  1. I go saturday to get this finished and to set up another appointment for Hunter. I am looking for some ideas to fill the blank spot to the right of the Koi's head. Are there any ideas anyone could throw out to help me get started putting something togethor. Maybe a lotus?

    Thanks all!

I say ask Hunter.....and let him do his thing!

    ;)

  2. this is so awesome......sounds exactly how i do these trips to get work done.....I never leave enough time to really fully enjoy the trip other than the actually hanging out at the shop thing!

Sounds like you planned it all well and are getting it all done!

Enjoy LA.........I am just seeing this or we might have taken a ride up to Brooklyn! :(

  3. Tony P on the BBC . Thanks Jade1955 .

BBC News - Legendary tattoo artist still inking aged 77

When I was getting tattooed by Mike Perfetto and Tony came in to visit me.....Mike was telling me how the BBC had done the research and found that Mike's shop was the oldest shop still in operation in NYC! Mike told them that he was honored that they would come to him looking for "history" but they really needed to include Tony Polito in their "documentary" (of sorts)......so tony came down and you can see the outcome in the link.....Tony tattooed Mike Perfetto.....fucking awesome!!!

Thank you for posting this up!!!

I will pass it on to Tony on FB.....

    :)

  4. Yeah....Seth is really a bad example to try to use....and agreed a very random name to throw out!

I am sure the guys on the Read Street Forum would love to answer that question for you though!

And the answer is yes.....seth has been tattooing on occasion....I have gotten two from him in the last couple years! ;)

  5. Now if I had a shop then I would just buy a donkey and paint it up like a zebra....then it would make the female clients happy and be safe for kids!

    Everyone gets a ride!!!

And it's an alternate source of income!

    :)

P.s. --- Kids should be exposed to tattoos and the process earlier in life! I personally see no problem with that and think that it may aid in them understanding that it's okay for people to be different from each other!

Of course I do understand this is on a shop by shop case......and you shouldn't just show up with a kid to be tattooed without asking the artist AND shop owner!

  6. Talked about the unicorn thing a few weeks ago at Philadelphia Eddie's with someone who put a lot of them on guys back in the 70's.......those and cartoon characters were some of the most popular tattoos!

Anything can be made to look less feminine if you have the right artist doing the job and you tell them your concerns!

Here is my hummingbird by Eric Gregory....i don't think it is feminine at all to be honest!

  7. Well.....I went to the baltimore convention!

Friday night it was nice to just see friends but I still missed seeing a few that i didn't know were going to be there so......I went back on Sunday! It didn't seem too busy to me......

If I hadn't wanted to get tattooed by John Black.....I probably wouldn't have gone back down though!

And maybe it is I've changed and not the conventions.....but i think it may just be both have changed!
