  1. Wow, I didn't expect that many shops to be in VA. Thanks to everyone who responded. I was going to get one tattoo while I was in VA, but I may just have to get more with all those choices.
  2. I will be taking a trip to Charlottesville, Virginia at the end of next month. So far I have seen Jinx Proof in D.C. and Super Hands and Hold it Down in Richmond. Are there any shops that I am missing that are in the area? American traditional only, por fa. Also, any LSTers live near Charlottesville?
  3. @Delicious . That's awesome! Amund Dietzel made some great flash that I think would suit your idea very well (both the heart and the butterfly). Or check out the Spider Murphy's flash for some more sweet butterflies. I got my first tattoo based off a story that my grandfather told me when I was really little.
  4. If I am not mistaken, a lot of the fat ladies in circuses and ten-in-one shows at the turn of the century were also tattooed ladies. And, I would bet a lot of money that everyone here would agree with gougetheeyes.
  5. Nobody deserves to go through losing a child. Sending my best wishes your way, @Scott R .
  6. @David Flores Ate at Sol Food for the first time on Wednesday on the way back to the Bay Area from Healdsburg. It was great. Get the shrimp combo plate and the coconut pudding. Can't wait to see what you get from Cripwell!
  7. By Jason McAfee at Temple Tattoo in Oakland, CA.
  8. @Duffa Thanks, man. I will. @jacobhh The name is familiar, but I can't recall any of his work. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. I like Santa Muerte as a tattoo image. Haven't put much thought into actually getting one, but who knows... I say go for it. Here's one from Scott Sylvia:
  10. @Duffa I still have to go in to Diamond Club to check out the Salmon pair's work before I make any decisions. If I don't go to them, I am going to see what is up with some hori-shis in Japan.
  11. @Our Endless Days , I agree, which is why I went into Temple to get this wolf from Jason McAfee last week to keep me happy until my September appointment. photo is from the day after
  12. There are enough tattooers here in the Bay Area that I don't necessarily need to travel to get tattooed, and we have the State of Grace Convention each year. The farthest I have traveled is about 80-90 miles round trip from Half Moon Bay (Peninsula, southwest portion of the Bay Area) to Oakland. I'm also in the beginning stages of accepting the fact that I might have to travel to Japan for a tattoo sometime in the distant future.
  13. Poker player? Man's ruin is a good way to go if you partake in females/libations. Timeless classic.
  14. Found this thread through the search function while looking for tattoo shops in Portland. New favorite thread! Anyone else have any cool 222 stories? Thank you so much, to everyone who already posted.

  16. @Scott R Nick Colella for two and Ron Wells for one last year. This year, I haven't really thought about it too much, but maybe Thomas Hooper (I have no idea if his "no longer taking new appointments" applies to conventions), Bryan Burk, or Danny Reed. Are you going to get tattooed this year?
  17. I will be at Blackheart on the 16th for a 3:30 appointment.
  18. Went last year for the first time and got three tattoos. Don't think I'll have it in the budget to top that this year, but I will most likely be there getting some stuff touched up, and maybe one new. Hope to meet some of you folks.
  19. Had a good laugh at that post. Nick is a good dude.
  20. Welcome to LST from a fellow Bay Area resident!
  21. Getting a wolf head from Jason McAfee at Temple next Wednesday. Will post a picture soon.
  22. All valid points. Horitoku: Edit: I don't know why it is cropping the picture, so here is one of just the tattooed gentleman.
