Just wanted to put out a friendly reminder that unless you are a tattooer, the best answer to all questions about healing, coverups, etc...is always "Go talk to a good tattooer". We can give as much advice and personal experience as can fit on a page, and it doesn't really mean much. Take personal experience and opinions as such and see a tattooer to get an actual answer.

I loved Spring Breakers. Was one of my favorite movies of the year so far. After really getting into that movie, I found out a lot of people hate on Harmony Korine...I can't figure out why.

Went to the State of Grace BBQ yesterday, where I met several people with super killer backs, torsos and suits by Horitomo, Horitaka and Drew Flores. And I took part in my first group "shirts off" pic:

I'm Ashleigh, 22 from the UK. Just found this forum the other day whilst browsing and its fab. Lots of great advice.
I did have a quick question. I currently have no tattoos and am finding it hard to chose something in particular. I mean there's just so much beautiful artwork out there that I am struggling. How did you guys decide on your first tattoos. Also I'm not one for putting meaning into something, when i get a tattoo it will be because i like it not because my dog died =)

I was scheduled to have a 2 day appointment with Kore Flatmo next weekend. Due to work I had to reschedule until October. I was a little disappointed.
Then, a couple weeks ago I emailed Chris O'Donnell about working on my back. I really didn't expect to get a response right away. Not only did he respond quickly, he said he liked the idea and asked if I wanted to start in a couple months. Needless to say, I'm a little excited.

Dragon Koi are rad...but, it needs to be executed properly. It isn't something easily done as both the koi and the dragon need to retain enough of their own structure to know what you are looking at. Also, if you are serious about making sure your tattoo fits the context of folklore then there are certain "rules" or properties that must be depicted or followed in your tattoo.
I would go with the koi/dragon personally. I have a zealous appetite for Japanese tattooing and images though.

that's one awesome piece! yeah emmy is killer. So far haven't gotten anything from her though and since I'm emigrating to Vienna, Austria, in about 2 weeks (sorta feeling the nerves now) it's gonna be a while till im gonna get tattooed in good ol holland again. Not all reds have a history of reactions. You could potentially have a reaction to any color and it doesn't always happen immediately. I've seen tattoos that were over a decade old that raised up and had never had any problems prior.
