  1. Going into 5th day post back of neck slam. Just the final stage of flake to fall off now. Today will be the only slightest bit of cetaphil to assist with the dryness now. Gotta love healing easy. My only dilemma now is...I've realised I need to slam the rest of my neck in up to the jawline & have absolutely no idea what to put in there. I've virtually come to a stand still. I'll get back to this upper thigh and seek inspiration from under the machine I think. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  2. Hi Al. Greetings from Australia. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  3. @idyllsend. Good to see you find a positive in a shitty situation. I haven't had a shitty moment for like 3 months now. A while back I was hitting massive lows, then highs. Hitting massive depression to the point I thought I was doing my head in, not sleeping, struggling with past experience and addiction issues. An old brother talked me out from seeing a Dr and making the decision to seek prescription medication, but I knew I fkn needed something because the lows were becoming much more intense and for longer periods. Then I discovered s herbal tab, St Johns Wort. Aids in regulating mood, focus and solid sleep. I take 1 cap every morning with my multi and krill and I swear, NO lows or highs. A consistent even mood and happy as fuck...like its constant. I wish I discovered this shit earlier. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  4. Just gotta get that little bit right..in..there. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  5. Nothing worse for me while I'm trying to get through a challenging tattoo than someone chatting. It pisses me right the fuck off, I think because it breaks my concentration. The breathing though, vital to a much easier sitting. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"

    G'day

G'day Mitch. From Australia as well mate. Welcome to this faaarkin awesome site. Good career goals there, good luck with all that. No need to plaster yourself head to toe, neck to hands too quick. Enjoy becoming heavily tattooed over the course of your lifetime, as you grow, learn and live life's experience. Your collection will then become a story of your life rather than a quick race to the finish line. You'll learn a lot here. Now, show us some of these tattoos you speak of. Cheers. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  7. Have any of our LSTers got their palms tattooed? Tattooers: I mainly just see heavy line work punched in. Is this because colour just drops? Anyway, thinking I now need to venture down this path. "Booze, Blues & Tattoos"
  8. Just got home from packing the back of my neck. Fuck me is all I can say. Absolutely drilled the fuck out of me. Not easy going for Ol mate either, belting into that weathered, rubbery skin. Was a solid drilling to pack this area out. Regardless, it's done. We never have to visit this site again. Now, for post tattoo recovery. Hot shower/ cold cider hand in hand.
  9. Thanks @SeeSea. Cooler bag packing in 15 [emoji1] Be turning the drinks fridge up a notch with 2 extra Mercurys on stand by. BTW, awesome session on your back, again. Styling. I can't like anymore. Only have Tapatalk to access LST now.
  10. It's 0530 here, just woken and I find myself coming here to LST to help me get in the frame for the day. The usual routine begins. 0630 extra sweet coffee. 0700 long warm shower. 0745 pack a cooler bag with 6X stubbies of Coopers Pale Ale & Mercury Cider. 0800 hit McDonalds for an English breakfast wrap meal/ small orange juice. 0830 hit the road churning out some Tattooed Mother Fuckers on the stereo. 0915 arrive at destination, tattooer and I close the door to the private room and begin the morning by filling the room with smoke, exchange a few laughs and sharing a couple of stubbies. 1030 in the zone for today's neck slam. Today, should be done by 1300, home by 1400, hot shower/ cider post tattoo aftercare. Happy days. Filling the shark with background today, smoke, flames and lightning.
  11. Picking a brother from the airport soon. Gonna get faaarkin smashed again tonight [emoji1]
  12. This is true. My mate, it's now been 6 years. We have become such close friends that we have acknowledged it will never end. I only have a little fill to complete back of neck (this w end), some colour fill on the butt cheek & upper thigh. Now only the feet to design and fill. Our regular visits will continue, our Sunday morning cider and beer tasting sessions, the presence of like minded people going through the same experience of suiting out...and by going on your advice @SeeSea, we can still enjoy doing some relining, punching some more black over black for good times. For me, it's not the end, just a new chapter in a lifelong friendship.
  13. Stars and skulls on the ear lobes @SeeSea [emoji4]
  14. I just started 2 weeks annual leave today. Gonna get opened the fuck up tonight I think [emoji482]
  15. It's funny eh, clean skins reckon we get used to it...myth number 1, then ya get some wombats with a couple who skyte tattoos don't hurt fuck all. I'm in psych mode this week to finish back of neck slam.
  16. @9Years. I was the opposite. I found the ribs, and both solid panels to heal extremely fast, no discomfort at all and all just flake heal within the week. They healed so fast and easy we were trying to work out as to why. We just put it down to blood flow/ organs etc. Nothing to back that theory up of course, just a drinking edumacated guess. The application though, there was areas that were real tough for me, drilling into the floating rib area, carving between the ribs, man oh fkn man...it took everything I had to maintain composure. They fucked me out both physically and mentally. Ya just won't know mate until your lying under that machine, on the day. But as @9Years mentioned, prepare yourself for it mentally, that's the key. I've made the mistake in the past walking into sessions thinking ...walk in the park. I've learned to always treat every session with the respect they deserve.
  17. I can't like via tapatalk, so count my vote as being cast. This is tops [emoji106]
  18. Watched Tattoo Nation recently. What a great doc. Loved every minute of it.
  19. @SeeSea. Good advice that. Can still appreciate the experience by touching up, drilling black & popping old colour I suppose. @misterJ. A few people I know have suggested this notion in the past. I've always been reluctant to do this. Mainly because most of the years were a haze, a lot of shit forgotten and probably for good reason. More time behind bars, riding with solid brothers is probably the best remedy.
  20. I'll only have post tattoo blues once in my life. After the last session, after we exhaust all available space to fill. Getting very close to that point now. Don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do at that point. Hope I don't get all fucked up in the head and start blast lasering just to start all over again.
  21. Agree with all of the above. When a person decides they're going to be that closed off and judge solely on the overall appearance, design and craftsmanship, ya right doesn't weigh in as a factor. Mind you, to a point but, I think we're all still quite conscious that what we may drill onto our hands and neck has to be very particular as opposed to what we may choose for placement in an area that can be covered when we choose yeah? Like, I love old time wizardry symbolism as much as I might love a deaths head design. Not that the deaths head is an exact representation of a certain political belief, believe me, it ain't that deep for me, although, placement I think is important because we're all right on one level here, the GP or PC brigade can't fathom why to begin with, so that narrow minded perception is going to be quite relevant to a point. So, I would choose quite particularly that the wizard slams the neck pipe, the Deaths Head somewhere a little more private. In a fucked up, early morning kind of way, I think I get what @DJDeepFried is saying here. Anyway, fuck this. I'm skipping work today. It's Spring, a slight N Wester is breezing, and I'm chasing the wind today with some brothers. The wind in our face, sun on our backs, chasing a dream...that should be in the awesome thread [emoji106]
  22. Reading this thread makes me miss the whole back piece experience. We all understand the magic behind envisioning, planning and executing a full back tattoo, unlike any other piece anywhere. Reading everyone's experiences, watching the progress is a great reminder how involved this process is, and how we all share the same mystical bond from all over the world that the full back tattoo beholds. Awesome!
  23. Sorry to hijack a little, but this thread has just given me a rad idea for a foot tattoo. A panthers head, in a Nazi SS helmet smoking a fat as fuck half smoked cigar. Ok, continue...thanks.
