'm crazy about that King back number ,looks like something you would see in Tattoo Burst magazine .
  3. To me nothing is more impressive and speaks volumes about a person if they could easily "shout the odds " about themselves but are laid back and quiet .These are the real cool dudes ,it never ceases to amaze me that people fail to recognise this or even worse adopt a "cool guy attitude " It seems to me these types have real confidence in themselves and their abilities .
  4. Lowrider Tattoo StudiosWith a little over 3 years tattooing experience this guy is tearing up the West Coast as a part of the Lowrider team. This must seem a world away from the hip-hop store in Dublin but he has transformed (no doubt partly thanks to the cheek of the Irish )to one of the most up and coming guys around .Check out Mikey Doodles stuff !
  5. http://wwwmyspacecom/newskooltattoosGreat thread Iwar . I gotta say Ian Flower whom I was alerted to via Valerie Vargas blog .Pretty sure this is no news to the tattoo artists but like Iwar i haven't seen alot of publicity for him .Anyway hes a mad fisherman so i hope this doesn't upset the fishes .
  6. Thanks for the acknowledgement Josh -would love to see the tattoo ,wheres it going to go ?
  7. Out of interest how much do you usually pay for a cup of coffee in the USA ?
  8. Sorry ,Barts got it spot on .Tommomori is usually depicted with an anchor cause he tied himself to it and jumped ship .Thanks Bart thats one hell of a print u have .
  9. Hope you have a great one mate .
  10. The characters name is Taira No Tomomori ,i won't spoil it for you but hes got a nifty little story to boot and one of my favourite characters .
  11. Its great to see other media forms doing their homework and utilising more tattooed subjects . The first example of a Marvel hero being tattooed occured in the Pacific Overlords with the appearance of Kayama Inouye aka Irezumi . Sega went straight to the source for the Yakuza game series and utilised the enormous talents of Horitomo . And most recently Dr Lakra has exhibited pieces tattooed with his black and grey flavour .
  12. Great traditional tattoo and immediately i think - Valerie Vargas .She can bust out some of the best even on the tricky spots ,so many great ones from this lass it's hard to choose what pics to post .
  13. Maybe Tattoo collector /corrector could become Tattoo Enthusiast ?
  14. Welcome aboard ,great to see another geezer .Would love to see some examples of your work .
  15. Eagles rock ! Heres another tuff chest piece this time from everyones favourite Bryan Burk .
  16. All this tatty talk is giving me squid induced flash backs of The Clockwork Orange .
  17. I'd love to see that and also think it's a great idea to see hogg more involved at any level ,especially for those of us living outside the "mecca". I agree with everything thats been said what amazes me most is the overall quality of the whole thing .My only disappointment is when i click the whats new section and it reads no new posts .
  18. Ha ha ,here we go again .The best answer is to check out the Japanese tattoo politics thread as although Yakuza and irezumi are interrelated they are separate identities .On another level though i understand the Yakuza are at the forefront of the recent relief efforts in their country .
  19. Another great collection by the look of things Avery ! Perfect sizing on that Eagle ,i've attached another along the same lines by Bert Krak ,think the solitary Eagle is super strong . So many good Eagles but my favourite piece of Eagle art is Scott Sylvias picture .This is just crying out for a back to adopt it . I love Chad Koeplingers birds too Lochlan especially his talons which often are supersized .
  20. Yeah that Bloodwork book of back pieces this time should be something else . I think the Tattoo Time series is the cornerstone of my collection ,these probably get the most use of my stuff and won't cripple you financially .Don't let their age fool u either these babies are still better than most today . Other books i like about a number of artists are :We are Tattoo -put out by the Tattoo Burst magazine (Japan). Underway is the only way -by SOG Nihon Dentou vol 1,2,and 3 -again by Tattoo Burst highlighting Japanese artists this time with amazing photography . Tattooing the Invisible Man -works of D.E Hardy Theres so many more but these are my best ones that don't do your bank in
  21. Sounds like Jack had his very own noodle -Frankenstein project going on ! I'm guessing Jack wasn't straight otherwise surely he would have gone the extra mile and dressed his roomate more appropriately (kidding )

    Derek Riggs .

Finances dictate that most times i have to be canny and lie in wait to purchase most of my art/tattooing books .Fortunately i managed a signed copy of "Run for Cover the art of Derek Riggs " amongst my swag . Riggs is an English born ,self cofessed gypsy most identified as the creator of Eddie ,Iron Maidens loved comic book mascot .This book is packed with illustrations including some previously unpublished gems and plenty of trivia related to the art (i particulary liked some of his painting techniques ) .His website is well worth a look also Derek Riggs Portfolio Therefore Derek Riggs and Eddie i salute you .
