I think this should be for finished work, not ongoing. I plan on posting the final shot of my back-piece for judgement when it's 100% complete. Don't think it's a tattoo contest if we have unfinished tattoos. No disrespect to you @Brock Varty . Aren't you looking to show off and be judged on the finished project? Show the beauty that the artist created, and commitment to the tattoo! The appointments, expense and of course handling the pain. The journey is shared on "Latest Tattoo Lowdown". That's where we all compliment and look forward to the finished project!!!!

I wouldn't classify them as ramblings, he seems to have grounded his position in his beliefs, and backed that up with those portions of the bible that he specifies.
Is he "outside the christian mainstream"? Well, if you define mainstream as Luthera, Episcopal, Catholic, Baptist, etc., then yeah, probably, but by the time you get to Pentacostals, Holiness, Charismatic, well, then he's right there with them, from what I have seen and heard over the years.
Pretty simple to calculate the number of deaths per second worldwide and start a count running when the page is opened.
Just for the sake of discussion, what is the best and most accurate translation of the bible? Careful now, you know as well as I that each and every flavor of christian has it's own peculiar taste in that!
But bottom line, his opinions and beliefs are no different than those espoused on the site I referenced. He dresses it down a bit, gets it a little slicker, a little more suburban, but in the end, gee, you're still lost. Again, you would have to define "mainstream" here.
I hear you. Really, we need to look at the difference between faith and religion. You know, one of the biggest differences betwixt various christian groups is their position on the bible. Some discount the old testament, say that it is "nailed to the cross" and that only the new is to be followed, some follow both, and some, especially British Israelism and Christian Identity, follow the old.

Ah, there we are in those gray areas again. So, if I live a good life, follow the precepts of the bible, love god, love my neighbor, but I don't have someone "baptize" me, (and that's a whole other kettle of mess-what type of baptism is good enough for you?!), or even if I DO get baptised, I don't "have communion", then I've got A/C problems in the "next life"? Communion...is that as in communion of the minds, i.e. fellowshipping, or as in "Hoc est enum Corpus Meum"?
It's all equal to me, Shaun, I just can't get my head around people letting other people tell them what they should or shouldn't do, based solely on an ancient creation legend. I know that even in the bad old days when I was coming up, there was no huge amount of opprobrium from the actual mainstream churches concerning tattooing. I even met priest and ministers who were tattooed! The fundies, on the other hand...

Very slick. He debunks the usual arguments to make you feel like he is on your side, then brings up a bunch of new arguments, almost in an apologetic manner. He comes across as a folksy, good old boy, but this has a very calculated approach.

A big part of my family growing up was hardcore pentecostal. My great grandmother regularly spoke in tongues, the devil was lurking EVERYWHERE to tempt the weak. I was even exorcised once as a teenager (a TERRIFYING experience). I really hate all of this stuff. Super anxiety provoking. In my current life filled with people who are very inclusive in their beliefs I often forget that this kind of thing is out there.

There are shops I don't care for, but what I see as one thing, someone else sees differently.
Guess I'd rather talk about shops I think are outstanding than name the ones I don't care for.

I don't think that naming names helps and I'd rather use this forum to talk about people putting on great tattoos and to try to educate people about what is a good tattoo and how to get one.

My mom didn't seem too pleased when I told her I was getting a tattoo. She said, "well you'd better ask your sister about how much it hurt!" I think to try and dissuade me. As if I'm going to not do something that my little sister was able to do twice because it was going to hurt a bit. So of course I went ahead with it.
I mean, really. I was 34 years old. She's not the boss of me!

This is another one of those, "there is no point in you winning this contest because why the fuck would you ever wear a shirt ever again" pieces.

Hey, my name's Jack. I'm a 20-something living (read: drawing and video games) in upstate New York. Stumbled upon LST while poking around looking at tattoos. Seems like a cool community. Most of my skillpoints have been put into lurking, so I'll be doing that for a while until I level up a bit. Figure I'd let you know that I'm there in the shadows...watching....watching and waiting with narrowed, suspicious eyes.

My chest is the only place I really have a problem with in-growns. I've had tattooing on my chest twice in the last twelve months. First time I just shaved with a good new razor and went along. I got some nasty ingrowns from that. The second time I had my wife wax the area(she's a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician so it was done right), and it worked out great. It took a bit of planning though. She said it takes about 14 days for waxed hair to start to grow back so we did it 10 days before the tattooing, that way the skin in the area had a chance to recover from the waxing trauma but the hair wasn't back yet. May not be a good idea, but it worked for me.

I dont mind at all. lol
I keep thinking, peonies and a snake, japanese style, would look so kick ass on a girl's calf.
But I am super stoked to see how it works out for you on the 18th!

Well this would explain the MASSIVE amount of panties that have been frequenting the streets of Brisbane as of late ;)

, ok, so with your advice I approached my guy today with some small ideas and he can see my visions as well as he has some ideas... reaper with a darker sky background! so I am on mission to find and piece together my reaper and get him all of my ideas as time is of the essence!!! first session scheduled for feb16th!
