  1. Just cause problem #2 is more messed up than problem #1, does not mean that problem #1 is not messed up...
  2. @TrixieFaux It's been soooo cool watching your class work on these projects! It always makes me proud when I see young children getting into art, so especially rad given that they have all captured the essence of each artist's style so well. Such an exciting thing to see. One of my best friends has a 2 year old son and he is always drawing, every day. She's been posting his drawings and paintings on facebook and it's really nuts to recognize the real talent that toddlers and pre-school/kindergarteners have even though they are still learning cognitive functions. @hogg we went to Taqueria Cancun
  3. Got to see Russian Circles at the Great American Music Hall last night. It was intense, very cathartic. I went alone, which I sometimes prefer with bands that I'm really into. The opening bands were great, but I feel like I wasn't able to get that into them on account of the two girls in front of me who wouldn't stop talking, farting, and taking selfies (I kid you not). By the time RC went on, however, I was able to get to the front and enjoy the performance and the pit. They played Death Rides a Horse for the encore and it got me all emotional, they're just too good. By the time the show was over, I had 12 minutes to get the last train home, so I booked it to coat check, grabbed my stuff, and ran all the way from GAMH to the civic center which was no easy feat given that I had been screaming and thrashing all night and was generally exhausted. Ended up missing the train anyway and had to take the "drunk bus" back to Oakland. I have what my coworker refers to as a bang-over. If your ears ain't ringing and your neck ain't hurting, it wasn't a good show.
  4. Go see Tony Hundahl at Rock of Ages in Austin! instagram.com/t_hundahl
  5. codeword: squidpants  I also wore my LST shirt at the con in October, I don't think it did any good though, haha. Everyone that I ran into from the board I had already met over dinner. Also looking forward to a full report on this show. I'm going to the ATAK show tonight, so I'll be sure to take a boatload of pictures.
  6. I'm gonna check in with la mama and see what's up with our itinerary, cause the trip is first and foremost for mom/daughter time and I don't wanna be all selfish prancing around NYC getting tattoo after tattoo. But! If there is time, I'll definitely let you know, cause how cool would that be
  7. Hey, welcome! Your life sounds awesome, haha. Can we see some pictures of your tattoos? Also, if I were in your neck of the woods, I'd be getting tattooed by Maurius Meyer on the weekly.
  8. Haha well what terms do you want to know? Mostly just sounds like art terms, which I know can be really confusing if you are not a visual person. Also no shame in going to your tattooer and being like "look, I have no idea what any of this means, can you explain it to me please?"
  9. Yeah actually I need to get tattooed by Mark Cross. That's a thing that needs to happen. (calling the shop tomorrow?)
  10. @OutOfIdeas congrats, that's great!!!! Saturday night I got to hang out with the wonderfully charming and badass miss @beez after she finished her apt with Junii at Diamond Club. 9 hours in two days! What a beast! Got tacos, coffee, walked around the Mission, talked tattoos and life. Really fun time. Sunday I tattooed @MadeIndelible after being interviewed for his zine project. That was a really interesting experience. I've never been interviewed before and I feel like I word vomit a lot, haha. Anyway, I'm not trying to circle jerk here, but I really recommend anyone take up the opportunity to kick it with LSTers off the board. Every single one of you that I've met so far has been really awesome. Like genuine quality folks.
  11. Hey! So my mom and her choir are singing at Carnegie Hall this spring (rad!) and I'm coming along to be there with her for this major accomplishment, and to spend some time in the Big Apple. We'll be there May 31st through June 5th. I won't be working, but I do intend on checking out some of the incredible shops located within the city, and see some of the better things that NYC has to offer. If anyone would like to meet up and get dinner/beer/whatever, let me know! Also, I've gotten a few suggestions as to the fun non-touristy things to check out in the city, but would love some more suggestions. I am contemplating bringing stickers/prints/originals with me if anyone wants anything while I'm in town. Cheers y'all!
  12. Right on, welcome to LST. Do you have a particular style you're attracted to? Feel free to post up pictures of your own tattoos, or other tattoo imagery that you like. Cheers!
  13. I was so close to going into Black Heart today for the walk-in Sunday and getting the bearded lady in a boot from the Rassier/Rodin split sheet, but they were almost closed and Jeff didn't have time :(
  14. Capilli Tupou did a great clipper recently, it wasn't until I had seen this one that I'd noticed how flat and lifeless most sails look in tattoos by comparison. Instagram
  15. @real meta forever jealous of your Monga work.:cool:
  16. @OutOfIdeas Thank you kindly! If you ever decide on it, feel free to shoot me an email. cltattooing (at) gmail (dot) com
