I have thought about it and a notable baltimore tattooer suggested I do it and get signed releases and we think about making a book.....but I am really not into that idea to be honest! Maybe taking a few photos wouldn't be so bad though!
I thought it would be awesome to try to get a photo of the person from about the time they got the tattoo with it showing and then get another one of them now with the tattoo and put them side by side! :)
And thank you....it's nice to be back!

You know what.... TIME shows you either know how to get it done, and you do, or you don't... Oliver is a fast tattooer, he was taught that way. besides a time limit also shows who does stuff out of the comfy zone well and who doesn't...
like the dude that could draw the Fu dog but couldn't tattoo it... I'll watch it, Oliver is family. I'm proud...
side note: pointing out problems with the tattoos educates everyones future clients.... my two cents

Let me say it is an honor to be the first post in this thread!
I can only imagine some of the ownderful stories to come!!!
First tattoo was a pachuco cross on my left index finger! Was done by needle and thread with india
ink by a boy whose name i can't even remember! It has lasted 28 years and believe it or not cost me
a promotion to a management position 17 years ago....back when tattoos were not as ""hip" or "fashionable"
Would I do it again??? Yes....most definitely....although knowing what i know now.....it would have been professionally done!
I got my first Professional tattoo 26 years ago by the lovely Juli Moon while she was still at
Dragon Moon Tattoo in Baltimore, Maryland! It is a butterfly on my left breast which has since been
incorporated into my chest piece! I am fortunate to have started being tattooed by such a wonderful
tattooist right out of the gate and i know that now! I have made several mistakes over the years
by being tattooed by people in the craft who were friends but less than accomplished tattooists but
fortunately nothing that is horrible or couldn't be fixed!
    Why did I get tattooed?
I grew up in an area where people had tattoos....not necessarily I guess the best area, and I fell
in love with the art at a very early age! I am the only one of the three girls that walked to the door of
Dragon Moon Tattoo that went inside that evening! It was more of a street shop then than a "studio"
and I have to admit I was scared to death! But I did it and have lived with the outcome of my decision
    for 26 years now!
What a wonderful decision it was too!
I have some of the best friends and have met some of the nicest people!
That decision 26 years ago has led me to have a wonderful collection of art on my body done by 49 artists to date! I want to have the best work I can have....by the best artists I can get to tattoo me!
I am a collector of fine art now and my skin is the canvas!!!

"collector" is the name most tattoo artists give to us though Mario I guess because we are collection tattoos from specific artists! I really don't see myself as anything special because i "collect" for my own reasons......not to enter contests and win trophies or for the "ego" of having good work! I just feel blessed to have met the talented artists I have met, and to have their art on me! It's the tattoo artists that make a big deal out of it because 99% of most people being tattooed have no clue who all these artists are that have tattooed me nor do they care! I really don;t know many "collectors" so i guess really tell you how others act when they come into your shop....I just know I am not like that.
I have no problem with someone who only wants to get a name or kanji, or whatever as they are the ones that are paying your bills! As long as it is good work that is!

i first saw peter lagergren's blog a few months ago, and i was blown away.....couldn't beleive i have never heard of someone that good until now.
that backpiece on ben grillo looks crazy.
i could mention a few people, one would be steve moore from vancouver, i know some west coasters already know about him, but out east anytime i show some my work from him, they have no idea who he is.....he keeps it low profile on the web and has only done a few articles. but if you get to check out his sketchbook and the photo book he carries around, it's insane. one of the best artists i have ever worked around, he did a few guest spots when aaron still worked with us.
matt rinks and brady duncan are two other dudes who a lot of younger tattooers don't even realize that alot of shit they are copying are heavily influenced by stuff they were doing a whle ago. neither of them hae a while lot to do with computers, though.
i used to work with this dude named jef mcgreevy a while back who could draw, paint, or tattoo almost anything, not even sure if he's still tattooing now. would have been really well known if he did a few more mag articles back then.
he's been getting some press nowadays, but cory norris is a another artist that has been pushing it for a long time.

I don't care for industry either, there's nothing industrial about what I do.
Anyone said body-mod? That word makes me want to slam my face into my desk. I guess thats more of a piercer thing... Come to think of it, I feel the same way about most piercers.

This is the best I have so far!
The lettering and negative drop shadow was done by Dave Cise at the Baltimore Tattoo Museum.......the photo was taken by my good friend Lauren Barnhart right after the tattoo was finished! Lining on the lower neck (woman blowing leaf petals) was done by Jon Glessner and his art as well....and the color was added by Brady Duncan! And everything on my chest you can see is by Brady as well!

I forgot I got tattooed by Jason Reeder again too....a carrot dildo....something he had wanted
to tattoo on me for some time ....ha ha ha!
Got that a few days before Brady finished my neck!
Ummmmmm............the tattoos were literally on all parts of my body....on my back, both legs, and hip!
Healing....I took a shower once a day like I always do....and aquaphor....and i had to wrap the tattoos for a few days so they didn't wind up sticking to my pants or shirt! Mostly didn't have anything on when i could!
I looked like I was the walking wounded most of the time with cellophane & meat packs taped all over me....ha ha ha
I try not to get anything larger than the size of a baseball anymore...and i am running out of room in certain areas BUT you would be surprised how much room i still have left! Jerry Swallow's & Timmy Tatts tattoos were not that big...i will try to post pics but i didn't want to clog up the thread with so many photos!
    65 artists to date!
Next up will be Sara Purr(I believe at the Baltimore Convention), Tanane Whitfield, & Dana Helmuth! I talked to Dave Cise klast night about a drop shadow on the text on my neck as well!
I may take a break after these 3-4 artists tattoo me....but somehow i doubt that will happen as you need to take the opportunities as they present themselves!

    Sorry.....it's me again!
Had Dave Cise at The Baltimore Tattoo Museum finish off his tattoo yesterday on my neck!
I think my neck is totally done now!
He added some lines around a phrase he has put on the front of my neck from ear to ear and did
a negative drop shadow throughout the whole thing!
It turned out awesome and i am stoked to have my neck totally finished!
