Third that motion. Prison work, well, the technique could be, I've seen blackwork come out of Statesville looks better than anything I've seen in a "legit" parlor, but I've never seen anyone get hit with kanji and all the other oriental type work that boy is wearinng.
I have Brothers that are sleeved, that have full back pieces, that have their legs covered, but it's all "street" themed, if ya catch my drift.

I have the Wu-Tang logo, back when I was 15 :P Some kinda needle/s was melted in a piece of plastic and the ink was the ink from a ballpoint pen. I got it in a group home, sitting in my bed while other boy tapped it in. Cant remember how long it took. 1 hour?
I just realised its almost all worn out. Cant even see it. Had to look for it. Its "covered" with a bad cover up that didn't even cover it. Hate that fucking tattoo.
Funny, the tattoo artist asked me "what the fuck is this? A puzzle piece?" I said yeah, yeah... I was too nervous to explain him that is a Wu-Tang logo, and what the fuck the Wu-Tang even is while Jimi Hendrix was blasting from the speakers :D

His Facebook is still up, just looked at his photos there. I love the polar bear he did in '09.

A while back, when the compulsion to get my legs tattooed became impossible to ignore anymore, his was one of the first tattoo blogs I came across. I was so impressed with what I saw there that it made me re-think everything I had believed about what a tattoo was. I knew I wanted tattoos as good as what he was doing... and so I started googling stuff like "how to get a really good tattoo" and ended up here. His work completely changed my impression of what is even possible with tattooing.
I owe him a beer probably! Who knows what kind of work I'd be getting if I hadn't found him and thus found you guys. I might've ended up with a marilyn monroe blow-up doll or something!

Is that hand gesture spelled as Jesus? Fuck me, that is new to me! Cooool, whats the source? :)

@Petri Aspvik it doesn't spell 'Jesus' s such. It spells 2 initials of the Roman/Latin title of Jesus.
I think it's the same symbol as the reverse of this coin:

I can't find the exact source online but it was explained in detail in a recent BBC documentary on the history of christian art.
Maybe it was the full version of this show: BBC Four - The Dark Ages: An Age of Light, The Clash of the Gods
Sorry to derail this thread but anyone interested in history, art or symbolism should check out the BBC Four documentaries on BBC iPlayer.
To keep this on-topic, in the apple itunes store there are many lectures and short docs on Japanese art in the iTunesU section - For FREE!

@DJDeepFried Everybody enjoys aspects of 'exotic' cultures. One man's mundane is another's exotic, and vice-versa.
'Traditional' Japanese tattooing has regional and time-specific styles too. Yokohama style isn't necessarily the same as Hiroshima style. 1930's style isn't the same as 1990's style etc.
I haven't heard of a 'rule' that states you can't get a koi on your arm, unless of course if you have a koi with waves on your upper arm and an eagle with clouds on your forearm.
Positions of figure's legs (especially in relation to lotus flowers) often tell us things about their spiritual state in Buddhist art too.
Jesus spells out his (latin) name, gang-style, in many paintings from the middle-ages onward.

I'm just thinking about the story about Higgs tattooing voodoo veves on some guy, who left the shop and got hit by a car. Or something like that.

Figured i'd bump this thread with a little update. Today was deadlift day and I managed to lift 120kg, which is a new PR for me. Every time i break a PR it boosts my pride and self esteem. It's a direct result of my own hard work and that's the best feeling ever
