    Hi LST

Those are great! Welcome to LST.
  3. Told myself I was going to hold off for a while and save a little dough, but then Tron posts on IG that she's coming to Atlas in March. So I booked an appointment. Been wanting one of her umbrellas for a while, looking forward to wearing one.

    Hellooooooo

While you're sitting with Mr. Maples, could you get me a rock of ages for my chest? Thanks in advance.
  5. ^^^That is a question best answered by your tattooer, but any cover-up will be made easier if the tattoo below is lightened as Scott suggests.
  6. This is a good thread. My initial post-tattoo emotions are euphoric, typically with a side of hunger. But after that wears off (a day or two, often), the depression creeps in. I imagine it's for the same reasons already listed here: I just changed a part of myself and I have to live with and see it forever. So far, this feeling also fades... But I think part of this has to do with our modern culture, and touches on what @xcom just mentioned. We're all after the absolute best of whatever we can get. With the internet, we now have the ability to research every single decision we make to ensure that it's the absolute best one. I have a hard time purchasing anything over $20 without first reading some anonymous reviews likely written by jackasses. Louis CK does a great bit about this problem of over-research and DVD players: why the fuck do you need the best DVD player? What is that knowledge actually going to get you?! TLDR - don't worry about the tattoo blues, just keep getting good tattoos!
  7. @ShawnPorter thanks for the heads up on the Antennae reprint, been on (yet another) Higgs kick lately and always looking for print media to devour!
  8. Welcome to the site, but be careful: you'll find you want a lot of the tattoos posted here! Who's your artist?
  9. This. Given the photos and story, I would not hesitate to trust your artist in this decision. Ultimately (of course) it's up to you, but I think some roses would give the tattoo a slightly more "finished" look overall. But either way, fucking bad ass man!
  10. Here it is...you need the url to end in .jpeg or a similar file type to upload properly.
  11. All excellent advice in here (as usual). Might I suggest the thigh for placement of the (bigger) tattoo? Gives loads of space for the artist to work in, is near your original placement idea, and is very easily covered (if that's important to you). Welcome to LST!
  12. Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Now on to the wonderful world of healing...
  13. Just got this blaster today by Ron Henry Wells while he's in town at Lombard St. Tattoo. A somewhat new take on his drippy wolf designs - I'm so happy with it! Photo taken by Ron and stolen from his IG - Instagram
  14. What a great interview, thanks for sharing. Filip seems like just the most grounded guy and it's wonderful to hear his thoughts on so many of these common (though not to say they aren't relevant) questions.
  15. Awesome work @Iwar - super cool to see some of what goes on at Blue Arms, and Morten seems like a real stand up guy and a great tattooer. I'm still totally in love with Tony Nilsson's girl heads, too! Also, was that an Oakland A's pin-up Morten drew/tattooed? Too cool!
  16. Just booked in with Ron Henry Wells when he comes to Lombard Street Tattoo in January, now I just need to decide what I want...
  17. Pretty neat little video. I liked the quip at the very end that tattooing has outlasted every single culture/society in history - it's fairly obvious if you think about it (no one group of humans has lasted 8,000+ years), but I'd never heard/thought about it in that context.
  18. @bongsau So sorry to hear about your mom. That is an excellent tattoo, and an incredible write-up about the whole experience; I can't think of anything better to say... Cheers to you and yours in dealing with all of this.
  19. I hate to state the obvious here, but...we need a picture!
  20. Bottle of grappa, can of Foster's, bottle of maple syrup?
