Texas is pretty damn big. Where?
I live in "Central Texas". Which means I am 1.5 hrs from Austin, 2hrs from Houston, Dallas, Ft Worth and 2.5 hrs from San Antonio. So any major city will work...though I usually go to Austin.

Need an artist for my dad. He wants a wolf in forest that could walk off his skin. Not my style but that's what he wants. Austin, Houston, Dallas San Antonio are all within 3hours from us. Any recommendations would be nice. Thanks.

wow. the shin was by far the most brutal spot for me, lower inside and lower outside of the shin are brutal worst spot for me by far I had 8 hours eachside that's why maybe.. get this stuff made by shane oneill its a spray you use once everything is blocked in, I forget the name but its amazing ,spray it and wrap it in saran wrap for 5 mins, it takes almost all pain away and just re eapply every 30 minutes
I had something similar to this when I had work on my ribs. Sat for 2 hours on the outline (enjoyed plenty of pain) then the spray/Saran Wrap/5min and then another hour of relative peace on the shading. Did start to wear off after 30 min though. Only applied once.

I respect all styles and even though I would not put many on my body, I appreciate the art and the artist.

Three hours on my ribs last week and two and a half on my back yesterday. I know I am a wimp. 3 and out!

Less than 24 hours out from a 3 hr rib session with Joey Ortega in Austin and I am constantly pulling my t-shirt away so it does not stick.

About 4 hours of shading. Outlining is rough for me, about 3 hours of lining and I'm done. I'm not sure I could do even a medium sized tattoo in one session. :( That's okay, that just means I can get tons of little ones. :)
That's my theory as well. I just did about 2.5 hours of outlining on my back and only made it about half an hour of shading and had to tap out. 3 hours is my limit.

pics?

I'm leaning towards Anderson Luna. His soft grays really stands out to me. But I haven't seen any birds from him.
Hopefully he can pull of something as good as Hooper's raven: Instagram
That Raven is awesome. I just got one on my right ribs in Austin and have one scheduled on my left side this summer. Love a good raven.

I have an appointment with Mr Ortega next week. I really nead a new tattoo to relieve the stress of the unfortunate national attention I am getting. Serious stress relief.
-
What spacifically are you wanting in that style?
I like the form of the Raven with the asymmetrical uneven feathers. Looks very natural.
-
Is that a cover up?
No. It is not a cover up.

calf, ribs, ankles, knees, whatever,I have tattoos all over my body, and IMO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, IT ALL FREAKIN HURTS !
and anyone who says any different,is lying .
Lol, I know that's right. I have tattoos on my arm, back and now my ribs spanning 22 years and they all hurt...and each were well worth it!
-
I am not covered but do have visible tattoos on my arm and neck. I tend to cover them at work but they do peak through occasionally. As the elected District Attorney I get away with it but understand how many feel.

I was getting a Raven on my calf but y'all scared me off...so I put it on my ribs. Healing great so far but dang it hurt!
In this thread, we commiserate about healing our fresh tattoos.
