Perhaps not the right place for this, but as a follow up to the no drawing rose painting/video I posted last week, here's a no stencil/no drawing rose I convinced a friend to let me put on him tonight. Sorry if this could have gone in a better place, since it's not painting-related...


(the anchor and lily barely visible on his calf was my 14th tattoo, 13th if you don't count the one on myself to start things off)

Ink on washi. My first time trying this kind of painting, and I'm pretty proud of it despite its many faults. I'd like to do much more like this.

Not going to post the whole Irezumi book because there's lots of images, and there's something magical about flipping through that thing... some things are best discovered through some digging. These are by far the coolest shots from it, though.
The tattooer they cover is called Apache Harry. There's a shot of his travel kit and flash set up on the first page. He has a sign reading "Tattoos Removed Without Scars. Apache Harry. #22 Bowery NYC."

Shit.. the place I go to has a Chinese takeout place in the next group of stores, the Hess gas station down the road a bit has all sorts of cold beer and microwaveable morsels you can imagine. Sometimes a 40 of OE and a nuked burrito hit the spot after a tattoo session.

Hello and welcome to LST! Who did your tattoo? In my opinion, it looks good as it is and there's no need to add anything to it. About getting a quote tattooed on you, I suggest you read this first:

You don't have to accept everything in there, and there are things in there that I disagree with myself, but it's at the very least worth reading and considering. I also really don't understand how you can at the same time come here asking about what kind of quote you should get but insist that it has to be meaningful. The two are kind of in contradiction, no?

Chris cooks is a very modern style though right? Steve Wrigley is another great choice.

Sometimes a touch up or re-work of a tattoo that you don't really want to do, can lead to the chance to do bigger and more badass original work on said person. Just my two cents.

I saw these donkeys on the way home from work the other day,seems like kind of crappy dry place to have to live IMO,not sure how well they are fed & watered,so we bought some fresh carrots,cabbage,& apples and brought that and some water down this morning and fed them the treats,as soon as we pulled over on the other side of the street they started walking over to us,so it appears we are not the only ones who do this ! LOL very cute & very friendly.I will keep carrots with me from now on and do this again for sure.

I've never had trouble. In fact, last time I went through customs in Toronto on my way to Plurabella the customs agent I had told me he flew down to California to get tattooed by Bob Roberts. Fuck yeah!

I've been pondering that lately, actually. I think it would look great if it were all done in lighter tones of grey. At least with my tattoos, what I have on my arms is mostly traditional with really strong silhouettes. So if the background patternwork would be subtle enough to not detract from the impact of the prior work, I think it could look DOPE

I've been thinking about this myself lately. I always wonder if a sacred geometry type filler would look good. Has anyone else thought about this? Not just for your tattoo but in general. Something kind of like this?

Just keep getting rad tattoos. Eventually, you will get to a point where you won't care about the fairly minor specifics of that part of your arm. Don't worry, let it happen, if you have a cool little piece you want to get and it feels right to stick it in there...then do it!
