  1. Searched, and didn't find a thread on wolf tattoos, so I decided to make one. Daryl Rodriguez, Hold It Down Tattoo: John Reardon: Chad Koeplinger: Jelle: Daniel Trocchio: Kim-Anh Nguyen-Dinh: Stefano Cera: Clay McCay: Erick Lynch: Ron Henry Wells: Steve Byrne: Jef Whitehead:
  2. I've been wanting a butterfly/moth for a while. Theo Mindell does amazing butterflies, and the shop he works at is pretty close to me. Not sure who I would go to for a moth, though. Theo Mindell:
  3. Welcome. I dig your tattoos.

  5. Believe me, I said the same things to the guy when I saw him post about his new tattoo. And I do contribute with these I think are really cool, it's just that the guy was defending a terrible tattooer just because he got something from him. Then again, the tattooer never got to defend himself, so I get that. That all said, I get what you are saying, and I'll be posting quality work from now on.
  6. Marina Inoue Erich Foster Does anyone know who did the original flash?
  7. It's better today (not completely, but better). Thanks.
  8. It's black, red, and green where the swelling is. Weather is 55-60.
  9. On another forum, one of the posters got a new tattoo, so I asked him who did it. He says, "Damon is his name. I really can't remember his full name. He works out of Revolution here in West Lafayette... been doing it for 18 years or so. He's really good." So of course I got to check out this experienced, talented tattooer for myself. This is what I found: Tattoos | Facebook Some of the gems:
  10. I got the tattoo back in October of last year, and it is all healed of course, but certain parts started getting swollen today. The tattoo is on the whole front of my thigh, and an area of about 4 square inches is swollen. It's not red or itchy, though, and the swollen area is in the shape of the tattoo, so it's got to be related to the tattoo. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, before I go to the doctor or anything. I was thinking it might be an allergic reaction, but that seems odd as I have had the tattoo for over 5 months with no symptoms. The tattoo was also a little dry, so I applied some lotion, but the swelling hasn't gone down. Thoughts?
  11. RIP Adam Yauch. Cancer really sucks. My best friend has had it for a few years, and she's sick non-stop.
  12. Henry Goldfield of SF. Still tattooing. From his site: Henry Goldfield established Goldfield's Tattoo Studio in 1977 on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. One year later Henry moved his shop to its present location in San Francisco's famous Broadway Strip where the street was teeming with locals, sailors and tourists. A master of many trades Henry is known worldwide as one of the profession's finer artists, and is considered a pioneer of modern tattooing styles.
  13. I just saw the Sears thing on Tumblr. Crazy. And, I just got an email back from the VP of merchandising at Dick Blick saying that due to responses to their carrying Skin Candy inks, they "are reviewing [their] product selections and will respond responsibly," whatever that means. It all seems like a form response to me.
  14. Tom Waits's Blue Valentines also has a tattoo reference in it although it's not a song about tattoos. "The ghost of your memory... the tattoo broken promise I gotta hide beneath my sleeve"
  15. I'm not religious, but I plan on getting a devil head tattooed on me. I just like the sentiment behind it, and think that the tattooer I am going to does badass devil heads. Besides, atheists are the Devil, right?
  16. Great thread! For my first tattoo I gave a vague idea of what I wanted, and let the tattooer pick the specific imagery. I feel like I was too into the story for this one. For my second and third tattoos I just picked some flash from the Amund Dietzel books and let the tattooer do the rest. For my fourth the tattooer had a stencil already made for someone who decided not to show up to the convention, so I agreed to have him put it on me. Out of the four, I like my snake and rose, the one that I had no hand in deciding on, the most. I think for my next one I am just going to give the tattooer a few pieces of imagery that I like, and let him take it from there.

  18. I'll be getting the Lagunitas dog as a tattoo soon enough.
  19. Ate some motherfuckin' stuffing. Drank some motherfuckin' wine.
  20. These were posted on another forum, and I thought some people here would appreciate the scans.
  21. Moth tattoos are the bee's knees. (Stefano C.) Herb Auerbach: Steve Boltz: Daniel Higgs:
